I love seeing what people are dropping and/or unhauling and hearing why. Just because a series is your favorite doesn’t mean it’s a favorite for someone else and I kinda love that.
This is why I love different manga channels as we all have different taste. I appreciate you willing to share series that you have dropped. I could be one of those not in the norm but after 21 volumes, I still love Komi Can't Communicate. It's one of the most cozy manga I can recommend. Perfect manga after a long day hard day of work where you're exhausted and want something to read while snuggled up with a blanket.
Nice video. I think the only one I'm 'surprised' by is witch and the beast. Ive been enjoying that one a lot. I think letting go of a series is normal. I reevaluatemy collection quite a bit. Everybody has a different outlook to collecting. I think the most difficult thing with new series is if they are already long in Japan. Finding that space etc in the future with all the series that are getting announced, reprints or older series for first time English releases....so much manga!! There is only so much time and space to the hobby which of course will differ for everyone.
The Witch and the Beast honestly has the highest chance of me giving it another chance and it has been a while since I first read it so we’ll see! And I feel you about the space issues especially taking into account series that I start to collect that have like 20+ vols in Japan. lol I try not to think about it, but that’s another reason why I gotta make sacrifices.
I woulda dropped all those too lol. sometimes its ok to enjoy a series and understand your collection can do without it. I'd rather have room and hold onto the series i know i want to go back to and will read again rather than hold onto everything and anything i bring in or don't end up reading.
I dropped Spy X Family and JJK ..I loved the characters so much but I was just genuinely getting tired of the narrative will inevitably read the mangaka's other works after these popular series end
always love hearing people’s reasons for dropping series 👁️ from your list i also dropped komi and the anime for fly me to the moon so i’ll avoid these other series since i think we tend to have similar opinions, great video!
I couldn’t get into The Witch and the Beast until volume 5 or 6. Before I could take it or leave it, but now I love it. Classroom of the elite annoyed me after I found out he…changes. NPCs for me was surprisingly good, I have both LN/manga.
I dropped red river when I was younger and gave away the first three volumes. Sadly I feel like i'd care about the series more now that I'm older. Hopefully someday it'll get a rerelease. I feel mild regret over getting rid of it.
Zom 100 picks back up fairly quickly midway through volume 5/6 where it concluded the town arc and gets right back to the overtop fun that makes it enjoyable. Honestly felt like they were almost poking fun at the Walking Dead show for having so many seasons in the prison, and the town arc almost serves as the same, and just like Walking Dead, it got better once they got out.
As you read more you’ll get a better feel of what you like prior to starting a series. I still drop series but not as much since I been reading for years.
I just started watching your channel because of BoogieSnacks and I've found myself loving your content, also I agree with Cowboy Bebop manga literally the first anime I ever watched in a while.
I love Fly Me To The Moon so much! Probably cause I’m newly married so I can relate to it so much. And I like Komi too but definitely not as much as FMTTM
I'm one of those that dropped Komi after 17 volumes lol. It was wholesome for a while, but the slow development just made it so boring. I also dropped Rent-A-Girlfriend after 8 volumes, especially after I heard the story gets way worse. Now I gotta try to sell these series, but I don't know if I want to put someone else through Rent-A-Girlfriend lmao.
Couldn’t agree more concerning Platinum End. I would give the Witch and the Beast the 3 volume rule. It gets better with every volume in my opinion. Also, where to you sell your manga? I need to start unloading myself!
Yeahhhh Platinum End definitely had potential but it just ended up falling flat for me… and yeah I think I’m gonna end up giving The Witch and the Beast another shot eventually. Also I usually use Mercari and R/mangaswap on reddit to sell manga.
I'm really enjoying Komono Jihen, looking forward to the releases. I can agree with you with Komi, I have all 21 volumes and I continue to buy and i have no idea why.
Hmm maybe I’ll give Kemono Jihen another shot in the future. When it comes to collecting manga for me personally, if I don’t LOVE a series (8/10 or higher rating) it probably won’t stay in my collection. There are a few exceptions but especially if a series is as long as Komi is, it really isn’t worth it for me with the amount of shelf space it would take up. At the end of the day though, collect whatever makes you happy!
Gto is overrated. I don't buy deliquent turns teacher, lives in the school rooftop beats up students dates students. So weird couldn't dive in the story
Komi and Fly Me to the Moon are honestly garbage. As I’ve gotten more experienced with manga, the worst slice of lifes are ones that have no overarching plot. You just check out after a few volumes because there isn’t an end goal. I’d be fine to read scans tbh, but not willing to invest money into those types of series anymore.

I totally agree, everyone has their own opinions and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I also dropped GTO after 1 vol for all the reasons you mentioned BEFORE the OOP problem. 😅 It's just not my jam.

Thank you!! I too also love hearing why people drop certain series.
You did yourself a favor with Rent-A-Girlfriend honestly, watched the first season of the anime and I’ve never hated a mc like that in my life 😭😭
Yeah bro that MC sucks 😂

Thanks for video, Currently reading Kemono Jihen, vol.1-2, Zom 100 (vol1,-2) was good for now

Regarding GTO, it is the direct sequel of Shonan junai gumi and a part of a bigger series, i highly suggest to read that one before

Oh wow, thanks so much! Out of curiosity how did you find me through Boogie?
@@BlueTempest I had been going through my recommended on YT and Boogie's comment just popped up on one of your videos 😌
@@naztoonzanimations5382 Oh gotcha. It’s always cool knowing how people find my channel!
@@BlueTempest that makes sense and I'm glad I did find it 😊

Nice list! We have similar feelings about Zom 100. Definitely give The Witch and the Beast a couple volumes it's a really great series.
I dropped Platinum End too lol. The main character is straight up annoying. Couldn't make it past volume #9.

The witch and the best is pretty good. Kimono jihen is also good
Those are the two I’d be willing to give another shot to in the future

Maaaaaann, that shirts so hard
Edit: I stuck with Zom100 for 7 vols and had to drop it since there was STILL nothing compelling happening.
Thank you bro! and yeah, seems like i’m not really missing anything by dropping Zom 😬
coulda been so good
hey man i agree with you about the zom100 But vol 5 got me on to it again vol 3 and 4 are the weakest vols
09:00 I don't understand why it's so high in people's top manga list but again it is what it is
PLEASE read or watch code geass i love it so much and you wanted to watch more clamp manga/anime
I’ve watched the Code Geass anime and even own a dvd box set! It’s one of my favorite anime series of all time!
Tenjo tenge is my least favorite manga of all time. Please put them on takamine San I just got into and have been enjoying it
Gto is overrated. I don't buy deliquent turns teacher, lives in the school rooftop beats up students dates students. So weird couldn't dive in the story

Komi is trash i agree
