I'm going to make this for my dog who has elbow dysphasia. I have made bone broth before for myself, but never thought of adding egg shells. I have a ton of egg shells I've saved. I grind them up and put them in my dogs food. I've always wondered if their body is able to digest them to get their benefit, this sounds more viable.

Great Video! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - Schallingora Complete Resetting Scheme (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for curing arthritis minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my close friend Aubrey finally got great results with it.

I hope so Nat! It takes a LOT of work! Be persistent!
I always like your videos.
You made this 10 years ago? I think you were ahead of your time, Brett, or maybe I'm just behind the times! I'm working on extracting Nicotinamide and NAD from baker's and brewer's yeast. I'll use the spent, dead yeast cell residue for the relatively high glucosamine content. Then I'll add white vinegar to get some N-Acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc).
For the highest glucosamine content in meal and food processing waste, the ranking is first to last (according to ChatGPT, which isn't always correct):
- Shellfish Shells (e.g., shrimp, crab)
- Cooked Poultry and Fish Bones
- Spent Brewer's Yeast
- Spent Baker's Yeast
- Bone Meal
- Fruit and Vegetable Peelings
Thanks for your kitchen chemistry video. Even after 10 years, it's still high-value content for the DIYer!
Thanks for your comment! I'm grinding egg shells today. Add to food in powdered form.
Have you looked up if heat affects the G & C? I wonder that because I roast the egg shells so they don't spoil before I grind them.
Oh and also, I don't eat chicken anymore unless I grow it myself. It's all Cornish Cross breed and not raised right.
Here's one: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2711914/
Here's another one: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S175646462400121X
@@VitalityMassage Yep, here's info on temperature ranges
Yeast, bacteria, fungi fermentation:
The temperature range for proofing baker's yeast typically falls between
100°F to 110°F (37°C to 43°C).
The optimal temperature range for yeast growth and NAD synthesis is typically between 25°C and 37°C (77°F to 98.6°F)
Temperatures below 100°F may not activate the yeast effectively, while
temperatures above 110°F can potentially kill the yeast cells, rendering them
ineffective for fermentation.
Inactive yeast can be frozen without any degradation.
Enzymes, vitamins, peptides, amino acids and hydrolysis:
Temperature range that optimizes enzyme activity while minimizing degradation of enzymes like bromelain, papain, amalase, lipase is 40°C to 60°C (104°F to 140°F). I use 125°F.
Freezing can degrade enzymes, phytonutrients and vitamins.
Time and pH can also be a factor in processing out the phytonutrients and vitamins. Keeping pH between 5 - 7 for most hydrolytic processes is good, but because the N-Acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) and Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) extraction requires acetyl group (vinegar), the pH will be lower. That's to be expected.
I powder eggshells to make DIY toothpaste, and I also use it and powdered bones as garden soil amendments. I rinse the albumin off the eggshells and juices off bones, then let them dry and pile up at room temperature until I have enough to grind. I don't notice any off-flavor in the eggshell when kept at room temperature. The fat in the bones goes off and I can smell the typical rancid odor that I associate with old vegetable oil from the grocery stores. So, it is probably best, if you are going to eat bone broth, to keep them frozen, if you can't process them for the glucosamine right away.
Because I'm not eating the bones, I don't mind the fat degradation. Whatever is decomposing it - bacteria, fungus, enzymes - is useful in the garden too.
@@VitalityMassage Good idea to not eat much of the commercial and industrial foods. Veg, grains, pulses have glyphosates and other endocrine disrupting herbicides and pesticides. There's a new preservative coating for fruits and veg called APEEL that Gates invested in. The coating has heavy metals in it. They are GMOing veg and fruit now too. One example is the apple varieties with ARCTIC in their names. The gene modification is to keep the cut apple from turning brown with oxidization. That oxidization is caused by enzymes that we need to digest the apple. Yogurt has a new GMO bacteria that can eat galactose. They use it industry wide to get more water content into yogurt without using biothickeners, like agar and xanthan. The amount of adulteration in the commercial and industrial food industries is the reason I grow and process my own as much as possible. Put in a greenhouse back in 2020, so now I can pretty much live all year off what I grow over the growing season.
The more self-reliant you are the better your health will be, Brett. Enjoy your homegrown chicken...and eggs too??? I'm not allowed to have chickens here in the village. Count your blessings, if you can keep livestock at home.

