Watch Info:
The Seiko SPB453 Prospex diver's watch showcases over 50 years of dive watch innovation in a compact, stylish package. Its Caliber 6R55 automatic movement boasts a 72-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance for extended periods. With a stainless steel case measuring 40.0mm in diameter, 13.0mm in thickness, and 46.4mm lug-to-lug, it offers improved wearability and comfort for everyday use.
Enhancements include a water resistance of 300 meters, a first for Prospex non-saturation diver’s watches. The curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating enhances visibility, while Lumibrite on the hands, indices, and bezel ensures legibility even in low-light conditions.
Design improvements focus on symmetry and comfort, with the date window positioned between four and five o'clock for balance and filled with Lumibrite for enhanced visibility. The bracelet features shorter links and a smaller clasp, conforming to the wearer's wrist for added comfort.
Key features such as the unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, and screw case back ensure reliability and ease of use in demanding conditions. The three-fold clasp with a secure lock and extender provides a secure fit during active pursuits.
The SPB453 combines Seiko's legacy of dive watch craftsmanship with modern advancements, making it a versatile timepiece suitable for both professional diving and everyday wear.

I have the spb143 and still totally love it big time
I’m wearing the SPB453. I got it about a week ago and have worn every day. I love it.
I've got the old version. Would you please tell me if it's accurate as mine with the 6r was +30aday.
Please let me know 👍 thanks
@@Andrew-yy2ye I set it to world clock last night, this morning it is about 7 seconds fast. I will have to check week over week.
@@johnlubbad6205 thank you, I'm very interested in the new model as it's beautiful but really worry about If the new movement is an improvement, would be brilliant if you could keep me posted on your findings.
Thanks for getting back to me and hope to hear from you soon, all the best Andrew, that's a promising start though as mine would be at least+15 overnight thanks again
same
Same...about a week. Love it, 4th spb for me. Love them all.
I’m stuck on the previous version.
Wearing my Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich bought from where else but Little Treasury!!!
Looks good Chris - nice to see Seiko upping their game with 300m water resistance. 👍⌚🇯🇵
The most unnecessary feature ever
Looks great! I dont have strong feelings about date location, so I think this is a clear improvement on an already excellent watch. Great video as always!
I’m wearing the SPB143 this week, and still enjoying it. I like the new date location, watch dial has better symmetry
Hey 👋🏻 Chris awesome video on this fantastic new Seiko diver . I’m wearing my Seiko SZSB016 tonight. I maybe in the minority but I’m actually liking this much better than the previous version. Especially the blue dial variant 👍🏻
I've got the first spb143 without the lume on the 3. I like it a lot and along with the sunburst grey dial, I prefer it over the newer model.
ended up going for an spb143 because I liked the sunburst dial and the brushed bezel insert
I prefer the Turtle/Willard case shapes from Seiko, but this is a nice refinement to the 62MAS-style divers.
Aren't the bezels now anodised aluminium?
wearing the seiko navigator gmt ... Love this thing.
I'm wearing while watching this video a Seiko SPB237, a nice watch with a great look :)
Wearing the Seiko SPB237J1, I thougt to get the SPB143 but I am -27 seconds per day, and I had to send it to Seiko once because it was more than a minute. So I have my doubts in this model as far as I know the only upgrade is the time reserve...
This is hot, all the right upgrades! Date is absolutely no issue, I like it much better
I am really enjoying the SPB453, and will like it even better when someone makes a Jubilee bracelet for it.
The 62MAS watches are my price bracket BB58 alternatives. The way the BB case lugs roll off causes a shadow line that resembles the clipped lugs on these. If this had a sloped bezel, I’d probably have one on order already, to go with my SPB143. I want all the colors. Budget makes me choosy.
Hello greetings from Austria in the heard of europe. I am wearing my seiko presage 60‘s style in white with gold indizes. Love it. Love seiko and hope they getting more fancy😂👍🏻 like the updates and the 62 mas looks better i think.
