One of the first videos to be on the ground the moment water receded in Biltmore Village in Asheville, NC on the afternoon of 9-29-24. Devastation to many buildings along the river. Parts of buildings became river debris following historic rain from Hurricane Helene and the preceding rainfall. #nc #asheville #ncwx #helene
So many places I have shopped, eaten in, and driven by hundreds of times. This is all shocking. My parents are nearby and stuck in their neighborhood because of washed out roads. Thankfully they got cell service back Saturday night, but who knows when there will be power--let alone the ability to drive out of their area.... 😢 I'm just glad they are safe and their house is standing, because so many aren't.....
That had to be scary for them and you.
I dont think I've ever seen this much destruction from flooding in such a widespread event. GA SC NC TN, not counting storm surge in FL. Its unreal 😮
same
It looks like something extra was fueling this storm. Unreal. On radar you could see quick beams of energy bursts shooting into this storm. There was more at hand here.
Cern? election inter. fer ence?
Yeah I saw the beams in real time from watching Ryan Hall. His counterpart Andy Hill noticed something strange before land fall.
My hometown 40 miles NE of Chattanooga got less than 3" of rain and just 10-40 mile per hour wind as the Storm passed. I was shocked with the devastation just 40 miles away in every direction except South. Shocked but fortunate.
Thank you for the coverage. Prayers for all affected.
How about money?
Yes, very good coverage.
🙏🌹🌹🌹
Great coverage and no unnecessary rambling. New sub.
Yes. Also glad there wasn’t music to match the somber mood.
Looks like the tsunami that hit Japan.
Exactly what I was thinking. So horrible.
Except over 20,000 people died in Japan.
Eerie how calm the river appears in comparison now, after having unleashed such fury.
This is probably the worst damage I've seen from any of your videos even the tornadoes videos. Silty mud and twisted debris everywhere.
Yeah it’s one of the craziest things I’ve seen from a storm. Looks like it was worse for NC than FL.
Sad😢😢😢
@@jeltoninc.8542 The entire West coast of Florida received record breaking storm surge, and the Big Bend received the direct hit. Communities in several states have been devastated. How is devastated by storm surge better than devastated by flooding? A loss is still a loss.
All the old timers on the hill warned us every year that we were only a wink away from this. Anyone who says nobody saw this coming didn't stop long enough to listen. You've all of my love, my Carolina Kin. May every day to come be more beautiful than the last.
It was like a giant tsunami without the earthquake.
Most tsunami damage is far from the actual earthquake.
I heard a dog barking when you were at the animal hospital, it concerned me. Any way to check? This is so so devastating and sad for everyone affected by this😢
Sure sounds like it huh....
I definitely heard that as well and replayed it several times! whatever came of the little pup
Haitians are on their way.
@@aday1637 Couldn't resist being a prick, could you?
@@aday1637what is wrong with you. Come on.
Just unbelievable....like something out of a horror movie. Heartbreaking...
At 4:17, you were filming the animal hospital and I heard a dog bark. ARE THERE STILL ANIMALS IN THERE?!!!! I keep listening to it over and over and SOMEONE needs to go check!!!! THE BARK IS COMING FROM IN THAT BUILDING!!!
I heard a dog bark too
You are so right! I hear a dog barking! 😪
I heard it too !
sounded like it was coming from behind OP. I watched it a few times. it wasn't really muffled so i think they got all animals out at the time.
I just heard it too. Why doesn't someone try to get it or is it too dangerous?
Never underestimate the power of water
Be like the nature of water, that's what Bruce Lee said, but within a martial arts context.
Never
And there is nothing you can do with it's raging .....
Smh , all the devastation but also remembering the tragedies suffered by my people in the past , in these lands........
That's what she said. 😏😉
I'd be scared to do too much walking around, I would be Afraid of finding people that are missing and not in a Good Way 😪 Prayers and Condolences to Everyone for Such Such a Devastating Loss of Life and Everything. Truly Heartbreaking 😪
Insidious mud gets into everything making clean up very difficult.
Damn they will take years to rebuild.
Maybe they shouldn't rebuild
This is going to happen again it's a floodplain
@@worldhum It would be easier to move to NY.
