You are also providing your child with the tools to learn about and experience the world as it is. As you've shown in your video, many Montessori learning materials can be made at home - the key is time and care to make the world accessible for your child (safely).

I presume you don't entertain/have guests at home then? It looks great for the child, but it's like you walk in the kindergarten. Where is/are adult only spaces? O_o
@angua65 the child is integrated into the adult spaces. The "adult-only" space is probably just the parent's room. This is a human child living with their parents not an ape who should be kept in a seperate room, your guests will not be offended that your home looks like a daycare and if they are offended then you probably need more mature friends who puts the life if your child above their own wants of visiting a home that has children but looks like it doesn't

I'm in my first trimester and taking serious notes. I love how independent she is able to be. One of my husband's worries about being a father is losing his independence to constantly look after a little one, at least when I'm not around/need a break. I think this strategy will help us significantly.
I'm reading: he wants you to do everything and keep his independence and fears when you're not able to do everything at certain times and lose the independence .. in that case.. divorce
It’s your life but please analizar those words carefully. This sounds like traditional misogynistic expectations from a man who wants little to no contact with their kid. Having a kid is a responsibility form both parties involved, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a stay a home mom and he’s the breadwinner. My baby is 9 weeks old and I was looking for videos on how to make him self independent when he’s older. I had no idea where to begin, so this video was a fantastic place to start. I don’t have a big space as my home is much smaller. The bed on the floor, bookshelf and the activities for play are the things I will copy. Thank you so much and Alina has a fantastic environment 💕

I just found this video. I have been a Montessorian for 25 years now. I work with the Primary age children. You have a lovely home and have designed it to follow your child's needs beautifully. MM would be impressed. 🙂
Hi! I have been a Montessorian only for 2 years lol and getting comments like this from someone who's Montrssorian for 25 years means a lot to me. Thank you. 😊
Oh sorry I actually didn't know that Montessorian means Montessori teacher, I thought it meant anyone who is loving Montessori method. I just googled it and realised 😅 My apology! It's only been 2 years since I learn about Montessori, still learning!! Once again thank you for your comment! 😊
Also not a mom here, but so touched by the methods and ideas...wish I could have experienced that kind of environment as a child. Very impressed by the love and dedication ❤️
Expecting father here and I'm very impressed by your video. I'm discussing with my wife how we should implement some Montessori methods into our home as well. This is an excellent video depiction and my wife and I are sure to use some of these methods!
Wow it’s really evident how much effort and time you’ve put into each space for Alina to flourish and take on tasks on her own! Amazing! And so inspiring! And a kids sized shoe horn that is something I never would have thought of but I can definitely believe it’s a game changer! Gonna have to get one for my kids!
Hi! Yes it definitely took lots of time and effort in the space but it was labour of love 🥰 The kids shoe horns are the best!! Once kids get a hang of it, they manage putting shoes on all by themselves and this makes our morning so much easier, especially when we are in a rush!
This video was suggested to me on the front page. I don't even have children and I don't really plan to have any in the future, but I've always admired the Montessori mindset and the importance of independence for children. Huge kudos to you for being an amazing parent and for raising your gorgeous daughter this way! 🥰 (Also, the inner child in me grew jealous the longer I watched the video. The bedroom, the tiny kitchen, the sensory activity table, the whole play room, everything!! I would have loved to have all those opportunities as a child! 😍)
I am so touched and absolutely charmed by the amount of love and care you have put into creating this environment for your daughter to learn independent skills at her own pace. I love that she is able to participate in food prep and cleanup in an age-appropriate way, and to do a lot of self-care. Montessori methods are so amazing! And you’re a wonderful mom.
Your house is incredible. I have three year old twins. I try to encourage their independence wherever I can but our house is a disaster and we're on a tight budget. Your extra toy storage made me smile. Thank you for keeping things real. 🥰
What a beautiful set up! Huge props to you ! And Alina (I love that you don't show her face! Giving her privacy)is loving it and thriving! Well done mama!