I am currently wearing my G-Shock MT-G B-2000 (Blue bezel)
I wish they would swap to a flat or double domed sapphire. Seen it in the metal for the first time a few days ago and I really hate the distortion on the crystal. I do like the watch but if I ever pick one up I'll be swapping that crystal on day one.
Just wished they had kept the steel bezel, but i'll get the black one.
I’m wearing the dumbest watch I love. I have an 8 inch wrist but always liked the traditional 36 mm dirty dozen field watch. I didn’t know if I could pull off a watch that small so I bought a cheap quartz D12 for $50 on AliExpress. I’ve never bought a watch from china and wasn’t really expecting much. I’ve been wearing this thing at my construction job for months and this thing hasn’t gotten a scratch on the crystal. My previous work watch was a 40 mm Seiko 5. The crystal on that watch is so scratched up I can’t barely see the time.
She's a beauty
This is nice
I am wearing my SLFGH005G high beat in every brilliant steel when watching your program.
The SPB143 is one of my favorite Seiko’s. But for me, they’ve ruined it with the new one. Due to that circular 😬 date window at the 4:30 position. Nearly all new Seiko’s with date complication, for a couple of years now have that wart there. And I absolutely hate it!! It ruins all their new watches to my eyes. And has even put me off the brand to a certain extent too. When they release a new watch, and it doesn’t have that bloody thing at the 4:30 I say to myself hallelujah! Well at least it’s color matched to the dial I suppose. Still, I would have much preferred (a framed) date window at the 3:00 or even 6:00.
Not ruined at all. It has 300m on WR . seiko dont have any watch under 3000 bucks to have this feature. The case shape, bezel & movement also get improvement. It looks more expensive than the old one. 1 more thing . It has aluminium anodised texture on its bezel, like the bb58.
Thts my opinion.
It's all subjective of course, but I'm not sure I agree that the new one looks more expensive. Typically I prefer black dials, but what you can say about the sunray grey dial on the SPB143 is that it really pops in the light. Maybe if the new dial was a glossy black, but it's not, it's a fairly flat, basic matte.
As for the bezel, I also prefer the brushed finish of the previous model, which just feels a bit more curated. The anodised texture on the new model feels quite generic imo.
@@briggm I agree, the brushed bezel and especially that grey sunburst dial of the SPB143 makes the watch! It’s a thing of beauty. The only real improvement here is the 300m WR. Everything else I’m afraid is a thumbs down for me 🤷♂️
@@DavidDatura I respect your opinion.I've had the SPB143 in my collection for more than 2 years. I admit it is indeed beautiful... Enjoy your watch sir.
But I still want to get the spb455 in the future. Its stunning. The play of colour.., I couldn't stop myself from looking at the watch in the video anymore. 🥲😆😔
I've the spb297 the blue birch , which is the 143with a textured dial, beautiful watch lovely dial but terrible movement. If anyone has the new one would you please let me know if it is more accurate
Only 2 holes of microadjust. What were they thinking?!
It suppose to be a tool watch. 2 holes is for dress watches.
Not much improvement imho. I’d prefer a no-date version. I’ll stay with both my SPB143 & SPB147 for long.
I want one
I don‘t.
Wearing the Monta Triumph
Top notch quality 👍
I love how this dudes head is always as big as the watch face
I bought this popular video watch from amzwatch , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
Wearing the mm300.
A real watch for men.
SPB455J1 (SE) 🙋🏻♂️...got it 5 days ago .... cant stop looking into its sunburst face
Great video.( #CindySelection) Love them orange dials!
Even with indicios the size of your head I still struggle to read this date wheel 😅
No signed crown and unregulated movement along with hit and miss QC, it’s a pass from me. I own the spb147, it’s a nice watch but gains 20+ sec a day, my Spinnaker Spence gains 4s per day.
Too small for a decent men sport watch. Two micro adjust holes is a joke. Why put a date if it so tiny ? And for bonus : worst movement ever.
This is the same size as a Submariner…the most legendary sports watch of all time. What about the movement makes it the worst of all time?
It isn‘t.
Still massively overpriced.
Low beat crap, peeps are mad to pay that sort of dough
Ok AliExpress
amzwatch 's watches are worth it!
