I believe "Monogorsk" takes inspiration either from Norilsk or from Vorkuta. Huh, interesting moment - "Mono-gorsk" probably originated from "monogorod" - a town with only one major factory/industry, which is the core of it's entire economy. Everything else exists "in orbit" of that "big beast". P.S. Design of the creatures and locations strongly remind me about Soviet adult animation from 80s.
Also "Militsiya" is a term used by the Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries during rhe same time period. Some former Soviet countries still use it occasionally but I think this game takes place during Soviet era.

That also makes much more sense because the level of decay depicted is more like what happened to Eastern Bloc countries after the USSR dissolved and all of their industries were privatized and their wealth was stripped by international corporations. That lead to a lot of abandoned factories and other such buildings left to just slowly fall apart.

The art style is what caught my attention but Matvei is very relatable. Having issue letting go of past trauma and it holding him back as well as wanting to try and help every other lost soul he comes across as is human nature. Can't wait for more.
I wasn't paying attention when I clicked on this video. Didn't know it was a horror game until the protag mentioned working in retail. Also that 1st Game Over screen is unique and haunting, I like that. Reminds me of Bloodborne.

It's like David Cronenberg and Junji Ito played Silent Hill then read about the Backrooms and decided to make a collab. I am absolutely LOVING this aesthetic and can't wait to see how the game turns out!
Hands down the most disturbing enemy designs since the first Dead Space game. I would like to ask the developer (if he is watching this of course) to NOT add jumpscares in the final build. Because horror genre nowadays is so badly flooded with such games, and it would be a shame if this title goes down that path.

Given the mood and tone and theme and style of the game I don't expect it to end like this but...I hope if there is more than one ending one of them is at least Matvei escaping the hell he found himself in. Guys miserable enough as it is he doesnt need to end by some...horrific random human eating/killing monster.
The aesthetic of that game is SO fucking on point. I really love to see people pushing the limits of simple game engine like this (I assume this is RPG maker here) I like that is very "Silent Hillesque" without feeling derivative
the three frame movement and how the body looks while walking left and right does look like an RPG maker engine game, and the idea that you can achieve that look in rpg maker is fucking nuts
@@monotone2256 I do recommend you to check out more RPG makers games then, especially the "RPG maker survival horror" there are a lot of small indie projects with fucking crazy ideas and visuals out there that really push the engine
For other part of the World it's just another horror. But for me, russian, it's great gold, because I thought we can't make a single game. I very proud about this developers and hope, that they will go well.
I’ve kept on coming back to this a good few times today. The absolute screaming silence of the death scenes with brutal churning sounds of a body being murdered/mutilated is just so unnerving but brilliantly brutal. I WANT MORE
Really relatable. Not just the retail job but wanting to die until a painful method presents itself, then you know no one really wants to die, they just think they do.
There are a certain charm on a look and art style like this. On one hand, Its ugly at best. On the other hand, It fits and really giving alot of atsmosphere that exist only as one of a kind too. Hope to see this as a full game on Steam, Would bought it.

Holy shit, I really like this. Amazing art and attention to detail. And despite just watching a video it really made me feel unsettled at times. Lots of butt-clenching moments trying to get past these creatures without getting spotted.
Artwork heavily reminds me of UMAMI's style for " Interface " ..... One of my favorites, hard to believe its designed & animated all in photoshop... Curious if this was too

Idk why but it reminds me of that horror webtoons with body horror called Lacrim. A huge classic horror comic and disturbing too. I recommend y'all to read because omg does it slap. And it's all hand drawn as well with red ink specifically and black too to give off that disturbing feeling of hopelessness.