Brett,I'm not very creative so when I saw you making Glucosamine Chondrontin Broth I said I can do that. Finally maybe I can help my sell with this rheumatoid arthritis that is litterly debilitating me. I thought let's give it a try. I have also heard that night shade plants may aggravate the condition. I will have to research that thought. All the Dr's want to do is push another med that they haven't even taken the time to research that have such terrible side affects and listen to the pharmaceutical reps presentations.
Thanks so much for your opinions and help.
P.S. You are such fun to watch. I love your attitude and you really got me on April fools day. You sure pulled a fast one on everybody. Keep up your good work.
Deadly night shade plants, has I am aware are very toxic (poisonous). So read up on this plant first before using it. Try Celery Seed Capsules they certaintly do work and keep the pain right down. I can walk again without being in pain. Good Luck
Or you could just buy the real Glucosamine?
I love what you are teaching. What was the name of your website again?

The bone broth recipes I've read and used say to simmer for up to 36 hours. 🤔 I use marrow bones as well, they are hard bones, but after cooking for so long they become soft enough so when my dogs chew on them their teeth leave marks on the bone. This is so good for their teeth and gums. The chicken bones are so soft after 36 hours I'm able to grind them in my food processor and add them to the dogs food. Can you tell I love my dogs...😘 🐶

I'm going to try this when I get access to kitchen facilities. I've got the symptoms of RA, and I'm not ready to accept that. As always, thanks my friend.
Hey Janet! I need some traveling buddies to go with me to Dancing Rabbit. Wanna go? Still got energy?
VitalityMassage come on!
i grew up with chicken soup, made from the bones and internal organs, whenever we go sick. We never questioned the science behind it, it just made you feel better, as well as a food that you can keep down.
Yup. Good comment. thanks.
so true but sad that we throw out so much of the good stuff like egg shells and chicken bones instead of using them in
various beneficial ways. one month supply of a good glucosamine/chondroiton costs $100 and one never really knows what's exactly in those pills!
I always try to stick with the natural.
you should do prp treatment once a mouth for a year...
Good video Mr 👽
We're is the box he is tooking about
Hi, I don't suppose you could make a video about how to stretch out and massage calfs/calves? Mine are really tight, and there isn't any good help on the internet, thanks
Tom...First you have to separate them from the mother. Cows can be dangerous.
I had that problem when I started taking D3 with K2 and that helped good luck on your journey
That’s what I’m thinking too
Thank God!
Do you know a good kit that I can use to test the water?
Thank you
No, sorry
Was that a boned out Carcess you used that had not been cooked before ??
I'm just making my own chondroitin extract out of beef bones, but I have my doubts your extract will have any glucosamine in it.
THUMBS UP
Thank you. How long should I boil the bones?
several hours.
Its often recommended for bone broth simmering times that big animals (like cows and elk and sheep) take 48hrs, birds 24hrs and fish bones 12hrs.
Love your videos :)
Much better picture Tom!
VitalityMassage What do you mean? :)
Hum... wrong Tom.
Oh no problem. Thanks the for the video anyway, I've always been told I'm going to get arthritis when I get a little older, does this act as a prevention as well?
Probably.
And I just bought a ton of glucosamine chondroitin tablets but as soon as I learn to do it the natural way bye bye pills 😀
Yes, go with the natural.Hey everybody! Please check out this new video on my other health channel! Just posted today! ua-cam.com/video/a9ImOre_WcQ/v-deo.html Please subscribe to that channel too!
I think ocean fish like grouper head, snapper heads are a lot more safer than chickens. My way of doing it is dump all the gills, bones into a blender like VitaMix with some liquid (vinegar and water), blend them to pulp. Then dump the bone mush into boiling water and make it into soup using a Pressure Cooker. Add leeks for good taste!
and this helps? how rough is it to finish? I'm curious.
@@bethanyephraim2761 still havent done it lol - were all thinking the same! lol
Bassamatic ?
Cooking with Griswalda
My dog has athritis, as much as possible I don't want to give him synthetic medications. He is almost 15.
Go online and find natural glucosamine and chondroitin supplements.
I just made chicken soup & dumped the bones darn it . going to try next chicken do you think a pressure cooker will work at making the bones soft faster?
Probably. Never did that before though.
Don't forget the chief activist Vinegar, for extracting the calcium into the soup

