Hi mr salles For this shake speare question 'explore how shakespeare presents the effects of conflict between the capulet and montague families' how would you start your essay
Hello Mr Salles, I was wondering how to lift my grade quickly from a 7 to 9. As my exam is on Wednesday, I haven't much time- any tips would help. Thanks- Ronak
You've helped me improve my grades so much sir, I went from a 5 to a 7 in lit for my recent mocks (1 mark a way from an 8 in both mocks - which was due to loss of SPAG) and a 7 to a 9 in language! Best english yt I've seen and I hope you continue making content, I actually quite enjoy it! English lit is tomorrow and I hope I can do your channel justice and get at least a 7-9 in literature! Thanks again! Edit: If you're able to respond to this, I'd also like to ask, do you think that I can mindmap or essay plan? Which would be more effective? Okay thats all!
After literature exam can u please do a complete video on paper 2 q5 with all forms of question eg letter or speech and how to get grade 9 im really struggling on this question
I know it's kind of out of your lane, but could you do Heroes by Robert Cormeir at some point? It's been a struggle finding verbal resources like these for it.
Thank you very much sir😊 but for top grades do we need a lot of quotes or can you do 5-6 quotes in a lot of detail (as in the mark scheme it says to use judicous quotations and doesnt mention a wide range)?
hi sir how are we meant to analyse each quote in detail but still include 13? i thought you only needed to write 3 paras and then a conclusion and intro
Not Mr Salles, but you can look at it either way. You could argue about how the couple's love is pure and perfect (Shakespeare himself married young, so this could be the case) or you could argue that it is just lust, such as how the friar warns: "young men's love lies not in their hearts but in their eyes". Not sure of intentions for that side though. You could bring in both sides if you wanted, it would count for alternative interpretations.
you weren't right on any of the questions for romeo and juliet and a Christmas carol😂 spent HOURS pauing the videos and taking notes and memorizing them for the complete opposite to come up. it's not your fault but predictions overall are useless !
I would say that the Christmas, Carol prediction of attitudes to poverty, was exactly the same as the question that came up on greed. In other words, the problem with greed is the effect on the poor. So the whole essay plan would have fits exactly to that question as long as you kept referring back to the word greed. Are you up correct not to rely on predictions. That said, I normally get about 50% accuracy, and my Jekyll & Hyde prediction was 100% correct. I will be making more predictions for an inspector calls and power and conflict, so use them with fat health, warning!. I hope you did really well.
Thank you so much! Good luck everyone for tomorrow’s exam!!
