- VLOGMAS DAY 16!!! Got some sad news today... someone put an offer in on that beautiful house I fell in love with... aka im definitely not getting it lol. SAD. But on the other hand... there are some potential even MORE EXCITING options for my big "move back to Toronto" plan! We also go to this amazing drive through light show with definitely lifted the mood hahaha!

AHHH so sad... someone put an offer in on the house I wanted :((( definitely thought it wouldn't sell so fast... but I guess it is what it is. Had to make the smarter move and hold off on putting in my own offer until I'm back in LA... oh wellllll!

Fixer upper 100%, a lot more work but I’m a fussy biatch and I know I’d want to change so much of a house to suit my taste, new or old, so makes better financial sense to go for a fixer upper and fix it up! and such an exciting process too! ☺️♥️
I would personally want something new unless I had the time and money to buy a fixer upper, because then you could make it more personalized

I've seen a few vloggers worrying about vlogmas being boring but it is sooo comforting to watch other people just living the quarantine life. Maybe I'm just a weirdo but it really is nice to know I'm not the only one just hanging out at home.

If you lost the house then it wasn’t meant to be something better is around the corner I’m sure. I wanted to thank you very much for sharing your life with us on the Internet. I just passed my daughter’s 22nd anniversary of her passing. She passed when she was 17 so I never got to see her grow up and get to do all these wonderful things.Getting to watch you grow up and make all these life decisions is very heartwarming. Omg I feel like building a house would be such a rewarding experience. It may be a slower process and a bit stressful, but at the end of the day, you will be able to make the house exactly how you want it without having to make toooo many compromises!! Some vlogmas ideas whilst your in lockdown just incase you want some inspo! Order a gingerbread house kit and decorate, bake & decorat Christmas cookies, your 2020 favourites (ie. Spotify playlists, brands, clothing items, TV shows, you tube channels etc! Anything that's been a fave for you this year!), a zoom (or facetime!) collab with Jill where you interview each other for the vlog! (Sort of like Rollingstone where artists interview each other! Id love this!), a photo album share with your Mama (maybe you could show us some baby Tara photos and share some cute stories!).... hope something here might help you whilst you're struggling for ideas in lockdown! Love you! ❤

While it may sound scary to build a house from the ground up, it’s actually not that hard when it’s a new build construction company doing it for you. You get choices, but it’s not like every choice in the world. They give you a choice of layouts, you pick which one works best for you. You get a choice of flooring, you already know which type works best because you change your floors in LA, and so on. In many ways doing renos on a house is harder because you have soooo many choices in everything. If you want tile, there a million tiles out there, and you have to source them. Builder companies do that for you. While some may allow you get your own, most of the time the cost isn’t worth it. But, still it’s nice to have people who have gone through the process before to guide you!

You are trying to rush something. Rushing things don't work out. You just moved into the place you are in. You still have the place in LA. Settle in to what is. I get it. Sitting in the now is hard af, but it is all sorts of rewarding in the end. It's also harder now that we are stuck in quarantine and not much else to think about. Don't stop dreaming or planning, but slow down enough to live in the moment. The best advice I was given and could pass along, is that it's about the journey, not the destination.

I feel like she should wait until she's settled down because a lot can change, especially since she eventually wants a family if i remember correctly. I don't want her to feel tied to the house which will influence other life decisions that are sure to come.

So sorry about the house. I always look at disappointments like that as something telling me it wasn’t right for me whether or not I felt that it was. I’ve also been watching the laurdiy vlogs and she mentioned how she has not left her house at all or had anyone on her vlogs but they are still entertaining. Please do not feel stressed or like you have to do things to create content for us. I personally love watching you videos simply because I love your personality and enjoy hearing about you and your day. Your personality and positive attitude are infectious and I can’t tell you how many time your videos have cheered me up!

Hey Tara! Let me know if you have any questions, I work for a project builder (building company) and the scariest part of building is actually just the contract! You pay for your tender (site surveys to check they can build), and then you pay 5% at contract (finalising changes to the floorpan) and then after that you wait until the slab's poured to begin making payments to the builder. As long as you keep ontop of your site inspector to make sure that the house is being built on time and to code correctly, it's actually not too bad of a process! This is AU's process but I'm sure its pretty similar.
Please dont make the mistake of buying the first place u see without thinking now, just because u lose youre dream house. You could make a mistake so dont feel under pressure.
I would be OBSESSED with watching you go through the design/build process for your very own house! It could be really cool not having to convert a bedroom to the office or arrange the furniture in the only way that works but actually get to truly design the perfect house for you and your life!
