your videos are awesome, fun, informative, they cover it all, thanks for sharing, continued success, CHEERS!, i live a ways away in Edmonton but really need to try and get out there for some of those larger lake trout,
I'm glad you like my videos. Make sure you subscribe if you haven't already. I have some more lake trout videos coming soon. Also, if you love eating fish, give kokanee fishing a try when you come this way. I have a full playlist of kokanee videos you can watch that might help you.
Nice video and good info. I do like Mack's and Paulina Peak tackle (Kokanee Kid fishing is another good one). I have a 17' Lund and fishing wind was almost impossible on a hot bite, but we bought a Minn Kota Terrova and what a game changer. Even with the top up we can control the boat in wind. We are often the last boat out. Thanks again for sharing the great info
I'm glad you liked it. Paulina Peak and Mack's Lure make some great stuff. I would love a bow mounted motor one day on any sized boat I have. I've been getting into jigging for multiple species and really like it. A bow mounted motor with anchor lock would be amazing. It would also be amazing for trolling in the wind giving me more time to focus on fishing.
Thanks for all the videos! I just purchased a family boat to handle some of the bigger lakes in BC.. really looking forward to trying your methods for Kokanee..much appreciated 👍🏻
@@FougereFamilyAdventures I live in the Okanagan so Wood lake, Kalamalka are my first lakes to try this year. We are definitely going to try Bridge lake once the kiddos are done school for the year..My down riggers showed up today! I'm pumped!
@@ryanzaworski that's great news. Downriggers are a lot of fun. I have been wanting to fish Kalamalka lake for some time now. There are big fish in there. Good luck when you get out there.
Ben I watched this again, and what I do when its windy is to motor up wind as far as you can then I troll back with the wind using my electric motor for control and speed adjustment as needed. This works well even on the larger lakes.
I agree with that method. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time that day as I was marking HUGE schools and did not want to miss the action. This is definitely a great tip and I use the drifting with the wind technique often. 👌
Another great video. Can I ask, is there a lake /resort that comes to mind around there that has a nice resort for the wife to enjoy in our 5th wheel, while I get out in the belly boat?
If I remember right, Ruth Lake lodge had campsites, but it's been a while since I've been there. If you're looking for a place for the 5th wheel and a lake that is relatively small for a belly boat, give Russ and Michelle a call at Moosehaven Resort on Hathaway Lake. It's by far one of my favorite resorts in the Cariboo.
At minute 15 of your video you show the hook you are set up with. I've gone through great debate with different answers about the double hook set up. Now i want your opinion on the topic. Is two single hooks with no barbs on one lure still considered a 'Single Barbless Hook'? Keep up with the great videos, your time spent making them is appreciated.
I would read the fishing regulations. While they are sometimes not as clear as they could be, they should state that in there. If fishing a river or stream in BC, you most definitely need single (1 hook) barbless
Ben I was there in June caught lots of nice sized kokanee, going back in September. I used Brads cut plugs at 23 feet, Where are your boys ? they should with you,
very busy active challenging segment Ben, lot going on at once, fun watch-well done🙂✌️
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.

Excellent work out there man! Super tough conditions but you stuck with it and it paid off!
Thanks. It was a long, slow start and then it was lights out action. Wish I had a second person in the boat that day. 😀

My Dad built our family cabin there in the late 50's. I've pulled a lot of fish out of that very beutiful lake over the years.❤
That's great to hear. Ruth is definitely a fun lake to fish and float around on.
You make some of the best videos Ben
Thank you. I try to do my best and strive for continuous improvement. I think my audio has been getting better.

Wind and fishing spells work, well done !
Thanks. I love fishing and learning how to catch fish if every condition the weather throws at us is a challenge I'm willing to accept. 😀

I agree. I left the family at home this trip. This was a trip for just me to unwind and explore.
Slaying em out there!!
You bet. It was a day to remember!
Very nice brother👍👍big fish

Thank you. Me too ✋

I take it that you live in Canada. How do you get paulina peak tackle
Yes. British Columbia, Canada. I ordered mine from their website.
@FougereFamilyAdventures thank you
I've always wanted to get some. Definitely going to get that micro hoochie
@@michaelbutler5956 you won't be disappointed. Micro hoochies are amazing.
Are those clamp on rod holder bases?
We use Scotty oar lock mounts. You can choose your route holder style or any scotty products to go in them.
hi Ben what kind of hoochie where you using
I was using a Paulina Peak Tackle hoocie:

Hi Ben, what size are the hooks?
I believe I was using size 1. I like to use bigger hooks.
Does anyone know what make of net Mr Fougere is use. The handle is super long.
The net I'm using is an Ego slide net. I love it. Here's my review video on it: ua-cam.com/video/FTuFSpJHJhw/v-deo.htmlsi=zVae6MJgEDBMFx6d
