great info thank you.... one of my favs too.. I mean they had so many, it's hard to choose a favourite.. what was about Steve Cummings.. iconic lead but shy genius maybe.... alternative.. fantastic memories..
G'day you have got me intrigued As I have lots of that in My LIFE and I really like the Stephen Cummings and the sports... don't throw stones..... strangers on a train.. how come. ....... and few others but how can you tell the sadness part of his Life and if so that could be ONE of the reasons WHY I like STEPHEN CUMMINGS and his music I might relate to it without realising........ I'm interested in YOUR theory PLEASE
Remembering tonight the Sports / Split Enz double header Sporting The True Colours tour. Saw it at sydney Uni Holme Building. Sports were amazing. Also I remember Noel Crombie from the Enz made me want to buy a BC Rich bass but umm I could not afford anything like that
I dig these guys. Took a while but I found out it was easy rats.. greasy meats.. I mean it was the Mersey beats that originally recorded wedding ring. Ha ha ja.. ja .. ha ja.. ja! Paying respect .. I can dig that
I love this song, thanks for posting. I'm assuming from the housing commission towers the clip was filmed in Melbourne, but does anyone know the location where Cummings is walking at the start and finish of the clip?
Criminally underrated band and song
What a song and what a performance. 40 years later so evocative
My favourite of their singles.
Killer lead guitar by Andrew Pendlebury and backing vocals by the Chanter Sisters.
yes those backing vocals ring in the memory from 40 years ago

great band and Steven Cummings is a brilliant front man
I think there is some sadness in your life Steve. This and Strangers on a Train. You are a great talent and we love your music

Underrated.
Great LP is Suddenly - I still have the 7" bonus single that came with it as well, plus the none of the louvre's are damaged! That's rare : )
I have the same album but the louvres are damaged, damn.
@@freeagent8225 Still I guess it is 40 years old now!!
Hello...could you explain about the "louvres" please?
@@Warpedsmac on the record cover 'stripe shaped cut-outs' which looked like louvres.
@@forestgrogorror255 understood. Thank you...the days when album covers were a legitimate artform...

and "Everytime that you Walk in the Room" sounded very Easybeats and even Beatles

It's the Inner Circle of Dante's Hell
It's the city square. The steps in the background are actually part of the fountain that was once there.
The Angels were more popular but I preferred "The Sports".
by miles too...never got into angels but sports were all class
@@TheMicturation Years ago I used to knock Australia, but never its music, raw & not over produced.
