Are there any similar authors who write similar themes and have similar style to him? I just completed Inside Mari, Chi no Wadachi, Aku no Hana, and Happiness, in that order. Alice is on my list next. Idk what magic he used but Chi no Wadachi really got me the most. Like how did he manage to squeeze out the very last bit of empathy that we had for such a detestable character?

Kinda late, but out of the ones I’ve read I’d rate it (best to worst). 1. Happiness 2. Welcome Back Alice 3. Blood On The Tracks 4. Flowers Of Evil 5. Devil Ecstacy I would read Inside Mari if the print were easier to find and I haven’t gotten through the one shots yet.

Welcome back Alice is probably my favorite manga series at this time. It’s something I can see myself reading it over and over again. So happy to have it in my collection

I've never cringed more while reading a manga than with the flowers of evil, all of the characters act like retards, the dialogue and just everything about this story is so overly edgy and cringe it was painful to read But on the other hand Blood on the tracks was a masterpiece, everything was done incomparably better, and it makes so much more sense for the antagonist to be the mother because she actually does have the power to manipulate her child, and not this stupid edgelord little girl in the flowers of evil I honestly cant wrap my head around how you can read both works and think the flowers of evil was better

Having both of Kaoru Mori’s series is elite taste😉

Dai dark is probably the most refreshing manga I've read in recent times. Dorohedoro is one of the best manga I've ever read, and is hayashida can keep doing what they're doing, then I'm sure dai dark will be as great

Would you recommend "Happiness" to me? I'm not into gender stuff or anything like that. "Waltz", for example, does not appeal to me, while "Shino can't say her name" did seem interesting and I'll be looking into that. I know it's dark and I do like stories that get dark. Is "Happiness" still worth a shot for me?

I suggest using tissue boxes to put the manga in the back a bit higher. Looks better.

Welcome Back Alice really knocked it out of the park in the second half. Tack sharp, deeply personal, unapologetic and even joyful, some of Oshimi's best work. Top 2 with Inside Mari (I can't choose, they both do what they're going for so well). Also some of my favourite visual metaphor he's put to page, super evocative and affecting.

"Astra Lost in Space" is interesting among Kenta Shinohara's series because, unlike "Sket Dance" and "Witch Watch", this series A) has a coherent story line and B) seems to put much less emphasis on comedic elements.

End the argument,guys, but I believe everyone ought to collaborate that Blood on Tracks is by far and away the greatest manga in his collection.

My advice when trying a new comic is to go in with zero expectations, let the story simply entertain, that way it doesn’t disappoint you because you’re letting the story set its own bar.

I like Dai Dark quite a bit. Collecting bones is a funny idea.

i love Dorohedoro a lot. and it was a surprise when i found Dai Dark in my Library, and it was a surprise when i found out that one of my favorite Anime/Manga's Art and Story Director wrote this book. so i immediately checked it out. i just looked up a review for Dai Dark and i somehow already watched this video and literally dont remember when i watched it. but anyway. im here now, so thanks for covering Dai Dark abd Dorohedoro.

As far as my collection now, I have all of Naruto, all the current volumes of Boruto, all of Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, all the current omnibuses of One Piece, a few volumes of Bleach, all of Yu Yu Hakusho, all the currently made volumes of Hunter x Hunter, every single Yu-Gi-Oh! volume as well as all the spin-off mangas of it, I’m working on finishing Rurouni Kenshin, I have all the current ones for My Hero Academia, One-Punch Man, all of Dr. Stone, Food Wars, Assassination Classroom, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, some of Jujutsu Kaisen, Slam Dunk, Haikyu, D.Gray-Man, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, Shaman King, Toriko, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Undead Unluck, all of the current volumes of Black Clover, all of Death Note, the first volumes of all the JoJo parts so far, some of Inuyasha and Yashahime, some of Black Lagoon, all of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, some of Vagabond as well as all the Colossal Editions of Attack On Titan and all the Deluxe Editions of Berserk. I’m hoping to get a box set for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: Re. A good amount of these were hard to get since some weren’t sold where I am, I had to order some series from America like Yu Yu Hakusho, Shaman King, Toriko and Gintama. I like to have all my Shonen Jump mangas together and I personally prefer getting omnibus versions of manga so a lot of the ones I listed are in 3 in 1 omnibus editions. I wish a lot more had omnibuses, but I’m still super happy with my collection and can’t wait to get more.