@@worldhum YES! NEVER live near water like rivers etc.
also, never live near a dam. if the person can help it.
Probably no one had flood insurance since the whole area is in a flood zone. The insurance companies won't pay for structure damage. Property yes. Trust me on that. Insurance agents in this situation are slicker that a can of melted M&M'S
Sad but very true.
What kind of business would pay for something that wasn’t purchased?
I wouldnt say the agents are slick. It's the federal government for most flood coverage unless it's private flood. I'm an NC agent and I can tell you they'll pull the wool over your eyes in a hurry if you're not up to par on your know how.
Sure would be nice to have all that hundreds of billions of aid money directed towards AMERICAN citizens instead of wasting it all on Ukraine right about now.
The Main Stream Media is Not Showing Any of this
They don't want the masses to know it was manipulated
Why am I not surprised?
Of course they aren’t! Haven’t heard squat from our Prez or his laughing hyena either.
I have been avoiding main stream media, get more info on UA-cam....😅😢
@@RaccCity55
So true!
My heart absolutely breaks for all affected by this horrific tragedy. You have my prayers. 🙏
Looks like an inland tsunami.
My anxiety runs high watching this and I'm not from this area. I suspect we'll hear more than one story packed with bs reasons why insurance won't pay for a large portion of this, thus ruining the lives of thousands of people.
Oh yeah, insurance doesn't cover flood damage or "acts of god".
It's not just Asheville..there are dozens of small towns in the foothills and mtns that have been completely destroyed like this..not just a district of a town..ENTIRE downtowns
Any idea how Maggie Valley fared? I watch a church that is there. I'm out in Arizona.
It was manipulated to do so
Maggie valley is bad 😢@@tuckerkatze8309
Completely destroyed is an inflated description
Thank you for doing a video where someone isn’t running their mouth continuously. It is so difficult to find independent coverage like this. The networks all buy the top spots in the stack
This is the area I go out for dinner with my kids. I used to use the FedEx office to ship some stuff. I know people work there. I don't know what to say. I just pray they are safe.
This is truly heartbreaking. I used to live in Asheville in 2016. Such devastation.
Stunning. I was there just months ago, and it’s painful to see it all destroyed. Same thing happened with Katrina; I was in NO just a few months before that disaster. Prayers for those having to deal with it.
Geez, looks like a bomb went off 😢
In a way , it did.
Never in my memory has a hurricane gut punched these mountain communities this way. Most of the time they either come from the Atlantic coast, or if they go through the gulf they aren't nearly strong enough to carry so much water so far north. This is really unprecedented.
Geo engineered
it happens all the time. thats why those mountains are so weathered and worn down. millions of years of this same thing.
we just live on a tiny spec of the timeline so you dont see it
I expected severe flooding, but I never expected this severe of devastation. Bad time for insurers, too. It's not just a matter of clean-up, many of these places will practically have to be rebuilt. It's really heartbreaking to see.
The only hopeful thing I find in this is the bird song... surreal
Be careful walking around disasters bring out people who steal and act cruel and stupid be safe😢😢😢
That’s particularly true in Asheville.
Looting already happened in River Arts District.
That's not the typical response to disasters
Really! If you’re watching people are in shock, stop the MSM panic crap!
A lot of supplies are going to be need over the next couple of months to a year. This Longshoreman's strike is about to happen on Oct 1, it's going to affect over 36 ports from the upper east coast down to the Gulf of Mexico, and much needed supplies are going to be sitting offshore with no one to unload them. I hear the Biden administration says they are not going to interfere with the strike, but what is the mood now with so many supplies going to be needed for humanitarian aid, that even the government will need? Will the union put off the strike for a later date? Will Biden intervene?
So no supplies from China, got it.
HURRICAN HELENE HIT LIKE ATOM BOMB -2024??
Helene hit like an atom bomb
Consuming the helpless in its path.
The waters of the deep surged forth
Flooding everything with their wrath.
The storms of life come to everyone
There are none who are immune.
Some approach in our later years
While others come too soon.
Conviction is our emotional union
As we weather the storms of Earth.
Thank God for His amazing grace
Which helps us reveal our worth.
Tears are a love-mates humble gift
When it's time to say goodbye
Though the eyes are wet and swollen
With time and patience they dry.