I love how you set up the area for your child to be engaged with you. I work with kids so I know how benefits these set up that you have done for you child
Wow, hats off for your creativity and dedication!! So touching to hear "trust your child" and letting them learn values by experience, not just being told to. When I grow old I wish more adults around me to have mindset like Alina
I wish the same! Hope there are more kind, caring and loving adults who has a healthy mindset when we are older 🥰 Your comment made my day thank you so much.
Love love love this. It's adorable! My boys had an Ikea play kitchen for a few years but we got rid of it because they stopped playing with it! However I have always kept their dishes in a low cabinet, and each of them started learning to unload the dishwasher when they were 3 and loved matching things. Here was the progression, and it can be adjusted depending on the child: 3-4: unload silverware 5-8: unload silverware and their dishes, reload silverware 9+ (or once they can reach all the cabinets): unload whole dishwasher, start learning to load whole thing.
I think the Montessori idea is much better than a play kitchen, because children have their own real utensils etc and do not just play with them but learn to do real things. Children get easily bored with a toy stove, fake food and such.
I'm new to learning about Montessori, but it is very intriguing. I can see how it would definitely encourage independence. And, I can actually see how it could help kids learn to clean up instead of tasks just feeling so out of reach... literally. I have 5 kids, and am excited to try to make the home and works more accessible to my children.
I hope you will learn from studying Montessori the power of "offering" lessons as opposed to 'imposing" them, or "cajoling" them. the set up is certainly impressive and is very helpful, but it is the freedom to engage or not to engage in an activity that makes all the difference . All these activities are a joy for the child when they are freely chosen. Good luck to you!
this really made me reflect on how our fears for letting children grow and learn and make a mess and figure things out implies that we don’t think they’re capable in the first place and so we don’t give them the chance to learn (therefore confirming our beliefs).
And I just realised in doing my son a disservice by "protecting" him from the things I have mistakenly believed were beyond his skill set. It's time to reevaluate how I'm teaching him and to start introducing him to more opportunities to learn and be independent.
Just amazing! Beautiful and conscientious. I love how you use trial and error and observation keeping what works and continually improving what doesn't. She knows she is loved.
As a mother of 4 and having worked in a nursery I absolutely loved this video . You are lucky enough to have the space to do what most of us dream of doing but absolutely we can all adapt for our children even if we live in small spaces
My whole house basically just as big as her living room haha, but I agree with you, we can adapt the ideas, I think a learning chair would be helpful for kids to access things, be sure to watch them all the time though
Ok, I'll admit I had no idea what to expect. This is amazing! I love how you've empowered her. There are definitely things I would do differently, mostly because I have ADHD and my baby probably will too (cause it tends to be genetically linked), like continuing to use plastic and not glass or ceramic, but the ideas are awesome. I hope you have other Montessori videos cause I'm fixing to start hunting for them! Thank you for making this!
To add context, people with ADHD often drop things because our hands just open without us trying to do it. So, if it's an important object I, a 30 year old woman, will hold it with 2 hands to make sure I don't drop it. 😅
Of course you can do things that work for you and your baby 😊 Thanks for watching and I make mostly Montessori related videos so stay tuned for upcoming ones! 😉
I went to Montessori school from 1th to 5th grade. We were mixed so 1-3th graders was in the same class, ans then they mixed 4-5th graders, with the intention to learn from each other and get a more versitile class. We also had free schedule, so we could do "whatever" we wanted to, so we would learn more from play rather than planned lessons. Don't know if it was successful in all aspects.. 😄
Love this! I have 2 nieces under one and when my other niece was a baby I always child proof but now I have 3 nieces 11 year old, 10 months, 2 months and my 3 pets 😅 so I have to be careful about how I place things around my apartment. My older niece was always okay with my dog but I have 2 cats and love how you have this so functional for your kiddos.
Best video for babies to learn how to be independent from a very early age . I don't why it's not yet gone viral. It's a very educational video Every parent should watch this
Your care and love for your daugther and her growth is so evident in the functionality and practicality of the accommodations you made for her and her independence in your home. Giving me hope for the future here 🙏✨
This is amazing! I love how accessible everything is for her and provides opportunities for learning and independence. I also love how you incorporated the KonMari method and how everything is so beautifully organized. I wonder how one could apply these techniques in a home with many children of different ages.
