It’s interesting that in Pikmin 4 there is a larger Emperor Bulblax called the Sovereign Bulblax, which has Emperor Bulblax’s appearance and size from Pikmin 1. This means that in Pikmin 1 we fought a Sovereign Bulblax and not Emperor Bulblax as the final boss.
I wish they had kept the concept of massive bosses from Pikmin 3. It kind of felt like Shadow of the Colossus with those fights. Also I dont think there's a single series that has ever bennefited from motion controls more that Pikmin.
As a new player, who has been eying pick in for a while but only started playing with pink in 4, groovy long legs was absolutely ominous, I’m glad I was a first time player as I probably would have destroyed it within seconds otherwise, but the lead up to the fight was very creepy and whilst I was fighting it, the way it’s legs looked with the wire-like hairs coming off and draping around the boney colouration of the legs themselves, the creature was really spooky and grotesque in a way, and yet the musical theme still somehow fit well and made the fight really enjoyable so I’m glad I went in blindly and actually fought the boss instead of destroying it before it even began
Series veteran here. Groovy was just as hard for me and took me a few cycles to understand his pattern when I first played 4. You're absolutely fine with not destroying him first try in seconds my dude. And I'm hoping you also enjoyed your time in 4 enough to want to play more of the series
Idk why but I was rlly happy when you waited for the emperor bulblax to go through the defeat animation in Pikmin 1 before going towards the treasure it pauses the animation but not the visual effects so what is usually a pretty cool defeat always ends up looking a bit weird. When you waited for the whole animation to play it just made me happy idk why lmfaooooo
Considering the Snagret and Goolix were listed as two of four main bosses in the files for this game, I'm shocked they didn't get their own theme like the Emp and Beady.
I wonder why they even brought the puffstool back if it’s not making Shroommin. Excellent Video btw. Doing the Pikmin 1 Smoky progg no min lost already is exceptionally impressive to me, but you went above and beyond.
Finishing Titan Dweevil off with bitter spray causes it spawn a bunch of droplets, which I thought would be interesting to show off. Plus it was used at the very last second and had no negative consequences whatsoever.
I swear. Most bosses took a few seconds to beat, like Man-At-Legs Also I want to mention this: the Segmented Crawbster looks like a Snom but with a comically large claw.
Fun fact: the Beady long legs and emperor bulblax are the only bosses that have custom music in Pikmin 1 Edit: Wow, that was 3 months ago, when I was completely new to the series…literally everyone knows this
10:36 along with Masterhop, this was the most underwhelming boss I have ever fought! it makes me so mad they turned one crazy final boss into a boring, lame boss with less hp than most hard enemies!