By Tom Zart!
Nothing is salvageable.
The destructive force of rushing water! There was no wind
I've been to Ashville it's a tragedy
My heart goes out to all those people that affected God bless them
It's very eerie and sad.
📌SAVE😥 The dog🐶🐕🐩🐺 At 4:19 when you entered that structure it could be heard barking!💯💯💯💯💯
This is a tragedy.
Lord be with everyone affected.
Think of all the businesses and the employees’ livelihoods. I feel so horrible knowing what’s to come. This is absolute devastation.
Lost everything in this storm camper jeep. Kids are safe so we're alright. Uncle and aunt lost there house and vehicles. Terrible storm. Can't get out anywhere everywhere is cash only and atms an banks are out of cash. No gas for 60 miles around. Any help is appreciated.
Campers are generally a waste of money anyways (I own one)
Sorry about the Jeep
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Please get the dog out of the vet building somebody!
Praying for those folks. God bless them all.
The death count coming out of NC is insane
They will never cite the real numbers
Insurance companies will go under.......
No they won't or they would be sued into oblivion. Insurance companies have to have the means to cover anything they write in total. Which is why citizens dropped so many customers. They were outside the ability to cover. Makes a great story though. Also, most of this will most likely not be covered as all of it is in a flood zone flood insurance doesn't cover structure only contents and property only covers wind damage and vandalism.
How on earth will they ever clean up this mess and where are they going to go with all that junk? Unbelievable! Mega prayers for all.
Doesn’t look real! wow
Moes is gonna really have to remodel now.
Thank God you weren’t down there when all this happen !Amen
At 35 seconds: "Moe's Remodel coming soon!" yeah apparently so!
I’m in my early 60s and I grew up in Florida and I’ve never seen this kind of devastation.
That Wendy’s had water almost up to the roof.
It is eerily quiet. Strange after so much devastation.
Imagine if this was 200 years ago… the flood 3x as bad… and no modern clean up equipment and safety services.
😳
Was one in 1916 there, this is not the first time
200 years ago? none of those building would be there. population of Asheville in 1850 was 500
lol get back on ya meds
That is part of the problem, way too much development in the valleys.
We live on the otherside of the US..North Idaho..and watching this devastating flood make me.sick at heart for all that you have gone through..and are facing. So many prayers for all of the people hit by this. TERRIBLE
LORD JESUS LOVES YOU. JUST PRAY TO GOD AND REPENT HEARTILY TO ALL SINS. HE WILL HELP YOU, PROTECTS YOU, SAVE YOU, PROVIDES FOODS, NEEDS FOR YOU ETC.
PRAY AND REPENT HEARTILY TO HIM ❤
Hey at least kamala is out campaiging tonight during states of emergency such amazing leadership.
Prepping looks pretty attractive about now eh?
Will , if you store everything in your house no it doesn't.
*Well
Most of the homes are destroyed.😢
Hmmm I don’t know, let’s ask a few of those mountain preppers how their stash is doing 🤷🏼♀️ did it float away like many of the homes, sounded really ignorant
Your mom looks pretty attractive.
You damn right bro bet they wish they had prepared. I agree 100%
dang. are there links to anyplace that we can donate assistance to? people are going to need some help - whatever links with legit background you can provide would be helpful
Gives the feeling like the cameraman was sole survivor doesn't it?
Did you ever find the dog that was barking at the 4:20 mark!?😢
Too sad..😢😢,. God, give those people some strength n hope...❤🙏🙏
0:38 I guess now’s a better time than ever for the Moe’s remodel…
Anybody know if the Biltmore Mansion was hit?
- watched a video earlier and it showed Biltmore village. It was all flooded with standing water. You could search for the village on UA-cam. Not sure if this is the biltmore hotel or something else.
I'd seen videos from that air and, unlike a tornado where everything is flattened, it look horrible but not apocalyptic. These buildings are standing but they are all totally destroyed.....it's freaking unreal. This will take an army to put back together - and it will take awhile, too....a long while.
Impressive
It's absolutely heartbreaking. Unbelievable damage.
Praying for these folks 🙏🏼
There's so much water and debris damage to those structures that they're not even salvageable. A complete write-off. I saw a pile of debris in the background there piled up against a metal tower, must have been 20ft high.