Great childrens kitchen (Kinderküche) with real water! Also great learning tower (lernturm), similar to climbing chair (Kletterstuhl). Some of Alinas furniture looks similar to what my 3 (now adult) children they visited Montessori Kinderhaus (Kindergarden) and school. Our children had a (danish Flexa self mountable) loft bed with space on the ground and colorfull windowed-curtains to play house/kitchen, a table desk to play merchant shop or Kasper theatre, our son had an IKEA loft bed with childrens slide and train signal on top. We got into Montessori as my wifes uncles & aunts were teacher.
I'm not even done with the video and I've already subscribed! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I'm also a working mom; my hubby and I are both remote with our 14 month old at home. I want to rework things so it's a learning environment as I don't think she'll be at school until about the 2 year mark. This is ideal 👌🏾 thanks so much!
Thanks for subscribing 🥰 Alina goes to daycare only 2 days a week and the best thing about this setup is that I don't have to constantly entertain her, she does lots of things on her own and learned to entertain herself and keep herself busy!
I loved this video! What an intentional, loving and respectful home you have clearly worked hard to create! I am very happy I found your channel. It is so inspiring!
I think the toy rotation and display is really smart. As a little kid I had trouble finding my toys, and I was really attatched to most of them, even If I hadn't played with them for months. I had a lot of trouble choosing which ones were going to be donated after years of having them stored and seeing them every single day (but not necessarily playing).
No clue why youtube suggested this since I'm in my mid 50s with no kids, but darn it if I didn't learn quite a bit! These techniques were super interesting and it made me wish this video had been available ages ago when my friends' kids were this age.
Thank you so much for your inspirational ideas. I love your details and functional yet practical way of making a home so dedicated of bringing up a toddler. This really make my motherhood so much more interesting and meaningful. Thanks a lot.
I am so amazed. My mind is absolutely blown. I would love to do something like this for my son, even though I don't have the same amount of space, I don't think it really makes a difference, making room for her and her spaces is so important. This is all so new to me, I just clicked on this randomly. Have you always done Montessori or was this a new journey you started? How old is your daughter? My son is 3 and very bright, but I have always felt I wasn't maximizing his potential. I just accepted the electronic toys and the tele like my parents did for me, i know, not always wise to do what you were taught especially since i often felt empty as a child and worry over my son feeling the same way all the while not knowing the alternative to what I've learned in my life. I once asked about Montessori and watched a couple videos but nothing as simple and to the point as this one. The other ones I watched basically said it was probably too late to make the switch. But I feel like this would relax my child greatly and eliminate the bordum and tantrums after he learns to move around and function in the new set up. I love it, thank you so much!
Pleasure is all mine. I feel so grateful to see your comment. yes you are exactly right about it, it's not about the size of space, it's more about giving them chance to be independent whether it's something as simple as being able to pick out your own outfit. I do feel that ever since we setup our home the Montessori way, I found my daughter a lot more engaged and focused on daily tasks that's happening around the house, and she is more aware of her surroundings and she enjoys being able to do so much things on her own without having to rely on me all the time, which i think reduces tantrums a lot as well.. hope you and your son enjoys your new montessori space and wish you good luck!! xx
Thank you for reminding parents that children will break things like their glassware, but that's how they learn things break. So many parents say to me, "but aren't they going to break it" and I'm like yeah, probably!
well, it depends on how much your heart is attached to the things they break, I guess. I used to have two favourite mugs - my dogs already managed to shatter one of them by knocking it off the coffee table, so now I am keeping the other one out of reach from paws and little hands. ^^
My baby is only 3 months when she already had an bookshelf like yours (also a Bilingual home) - I loved your video, very inspirational. Very creative, seems affordable ideas as well.. (Montessori labeled stuff can be very pricey). Def subscribed to your channel.

