Everyone has a price. If Texas didn't come after Schlossnagle, another Power 2 school would have. With the insurmountable wealth gap created by the tv media rights deals of the SEC & Big Ten, all other conferences will be relegated to being farm systems for the Power 2.

@kimcoulter806 If Texas can pull coaches away from SEC rivals, then what chance do any other school outside of the SEC & Big Ten have to retain their coaches? That was the whole point of Kurtz Big 12 post.

Technically, Schloss was in line for the Texas job after Del Conte got the AD job at Texas.
If not for the Texas-A&M rivarly and Schlossnagle’s botched post-A&M/Tenn press conference, there would not be a story here.
The term student athlete is out the window as is a coach being at a school for twenty years (kudos to Mark Few). How much money is enough? Every coach in college athletics is paid many times more than the people who buy the tickets, so how much is enough? Maybe it’s time for the saudis and Chinese to invest in NCAA athletics.
The days of a player/COACH with integrity, respect, honest following through with promises are over! Everything is about money and manipulation the days of goals, promise and being loyal and a man to your word have been flushed down the toilet!!! I hate to say it but from the top to bottom this kind of stuff is ruining what made our college athletes great but also our country!!!
I think Kelly Maxwell wouldve been a better example. I think she got the bigger last laugh en route to a natty. But Im not mad at ya for pandering to your viewership.
As an Arkansas fan, I hate both A&M and Texas. But, it is what it is. Players can leave coaches can leave. Nothing is sacred anymore. It's the nature of modern college sports.
In this instance. I am sure I speak for Aggies also. For certain I speak for the members of my family who are Aggies. Neither one of us think about Arkansas nevermind hate you.

He's a textbook narcissist. They beat around the bush and they think they're entitled to whatever version of truth in the moment. They will never give a straight terse answer. In today's world, we know how narcissists are. There's no way he will ever be an honest coach, husband, or father. This never ends well. The best thing to have happened was for him to expose himself in front of the world. From here, he will only get worse.

When Schloss says he left his family for the A&M job, he failed to mention that he had an extramarital affair which led to a messy divorce. Schloss is a good coach but not a good person. He used to overuse pitchers at TCU which ruined arms.
So what does that say about a&m then? You think all these aggies would be bashing him if he was still there? They were ready to build him a statue, give me a break

The timing was the point. We never forget about the Aggies leaking our SEC announcement. Nor did we forget about them lobbying other SEC institutions to vote against us. Don't start a fight if you don't want to fight.
If not for TexAgs discovering what was about to happen, the official announcement probably would have come a day or two later. It’s time of like what happened when A&M folks found out that Texas and OU had made a deal to join the SEC. That leaked, before it should have.
That coach is a liar. All needs is some orange makeup and a wig and he could run for President.
