The strength, flexibility and mobility this man possesses is unbelievable. I hope I will be as good as this person some day, after lots of training of course.

    thanks for the memories.
    used to train freeStyle wrestling at Latimer Rd, Ladbroke Grove, during late 90s: many nationalities; Mongolian, Bulgarian, Iranian, Turkish, Romanian, Greek, some truly world class wrestlers: (before MMA popularity began) standard was very high and very serious, warm up involved all within this video along with more advanced gymnastic techniques: a few of the wrestlers were able to head-flip multiple times without hands on mat support!!! incredible strength and suppleness, skill and technique amongst wrestlers: those years were highest level of all fitness i achieved.
    now 52, recently began bjj: training, strength, flexibility during warm-up is quite inferior to FSW freestyle wrestling.

      Those wrestlers are going to get bone spurs in their neck. The small vertibrae of the cervical spine is not designed to handle a persons entire weight. Athlean x did a video on neck exercises. If those bone spurs start pressing on sensitive nerves near the spine, this could result in impairment, like having the feeling of a stiff neck for the rest of your life.

      yeah, first time that I went to a bjj class we did this for warm up and I was very shocked and I just couldn't look at all these people snapping their necks from this and it gave me a lot of anxiety just thinking about doing this but once you overcome the fear and actually try it yourself you're completely fine, just need to remember to support the weight with your hands and you'll do just fine. Brings you to another level of athleticism.

    • @lockeddownboxing9904
      @lockeddownboxing9904 4 роки тому

      I don't want to sound like a know-it-all man but I heard hundreds of times that actually dynamic stretches prior to your training are the worst thing you can do, that you should start with static and this is written also in books, also said by sports physiotherapists. • @lockeddownboxing9904
      @lockeddownboxing9904 4 роки тому

      supposedly dynamic stretching without your joints and muscles warmed up combined with stiffness you have before warming up can make many injuries and static stretching warms up these areas to then allow your body for dynamic stretches. How is that?

    There is a video where a chiropractor says most these nick movement are bad for the neck( the ones he kissed the floor lol). I'm not sure if that's kind of controversial? Wrestlers have to do this because if they remain bridged using their neck while their back is not contacting the matt ,their opponents wont be given any points. For Bjj, bridging on your neck isn't that relevant.

    • @Raayusad
      @Raayusad 5 років тому +1

      u bridge in bjj aswell, it is good for neck strenght and shit

    • @Machbox718
      @Machbox718 5 років тому +1

      Neck bridging warms your neck for any grappling sport. In bjj your neck takes as much abuse as in wrestling. Back when I training in a strictly bjj academy they never did neck bridges and my would feel so stiff when we rolled , people go right for the neck when grappling. The
      alternative is to do isometric warm ups with the neck. it's safer but not as good a warm up for your neck.