This is so awesome. This is something I've been so interested in implementing since I became a mother last year. It's been a struggle trying to find the energy and time to do it with all of life's happenings coming at me at once...but now that my daughter is one year old and things are starting to settle down (and I'm able to get a bit more sleep 🤣) I really want to try and start implementing some of things in a way that's applicable for me and her. I officially became your subscriber after seeing this. Beautiful job done mom! Love to see your daughters independence and confidence flourish. I'm so excited to finally try and tackle this. How do you deal with messes, as this is something that I'm currently struggling with. I love to do the baby led weaning....it's just so messy that sometimes I skip out on it just so I don't have to clean up everything 😭😭😭😭😭
This is so cute. Part of me does wonder if it makes it hard when kids go to public school or out in the world in situations that are not hyper organized; do they struggle if things aren’t as easily accessible and laid out like they are used to?

I've never seen a household like this. It is amazing how it teaches children to be independent. Great video!
Hi! Yes it definitely took lots of time and effort in the space but it was labour of love 🥰
The kids shoe horns are the best!!
(Also, the inner child in me grew jealous the longer I watched the video. The bedroom, the tiny kitchen, the sensory activity table, the whole play room, everything!! I would have loved to have all those opportunities as a child! 😍)
Yes. It was relaxing to watch the video too
Your are the best teachers ever…she’s already doing so much for her age…just imagine how independent she’ll be when she’s a big girl…
What a great environment for Alina 😄 it must be very empowering to be able to do so many thing for herself 🌸
I'm just starting the video and I love how at 0:28, you have a wall of art at her level. Art is not just for grown-ups to enjoy. Very well done.
“Trust your child, cause they will learn”. I love this! I love Montessori for children!
Incredible and beautiful home and environment for Alina to grow. Everything looks so safe but realistic. Incredible!!
What a beautiful set up! Huge props to you ! And Alina (I love that you don't show her face! Giving her privacy)is loving it and thriving! Well done mama!
I love how you set up the area for your child to be engaged with you. I work with kids so I know how benefits these set up that you have done for you child
OMG I love this so much! I've always said if I'm blessed with a kid I want to go the Montessori route, but this just blew my mind and I love it. ❤
She is so adorable! I love that you put everything in her power to take if she chooses .
Wow.... wakes up alone and starts her day, waiting for her parents to wake up she picks an activity and keeps herself entertained 😲💥
Wow, hats off for your creativity and dedication!! So touching to hear "trust your child" and letting them learn values by experience, not just being told to. When I grow old I wish more adults around me to have mindset like Alina
I wish the same! Hope there are more kind, caring and loving adults who has a healthy mindset when we are older 🥰
Your comment made my day thank you so much.
Wow, my toddler would thrive in this home. Amazing
Love love love this. It's adorable! My boys had an Ikea play kitchen for a few years but we got rid of it because they stopped playing with it! However I have always kept their dishes in a low cabinet, and each of them started learning to unload the dishwasher when they were 3 and loved matching things. Here was the progression, and it can be adjusted depending on the child:
3-4: unload silverware
5-8: unload silverware and their dishes, reload silverware
9+ (or once they can reach all the cabinets): unload whole dishwasher, start learning to load whole thing.
I think the Montessori idea is much better than a play kitchen, because children have their own real utensils etc and do not just play with them but learn to do real things. Children get easily bored with a toy stove, fake food and such.
She's almost more independent than I am. (I'm 27 with severe anxiety) I wish I had this as a kid. Makes me want to cry, honestly.
I have no idea why I clicked on this nor do I think I'll watch this channel again, but I love this idea and plan to use it someday
The low drawer for dishes is brilliant! Truly thinking outside of the box.
"trust your child cuz they will learn" period!
I just can‘t believe how smart this is
Hazie , YOU ARE AMAZING !!
She knows she is loved.
forget about all the benefits, this is just plain adorable omggggg
As a mother of 4 and having worked in a nursery I absolutely loved this video . You are lucky enough to have the space to do what most of us dream of doing but absolutely we can all adapt for our children even if we live in small spaces
Yes i feel grateful to have space like this and to be able to share it with others 🥰
My whole house basically just as big as her living room haha, but I agree with you, we can adapt the ideas, I think a learning chair would be helpful for kids to access things, be sure to watch them all the time though
This is impressive. I had none of this growing up, but I was a latch key kid so I think I just learned by using all the adult stuff anyway.
The book with the fruits and veggies may just be the coolest thing ever.
Could you please tell us which book it is? Would you happen to know if by any chance there is an equivalent in english?? Thank you
Ok, I'll admit I had no idea what to expect.
