  • Air Combat USA.
This is the very first flight of our day. In it, we did a few practice maneuvers and got a feel for the aircraft. We were setting up for fighter and bandit positions.
Linebacker broke his plane, and so his tape did not work. Only mine was recorded. However he did get the GoPro footage so I used that to fill in the blanks.
Upon going in for landing, an idiot decided to take off JUST as the two of us were coming in to land on left base. He was in the air as soon as the Lines plane touched down.
Just before landing though, Line and his instructor completely missed the bird that would have been in his prop had they been 12 feet closer.
So many things went right and wrong. Hahaha.
More footage is on the way, at least 2 more videos for the second flight where the actual fight happened.

standard-ish. I mean later on you train in the L-39, then whatever have you after that.

I like how flying in close formation was kind of second nature for you by then :P

Reminds me of my first flight in a Piper Tomahawk - instructor told me that I was flying incredibly smoothly. My response - a decade of Flight Simulator training ! Also he was impressed that I knew how to set the instruments for preflight, and was doing it without thinking...

Man I hope I can do this sometime, I couldn't stop smiling the entire video!

I get the feeling that the instructors are just the older, real-life pilot versions of ralfi and linebacker. As soon as the guests leave they are zipping around and going on great adventures together.

Great video, you've got a new subscriber. I remember doing this a few years ago in Livermore, CA. I had a really laid back ex-Navy pilot. It surprised me how warm it gets in those flight suits, but it was still pretty fun to pull those turns and black out a little bit. The clouds probably made it a more interesting fight; it was completely clear when I went up.

Yeah lots of things were a surprise on that first flight. Lines plane didn't have working tapes. Idiot taking off in front of us JUST as we are about to land. Then the near bird collision RIGHT into Lines Prop. That was within 12 feet. Lucky bastard he is.

To my limited knowledge, yes. A friend of the family started out like so, so I'm assuming it's standard, but ralfi himself would be able to confirm I'd think.

I know there is one in the UK you can do, it's rather expensive though looked at it once with a few of the guys I fly with, until I saw the price. Company is called Ultimate High in the UK for yourself if you are UK based or anyone who is who might be interested. looking at £399 or above for individual on a weekday. if you book a 2 person once it's £678.30 during the week and just over £800 at a weekend
