I run the patty code black duck for everything all the way to turkey season In my maxus 2...then I throw in the patty code black turkey 😎

Hey man, if you have time can you share some input? First, what camera are you using on the shotgun? That's pretty awesome footage getting to track the dot vs the bird. Also I just bought the maxus 2 wicked wing in 3 inch chamber. Never have any reason to run 3.5 inch here in Georgia. Probably around 60% of my time will go to dove. 30% duck. 10% shared over clay, geese, turkey and other. I know I'll (if I can) run low brass and low steel occasionally. So I went with 3 inch chamber for maybe a bit more cycling reliability. High brass and high speed shot gets pretty clostly for me to shoot clay and even dove at times. So anyways, what's your thoughts on your maxus 2 so far? I compared maxus 2 vs SBE2 and SBE3 vs a400 vs a300 vs SX3 ans SX4. They all felt good in the store. But ultimately I settled on the Maxus 2. Thanks for your time!

      Thanks for the comment man.
The gun camera is a ShotKam. It’s a bit pricey, but from a training perspective, it’s a great tool. The settings on the camera allow you to slow down the playback speed and you can tell exactly where your pattern is compared to lead.
The Maxus 2 has been a phenomenal shotgun for me. I shoot the 3 1/2 inch chambered model, and even with a longer bolt, it has zero issues cycling low brass shells.

@publiclandwaterfowler Whew! I just looked up that camera and yeah, it is pricey. But when you have a benefit or need for something, it can definitely come at a cost. I'll keep it on my radar.
That's awesome to hear on the maxus. I'm eager to get mine in. I've ran only pumps my entire life just because of reliably and the easy access and lower cost of low brass. So many affordable semi autos that I've been around just won't cycle them. The maxus will be my first semi auto. I am taking it to the field and lowlands over the next 2 months. Very excited. Thank you for taking the time to reply and give the feedback!

I shoot the rob roberts T3 (full/long range) out of my maxus 2 for everything and it hits like a mule switched from kicks and much happier

Really? You like the T3 over the Kicks..
I actually had the T1, T2 and T3. They came with my SBE 3 when I bought it.. I put them all on paper and I wasn’t all that impressed. Just goes to show that every shotgun likes a little something different.

Funny in Europe we whould never use that tight of choke unless we are hunting geese or foxes... Even for ducks I use modified... But everyone is different what ever works best for you... Only think shooting close up birds with extra full isn't a good idea

If we were still allowed to use lead shot, I probably wouldn’t be shooting this choke. In California, the state has implemented a state wide ban on lead ammunition for all hunting.

Since I’m shooting steel shot, I like having the shot pattern as tight as possible because steel lacks the knockdown energy. Bismuth and tungsten is way too expensive to shoot doves with. Thanks for the comment though! Hopefully one day I’m able to make it across the pond and hunt the Grey-Legged geese.

@@publiclandwaterfowler we can't shoot any more than modified with steel here... Im interested in knowing how are you firing steel through xtra full choke.... I've a browning maxus 2 with 3half inch Chambers but not allow anything over modified with steel

@@paullynch6718 the Browning Maxus 2 is the same shotgun that I shoot.
Look up Kicks Industries. It’s an American choke tube company, that make ported chokes designed for steel shot. I have been shooting the Kicks High Flyer Extra Full since 2012 in 4 different shotguns.

Kicks makes the 5 standard chokes in the High Flyer Series. Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. Then they make the Kicks High Flyer Extra Full that is also designed for steel.
Kicks also makes turkey chokes designed to shoot lead and tungsten.
