I always thought wrestlers were amazing athletes and I’ve always loved watching them train and compete but after watching this video I love them even more. The strength, flexibility and mobility this man possesses is unbelievable. I hope I will be as good as this person some day, after lots of training of course.
thanks for the memories. used to train freeStyle wrestling at Latimer Rd, Ladbroke Grove, during late 90s: many nationalities; Mongolian, Bulgarian, Iranian, Turkish, Romanian, Greek, some truly world class wrestlers: (before MMA popularity began) standard was very high and very serious, warm up involved all within this video along with more advanced gymnastic techniques: a few of the wrestlers were able to head-flip multiple times without hands on mat support!!! incredible strength and suppleness, skill and technique amongst wrestlers: those years were highest level of all fitness i achieved. now 52, recently began bjj: training, strength, flexibility during warm-up is quite inferior to FSW freestyle wrestling.
Wtf did I just saw? That's some serious neck strenght, but I have to say, the look on the BJJ guy when the Bulgarian start doing crazy neck flips is just priceless
Those wrestlers are going to get bone spurs in their neck. The small vertibrae of the cervical spine is not designed to handle a persons entire weight. Athlean x did a video on neck exercises. If those bone spurs start pressing on sensitive nerves near the spine, this could result in impairment, like having the feeling of a stiff neck for the rest of your life.
yeah, first time that I went to a bjj class we did this for warm up and I was very shocked and I just couldn't look at all these people snapping their necks from this and it gave me a lot of anxiety just thinking about doing this but once you overcome the fear and actually try it yourself you're completely fine, just need to remember to support the weight with your hands and you'll do just fine. Brings you to another level of athleticism.
Thanks so much for this. Ive been transistionin to coaching and i always want to switch up the warm up/ stretch routine couse i coach mainly 6-10yr olds so the same stuff dosent stick. This will do wonderfully Greetings from Finland 💪
its really great I am just not so sure to circle the neck, I heard many times from physiotherapists and pe teachers that doing this rubs off your neck and doing it for long time will cause you bad injuries especially in sports where you use your neck a lot.
Not recommended double reps for warm up. That’s 1980s kinetics. One rep preferred. Also no static stretching prior to class. Rather at end. Prior dynamic
I don't want to sound like a know-it-all man but I heard hundreds of times that actually dynamic stretches prior to your training are the worst thing you can do, that you should start with static and this is written also in books, also said by sports physiotherapists. Can you explain please because that is a great matter to me?
supposedly dynamic stretching without your joints and muscles warmed up combined with stiffness you have before warming up can make many injuries and static stretching warms up these areas to then allow your body for dynamic stretches. How is that?
Squat - deadlift - bentover row - power clean - bench / overhead press - vertical jump - sled push and pull - kettlebell swings - turkish getups - any core strength / stability exercise. Just to name a few that you should do in your training.
I started late doing wrestling. I’m a Jiu-Jitsu guy and value what wrestling has to offer. I keep getting injured mostly my upper body leaving every class with arm muscle aches and such. Not sure if it’s technique related of lack conditioning. I’m frustrated bc I sometimes have to miss class
@@maxii95 but this gose with every thing dosen't it? I mean cut an apple the wrong way and you gonna cut your finger. If you don't know the right method don't bother your self replying this.

Throw defense by either a counter or distribute the force like a break fall, but is easier on the body. That would first. More advanced there are a lot of leg lock options and and some shoot defenses. It also is used for some shoulder locks, arm locks, chokes, and sweeps
There is a video where a chiropractor says most these nick movement are bad for the neck( the ones he kissed the floor lol). I'm not sure if that's kind of controversial? Wrestlers have to do this because if they remain bridged using their neck while their back is not contacting the matt ,their opponents wont be given any points. For Bjj, bridging on your neck isn't that relevant.
Neck bridging warms your neck for any grappling sport. In bjj your neck takes as much abuse as in wrestling. Back when I training in a strictly bjj academy they never did neck bridges and my would feel so stiff when we rolled , people go right for the neck when grappling. The alternative is to do isometric warm ups with the neck. it's safer but not as good a warm up for your neck.
"If you got dizzy rolling forward, we'll get undizzy rolling backwards." Epic. My new warmup before class, randori, or porrada. Thanks!
im from bulgaria too and this is exactly what we do at our wrestling gym

Wrestlers are truly the greatest athletes. Thanks for sharing this amazing warm up.
This is how I do foreplay.... no complaints so far.
Lyubo Kumbarov is a BEAST ! OMG ! I am really shocked. Thank you Master for showing us your warm-up ;) Respect from Poland !
This is great... But for many of us the warm-up will be our entire training session ahah For real great tutorial
thanks for the memories.

did you suffer any injuries due to the wrestling training (neck bridges) or maybe the opposite?
No injuries during training: however I did sustain a recurring rib injury from actual wrestling, which forced I to quit to allow injury to fully heal.
Those neck bridges are more entertaining than any IBJJF match ever
😂😂😂
luckily lyubo is my coach and he is master of this sport. love training with him. he is a beast!!!
Now that is a warm-up!! Lyubo Kumbarov is a boss!!!

One of the best video I ever seen on UA-cam 👍
Wow. Can't believe what I just saw. Wrestlers' are entirely a different specie. :D
