You can see they truly feel sorry for them. Marie and Frank were there for only a few weeks, they clearly can’t bear to think of what it must be like to be related to them.

Well, since so much of the comedy is based on his parents, it would’ve gone flat pretty fast. I had respect for the fact that the creator felt that they had really milked the situation in the series as well as they could, and so they decided to end it. I saw it in its first year when it was broadcast on Friday nights. I know that Friday night is normally a throwaway night for the networks and I wondered what the heck such a funny showwas doing in that slot. Next year it moved to Mondays and it never left the top 10.
One of my favorite scenes of the series. The bluntness of the director (“you’re kicking them out? Yes”), the descriptions of their behaviors that you could totally envision happening (“he turns his kart and AIMS for them”), and then Ray’s fantastic line at the end out of pure desperation, “can we live here?”
"We have people to help you pack" is the most hilarious part of this episode perhaps even throughout the entire series. And the woman was so happy in saying it too is what makes it hilarious.

Ray and Debra should have known it was the worst decision for Frank and Marie to live with stable residents in that facility. The way they maliciously manipulate, control, belittle, and strangle them with their reckless and dysfunctional tactics is all the more reason they will do the same to the traumatized seniors. Even the rep recounts they refuse to take their medications, which is a sure sign of a telltale suicide. Frank and Marie will NEVER allow themselves to be lectured and scorned by anyone, especially Mama Boy Raymond, and they will never change their incoercible ways with reason and resolution.
I think Frank and Marie are one of those types that have had there boxing gloves on there whole life and think by backing down they loose even that speech Marie gave at that meeting about raising children said it all.@@isabelbeckerman9226

It was almost going to be a happy ending for the final season, Frank and Marie leave, Robert gets the house, Ray and Debra finally alone, but they all came back to where they started.

Didn't like the conclusion of this episode, because Frank and Marie never actually learnt their lesson. They’re lying. They went through so much dysfunctional trouble with Marie and Frank. That’s why at 3:47 and 4:14, Debra was tragically desperate of wanting to get rid of Ray’s parents. Though, Ray didn’t say too much except saying at the end, “Can we live here?” He knew how insane his parents are.
I love how when Debra is trying to argue a way out of this the entire time you just see Ray's already given up. It's like he was released from the tortures of hell but eventually realized his release was just an illusion and another form of torture. He knew happiness and now he can never taste it again.
Everybody loves Raymond in a nutshell: Even when Frank and Marie lose, they still win. Got kicked out of the retirement village just for being their obnoxious selves and forced to go back to Long Island. One defeat and Marie is back to acting like the world owes her something just because she exists by forcing Robert to give her the house back.
And when Ray rightfully points out they now have proof positive that they're more than merely overbearing parents but just straight out horrible people, she doesn't even acknowledge this and goes right back into her narcissistic pity party

They’re lying. They went through so much dysfunctional trouble with Marie and Frank. That’s why at 3:47 and 4:14, Debra was tragically desperate of wanting to get rid of Ray’s parents. Though, Ray didn’t say too much except saying at the end, “Can we live here?” He knew how insane his parents are.
I love how when Debra is trying to argue a way out of this the entire time you just see Ray's already given up. It's like he was released from the tortures of hell but eventually realized his release was just an illusion and another form of torture. He knew happiness and now he can never taste it again.
This is one of the top 5 scenes in the series. Some would say #1. I wont argue with those that do.
I remember this episode; it was so funny. Poor Ray and Debra. LOL!!!

Even when Frank and Marie lose, they still win.
Got kicked out of the retirement village just for being their obnoxious selves and forced to go back to Long Island. One defeat and Marie is back to acting like the world owes her something just because she exists by forcing Robert to give her the house back.
And when Ray rightfully points out they now have proof positive that they're more than merely overbearing parents but just straight out horrible people, she doesn't even acknowledge this and goes right back into her narcissistic pity party

If you haven't seen this in awhile, and re-watch it, you have to laugh out loud. There will never be shows like this again. How sad.
Notice that Ray and Debra got in their feelings a little bit but they didn't dispute anything Frank or Marie were supposed to have said or done😂
This is one scene that depends all on writing and the guest stars. Those two extra characters pull off this scene and it works.