Of course you can do things that work for you and your baby 😊
Thanks for watching and I make mostly Montessori related videos so stay tuned for upcoming ones! 😉
@@Crescentmoony I have adhd and I’ve never had my hands just open unwillingly… what?
I don't plan on ever having kids, but I am a nanny. I nanny for family that does montisory style. This is educational. Can't wait to be an aunt.
You're giving her such good possibilities to play and learn. Just great! 👍🏻😍
I can see all the effort and love you put into these spaces 💖 Thanks for sharing!
It's a very educational video Every parent should watch this
Aww thank you 😊 xx
Your care and love for your daugther and her growth is so evident in the functionality and practicality of the accommodations you made for her and her independence in your home. Giving me hope for the future here 🙏✨
This is amazing! I love how accessible everything is for her and provides opportunities for learning and independence. I also love how you incorporated the KonMari method and how everything is so beautifully organized. I wonder how one could apply these techniques in a home with many children of different ages.
Loved this video thank you for sharing! Congrats on 1 million views 🎉 that’s huge xx
Wow, this is awesome! Creating an independent kiddo.
I wish every parent could see this! Fantastic.
This is very eye opening. I’m happy I finally clicked in and watched the whole thing. Thank you very much for sharing. I’m a follower now!
So impressed with this! You did an AMAZING job of making an independent little lady!
Thanks for subscribing 🥰
Alina goes to daycare only 2 days a week and the best thing about this setup is that I don't have to constantly entertain her, she does lots of things on her own and learned to entertain herself and keep herself busy!
I loved this video! What an intentional, loving and respectful home you have clearly worked hard to create! I am very happy I found your channel. It is so inspiring!
Hi Emily, glad you find my channel inspiring! 😊 thank you!
Your Montessori home is the absolute best! Your video was high quality. I am subscribing so I can learn from your wealth of knowledge.
I love it! Love that you put the art at her level to, very considered.
I do feel that ever since we setup our home the Montessori way, I found my daughter a lot more engaged and focused on daily tasks that's happening around the house, and she is more aware of her surroundings and she enjoys being able to do so much things on her own without having to rely on me all the time, which i think reduces tantrums a lot as well.. hope you and your son enjoys your new montessori space and wish you good luck!! xx
this is amazing! thank you for the inspiration. you're an awesome parent.
This is so impressive! I love her little kitchen. So well done.
late but WOW....never thought of cotton pads to wash face and reduce water waste and still teach independence. gonna get some!
Thank you for sharing! It’s so helpful and inspiring. Also, you’re very creative!!! Well done mama!!!
I’ll be organising our home with your tips!
Hazie you are an absolute genius with such excellent gift of teaching, love for your daughter, and heart to help others, a true Mother! Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Alina is beautiful, smart and caring, great job! I love your videos, they are so inspiring and helpful for my family! GOD bless you in JESUS name! Xxx
Omg i am deeply touched by your kind words and blessing. Thank you so so much 🥰🥰🥰🥰 xx
I am impressed with your setup. Actually this is the first time I have heard of this method and it seems great
I am so glad yt recommended this video! Thank you so much! This was a huge help!!
I got my nephew a realistic white potty that made a flush noise too. 😊 i got it to encourage him to want to do what his parents (especially dad) do 😊
This is amazing! I can see how much thought went into the setup of each area☺️
I watched this video and my only thought was that not all heroes wear capes 🙌
Its beautiful!! I have been doing similar stuff at home with my 2 yr old. And i love to see these videos and get more inspired 🥰
Thank you for sharing where you purchased the socket cover! I tried to find them online but couldn’t find the right size. You are a life saver!
Fostering brilliance and independence simultaneously
Cotton pads idea is brilliant. I will be implementing them. Thank you.
This is so cute. Part of me does wonder if it makes it hard when kids go to public school or out in the world in situations that are not hyper organized; do they struggle if things aren’t as easily accessible and laid out like they are used to?
What a beautiful way to raise children 🎀💞🎀
What an amazing set up! I'm a Montessori kindergarten teacher and I'm seeing lots of similarities.
amazing how you set this up for your child. thank you for making this video.
