Ralfi's Alley- Air Combat USA part 1

- Air Combat USA.
This is the very first flight of our day. In it, we did a few practice maneuvers and got a feel for the aircraft. We were setting up for fighter and bandit positions.
Linebacker broke his plane, and so his tape did not work. Only mine was recorded. However he did get the GoPro footage so I used that to fill in the blanks.
Upon going in for landing, an idiot decided to take off JUST as the two of us were coming in to land on left base. He was in the air as soon as the Lines plane touched down.
Just before landing though, Line and his instructor completely missed the bird that would have been in his prop had they been 12 feet closer.
So many things went right and wrong. Hahaha.
More footage is on the way, at least 2 more videos for the second flight where the actual fight happened.

This looks fun as hell, I totally want to try this.
standard-ish. I mean later on you train in the L-39, then whatever have you after that.
I like how flying in close formation was kind of second nature for you by then :P
did you feel more confident in formation flying seeing how you and line do that stuff all the time in dcs
yup, it was no problem at all
Reminds me of my first flight in a Piper Tomahawk - instructor told me that I was flying incredibly smoothly. My response - a decade of Flight Simulator training ! Also he was impressed that I knew how to set the instruments for preflight, and was doing it without thinking...
Man I hope I can do this sometime, I couldn't stop smiling the entire video!
I get the feeling that the instructors are just the older, real-life pilot versions of ralfi and linebacker. As soon as the guests leave they are zipping around and going on great adventures together.
Seems like a pretty awesome instructor. I bet you guys had a good time! =)
"okay you're flying"
" ! "
Great video, you've got a new subscriber. I remember doing this a few years ago in Livermore, CA. I had a really laid back ex-Navy pilot. It surprised me how warm it gets in those flight suits, but it was still pretty fun to pull those turns and black out a little bit. The clouds probably made it a more interesting fight; it was completely clear when I went up.
This looks like a complete riot, would love to be able to try it myself some time.
Im planning on doing this sometime this coming year, i have always loved flight and thats a fun way to get to do it.
Wondering if you can do such a training here in europe as well, this looks great, but will be an expensive holiday :D
Yeah lots of things were a surprise on that first flight. Lines plane didn't have working tapes. Idiot taking off in front of us JUST as we are about to land. Then the near bird collision RIGHT into Lines Prop. That was within 12 feet. Lucky bastard he is.
To my limited knowledge, yes. A friend of the family started out like so, so I'm assuming it's standard, but ralfi himself would be able to confirm I'd think.
PS: Lead in program.
Bloody brilliant, awesome stuff. Sport of kings.
wow man u actually flew, nice!
i'd love to myself.
Really cool video mate! Really enjoying watching your content!
outstanding well done and smooth ride
great flying man :D how many real flight hours do you have?
Awesome lucky man indeed ;) Can I ask how much it cost you to do this and where in the US? Thanks mate and keep uploading
I know there is one in the UK you can do, it's rather expensive though looked at it once with a few of the guys I fly with, until I saw the price. Company is called Ultimate High in the UK for yourself if you are UK based or anyone who is who might be interested. looking at £399 or above for individual on a weekday. if you book a 2 person once it's £678.30 during the week and just over £800 at a weekend
Damn, this is AWESOME.
Can anyone tell me where i can get more info on this?
Very bottom of the description
This is awesome!
damn. what are the prerequisites to this program? it looks ridiculously fun. but wow that was pretty good. i like when you were said "that was only 3 gs?"
guess if its more sensitive than you thought, then your flightstick at home is off limits. my cougar is SO wobbly theres nothing sensitive left.
everytime i sit in my car i wish my sim equipment would react that instant on inputs...
Awesome to see, I wonder how much those packages cost...
Dude this was excellent and while i'm here, hello from Australia!
Pretty much, they control the stick, but the instructors control throttle.
Great stuff! How was the stomach? I was getting airsick just watching...
This is just amazing.
stupid question but are you both incontrol of the craft 100%

I could easely imagine this video being watched by at least a couple million people. Why so few?
Only found this gem today, wondering the same thing
Looks a real good
That close formation was ace, its not DCS though you can't pull through him :)
Did you go back for the advanced levels?
Nice formation flying. What program did you choose?
That was awesome, you're a natural!
That looks like it'd be so fucking fun.. Up there having a dog fight in the clouds, damn.
Damn, almost birdstrike.
Is this actually you flying in the video? If so, could I ask you a couple questions about getting into jobs like this? Thanks.
