I disagree on your opinion about the Aviator. We have a 2020 Aviator Black Label pluggable. Our only repair bill was for new tires, oil changes, and wiper blades. Yes it’s been in the shop for new updates on the software and a few warranty recalls. The dealership is about a mile away and they that our car in and give up a loaner. I don’t do the software update because someone could hack our network while it sits in the garage. I save hundreds of dollars per month not using gas with the pluggable option. I have 200 miles on my tank of gas and haven’t filled it up in 4 months! Yes we drive it every day to do errands and visit friends plus do shopping. I average 27-30 mpg highway and 80 mpg city due to the battery hybrid system. Where else can you get pure luxury with 500 HP, 600 lbs torque, and 0-60 in 5.3 seconds?

Sorry don't agree with your XC 90 selection. We have been driving the XC 90 since 2015 and it has never let us down once. I would highly recommend an XC 90 for anyone desiring understated luxury in their vehicle of choice, coupled with safety of a tank on road and reliability.

I thought I'd get my tuppence worth in first as It appears i'm repeatedly one of those rare exceptions you mention. In recent years I've owned 2 Jaguars and 3 Range Rovers none of which ever let me down. The worst car I had for faults was a 3 year old Audi A6 followed closely by a Merc E320. Maybe I'm just very lucky with JLR things. It's interesting too that when JLR was going through it's worst reliability era, they were fitting BMW and Ford engines, ZF transmissions and using components from Bosch that many other manufacturers use. How come these parts only fail if fitted to JLR vehicles?
