Marianne vocalises this song so genuinely, harmoniously and sweetly. So believable. A joy to hear and watch.. Perfection in tone and timing. Exceptional voice, very special.
westcoastpaeb Thank you, I love this video and makes me want to comment! Don't wish to be "corny," but my first true love and I in the sixties listened to the top hits every moment possible at high-school on a transistor radio hidden from teachers in her jacket pocket. I was in love with Marianne Faithful and my girlfriend also. lol (for the romantics)... We parted all those years ago and connected again only as friends after 51+ years. Was a blast from the past and I still love both today. Peace.
Marianne was the daughter of a Countess no less. She was spotted by Andy Oldham the Stones manager who thought she had a commercial face. She’d never sung before and he chose the Stones, “As Tears Go By” I remember this innocent young girl so shy as she took to the stage on Top of the Pops and I was stunned by her rendition of this song. I’d heard the Sones version on an LP but this was so believable, I could believe she watched children play as she cried those tears. She came through all the scandal of her affair with Jagger and became bigger and better. Way to go Marianne❤️❤️🕊️🕊️✌️
What an beautiful and captivating smile. She melted my heart at 15 and she’s still doing it at 71.
This song is a long lost beauty and so is Marianne Faithfull . .
I’m 72 and her smile still makes me weak at the knees.

Very hot singer in the 60's with the voice of an angel.
I wish we could pick an age we could forever stay I say 20.. she caught us all by surprise always a fan
What a natural voice , she was so demure
My absolute favourite song that Marianne Faithful sang.
Just love this song so much.
She was So Beautiful, she was a Butterfly that got Mixed up with The Stones....
Not the Stones but Jagger exclusively, oh the Mars Bar story isn’t true and that’s from Andy Oldhams’s lips.

Thank you so much
The most beautiful girl in the world
She said they told her she has a face that sells. I agree. This song was written by Jackie DeShannon
the bonly one that can still this song
Incredible! Aphrodite with the voice of an angel.
This very good.
Though I notice on the French recording made a few yrs. Later that her opera voice is more like it is now.More forceful
There arnt many that lit up the sky like MF how lucky we were.
The archetypal English Rose.
I should have married her when I, [didn't] have the chance
She needs a lot of amplification. Song by Jackie DeShannon.
