I'm 1 minute in and you already hit them with the BIG ONE! I was literally JUST talking with a client about this tonight. I am mixing her 2nd EP and she asked why this one sounds so much better so far. I told her it's because you took all those tips I gave you and you gave me PRISTINE tracks to work with this time! :D
@@MadRezStudios Easy isn't what really matters to me personally it's the quality I can get out of them! Everything just sounds soo freaking good lol. Easy definitely helps tho too!! :D
My favorite tip was vocal comping to get the perfect lead take. I’ve always heard of doing this but the way you broke it down helped me fully understand why I should be doing it from now on
Vocal comping is a must in the professional vocal world. Some artists dont always need to but even some of the most talented artists use the technique to really get the very BEST performance for the song.
You literally just saved my life. I just realized I've been digging my own grave for several months now after watching your video. You have no clue how much time I've spent on UA-cam watching mixing and Mastering videos, my mixes still sounding like crap and me thinking I'm probably just unlucky or bad at mixing when the problem has been bad vocal recordings the whole time. You just got a new subscriber!
Love the bonus tip, vocal presets, very smart for establishing a consistent unique production style. Just like recording artists develop a certain sound, so it is with production artists. For example Quincy Jones had such a unique production sound. You can hear his influence across the board regardless of the artist he was working with and even if you can't name the artist or the song, you know that Quincy produced it.
Your screen saver is exactly what I have on my 55 inch TV all the time I don’t even watch TV I just have that background always moving. I get a lot of inspiration from all the stuff I see and I love the movement. I am a MacGyver type of guy I can literally build anything. I’ve been giving this a lot of thought lately making my own sound booth and watching your video actually gave me inspiration. I already have it built in my head and I have the best idea and I’m going to build it and do a UA-cam video. I think I will be the very first one to ever do it! I have a feeling I will inspire some people the way you inspired me. Thank you 😊
Bro thanks for the video. You've reassured me that I'm the right track. Everything you discussed was something I've gone through the pain of trial and error to get my studio right. Four years later this self taught engineer, who still has a lot to learn, has become a preferred engineer. I was just tripping like when you showed your booth, I got moving blankets to control my sound, there were times I literally had to teach new clients of how important mic positioning is. All the editing parts really had me laughing because when you show them how many "hard breaths" they take and all the lip smacking and saliva build up that gets recorded, I tell them I have to "comb through the vocal" before I can get down with the vocal. The dubbing vocals and then panning them was something I experimented with before I started actually recording others, I was my own guinea pig lol. Respect bro and I appreciate the reassurance, keep doing your thing bro.
Dang, this makes me wanna jump right into the booth again after yrs of stepping away. I'm the artist, but now I kinda feel like learning to engineer just to apply these useful tips.
Thank you!! The first minute of the video literally explains the most important thing to newer tracking engineers if you get a super clean recording the mixing will be easy as fuck
I wasn't going to subscribe because my "Stupid-Self" was like, I didn't learn anything new... BUT, NOT ONLY DID I LEARN NEW THINGS...being reminded was great! THANK YOU! 😘
20 years ago when I put my first recording online. Somebody commented that sounded like I was reading off paper and could even hear it in the recording and ever since then I never read off anything when recording. I actually don’t even write down anything anymore which makes it easy to write while driving to my full time job but also makes it real easy to forget stuff

Humble request: can you please show us what to look for when doing the EQ sweep, and the C6 MB? I understand we’re looking for harsh sounds but sometimes we misjudge these sound. Sometimes I’d have 4 or 5 bands with narrow Q that I’ve dumped down! Thank you professor 👨🏽💻