I tried to dethaw my livers, but they stayed frozen.
I was thinking of making this for myself but after reading everyone's comments the making it for their dog... 😅
I'm having soup today for me but I'm also giving some to my dog. :)
Yes, when I went looking for relief for my poor 🐕's arthritis, I was told I had to buy the most expensive brand of dog food to help her. I can't afford to do that so I'm glad I found this. Now I freeze most of my scraps and make my own dog food. Saves a ton of money and she gets the nutrition she needs and I can change it for whatever else might be treatable through diet. Just have to be careful because dogs aren't supposed to consume certain veggies like onion or garlic for example.
How much of this broth should I feed my 55 pound dog for her very bad osteoarthritis? Thank you!
Fresh food is probably the most important thing for dogs. NO dog food especially DRIED dog food.
Vitality Massage thank you! But how much of the broth should I give her? Also, you mentioned that chicken liver is also good. How many?
I give my 80 lb lab 1/2 cup every morning after I warm it up for her
Hi,
I bought Chondroitin Sulfate powder so could u please tell me how can use it for legiment-meniscus pain/treatment?
thx
Altan Erg. did he answer ?
I don't use that. I just do what I show in this video. I've read that the natural is superior and I believe it.
powdered bone broth on amazon 5 lb refill 104.00 - 6 grams protein per tablespoon no flavor add to anything. i use it daily and give it to my pets.

I make it in a slow cooker let it boil for 24 to 48 hours its great hot my favorite tea
Nice.
Pressure cook it for 1 1/2- 2 hours - saves time!
I'm not too into pressure cooking. I like slow cookers. Slow is good when it comes to good health. I do pressure cook for canning.
@@VitalityMassage Pressure Cooking is wonderful. Makes tender roast in 45 min and popping flavor chicken soup in 15 min or Chili in 15 min. Try it. Instant Pot! We use it camping for everything. It can saute too.
@@EagleArrow Do you use the pressure cooking setting for the instant pot or soup/broth setting?
@@austinc691
Pressure Cooking button. 45 min for roast and 15 min for chicken soup. Recipes in booklet with Instant Pot or you can find them online.
@@EagleArrow Thank you. Do you know how long it takes on the pressure cooking setting for beef bones to turn soft?
Is this a sure thing because, somehow an x ray showed that part of my spine in my lumbar area degenerated away.
There's no such thing as a "sure thing". lol
I used to have a water filter like that I stopped using it when I found bacteria was growing very well inside the hidden areas
Why not just clean it regularly?
Vitality Massage. Not worth the trouble when there's other ways of purifying water
I asked you if it would help to boil just the egg shells & drink the broth 4 glucosamine chondroitin on your other video & you claimed you know nothing about boiling - you usually fry your eggs. Was that a silly joke or do you simply not like 2b kind & helpful?
Just drink Kombucha it has these supplements
I do that too.

Yeah, the extract is a chemical extraction. Lucky you're just using apple cider vinegar, that's not an acid at all, and you're not using the same chemical extraction as others are 😂🤦♂️🤡