Hope nobody was waiting for parcels from that Fedex building!
Crazy.
Why isn't this national news????
Oh the power of wind and water. We are not in control.
This is so catastrophic to my great state and Ashville NC, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and let's not forget Florida😢
My deepest condolences and prayers for everyone 🙏 .
You showed us the businesses in their catastrophic but what about the homes ? I have lots of friends that live in Asheville, we haven't had phone service until this evening and plenty any of us or without electricity so I haven't heard from anyone 😢
NOT ANOTHER PENNY NEEDS TO GO TO MIGRANTS OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY TILL WE GET OUR SOUTHERN STATES BACK TO NORMAL
If only those billionaire,s would pay their taxes.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration flies Zelinsky here on the taxpayer's dime and he visits a munitions factory to autograph bombs. It's so sick. People better wake up and vote to MAGA.
You sound like an awful human road apple
Heartbreaking damage that simply takes my breath away. Thank you to Live Storms Media for excellent, steady camera work minus the incessant patter of announcers that seems to plague most other channels.
Feel sorry for all . Great work with the video , no music and talking . Now that is respect well done . All the best from Australia
My heart is broken. Lives are affected and livings destroyed. I am so sick of politics failing our country when it comes to caring for victims of natural disasters this community is destroyed. Any of us in our beds this evening need to make a donation and thank God. Prayers for Asheville
As Biden sleeps at the beach?
I live in Candler, right outside Asheville. This was an extremely traumatic event, our whole farm flooded. We could not find food anywhere. No cell phones. electricity, water, internet, no atms, little cash.
Blessings to you. Hope you found help.
😢
They will build back next to the damn rivers .
Somebody pleeeeeeease go check that vet hospital for animals!
This is what a flash flood looks like in 2024. I bet none of it was insured for flooding.
What's even more eerie is how quiet it is with no cars or typical "city" noises. Like a ghost town
It's unreal how fast everything is happening.
If this happened in NC, I could just imagine what SC would look like.
Western NC and eastern TN got the worst of it.
@@jasonwhite1743 Well I'm surprised SC didn't get it as bad seeing that SC is further south.
There’s entire towns wiped out in NC. It’s bad all around.
@@jasonwhite1743 That's funny how it's the small towns that get hit the worst. Same with tornadoes and fires.
I’m on the NC/SC border. The Pee Dee river is a few miles from me. The mountains can’t get rid of that much water in a short period. I hope they can find a lot of the people that are missing.
Wow… I remember standing on that overpass behind Moe’s when it flooded in 2004. It’s hard to believe that the water was 6 feet higher the other day… raising all the building elevations a few feet didn’t matter apparently.
How did that destruction compare?
I followed that previous storm from the Gulf of Mexico up to Asheville thinking I was retreating to the mountains. We lost a pond dam in South Georgia and then I lost electricity and had to boil water at my house… Biltmore Village looks way worse in this video from what I remember. The water must have nearly reached the first floor ceilings.
Heartbreaking is 💔 as in the days of Noah, but no one is listening to God. America is going to get worse. People need to be prepared😢😢😢🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is not the first hurricane there ,worse In 1916
some of those places look fixable - ethers.... not so much
You will not want to fix any of those places. Water gets into all spaces, crevices, everywhere. Mold begins to form causing sinus, lung, and other issues for folks. All of this needs taken down and disposed of in the dump. Please wear masks to keep the mold spores and other hazards from entering your systems.
Prayers to everyone affected by this storm. 🙏🏻
just brutal, so sorry for everyone effected by this
It's flashbacks to Katrina!!!
I'm in Michigan and after Katrina, we got some strong winds coming up from the south. Our dog had his nose in the air; I swear he was smelling the death and destruction. Our cat went crazy and clawed my arm. At the hospital, the nurses were saying that they kept getting really weird animal attack cases. Our fur babies knew.
Darpa and Haarp weather manipulation.
Take that you liberals!
It’s a war zone alright
The whole place is destroyed.
It doesn't look natural.
Those cars will end up in the used market as "low miles, no low-ball offers"
Overused joke
MY HART BREAKS 💔
Is This GAZA ???
