Great interview, we could do with him in charge now. At least he loves the club and is a fan , unlike those Glazer idiots. The interviewer said he was born in 1983 and that was his first cup final in a way, I remember my dad sweating on my birth because of the 1979 cup final!! That was on the 12th may and luckily for him I was born on the 10th May!! As it meant he could go to the game!!
Must agree 100%. United couldn't have wished for a better Chairman and they have a lot to thank Martin Edwards for where they are today. The book is a fantastic read
I think we would have won the league in 1985/86 if we’d got Lineker in the summer of 1985. Goals dried up in the 2nd half of that season and it was a big reason why we didn’t win it.
In fairness there were several key injuries and Mark Hughes was sold midway through the season, knowing he was leaving in the summer but having to say he was staying. Must have played on his mind.
When he was United chairman the fans were critical of him at times but don’t we all miss him now at the helm. Best football chairman ever who backed Fergie 100%.
He wanted Wenger, Kenyon wanted Sven Goren Eriksen and recommended Erikson to the board. Wenger met with Edwards twice. Said he wanted to finish what he started with Arsenal and that he felt loyalty to David Dien.
Privilege to play for the famous Manchester United once-in-a-lifetime treble winners and in footsteps of Roger Byrne, Duncan Edwards, Nobby Stiles, Harry Gregg, Bill Foulkes, Denis Violett, Paddy Crerand, Alex Stepney, Best, Law, Charlton, Buchan, Gordon Hill, Coppull, Gary Bailey, Macari, McIlroy, Stapleton, Whiteside, Strachan, McClaire, Kanchelskis, Hughes, Irwin, Ince, Bruce, Pallister, Schmeichel, Robson, Cantona, Keane, Carrick, Butt, Edwin vSar, Evra, Vidic, Japp Stam, Ferdinand, Neville's, Ji-Sung-Park, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, vNistelrooy, Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and-Solskjaer-has-won-it, vPersie, Rooney, Ronaldo, DeGea.
Just a thought a football club never wins all the time. It is how you navigate all the bad times and in hindsight we have got arguably the best history in English football it’s between Liverpool and us , that’s my opinion and that is what football is all about.
I just received a Book James Edward's GOTHIC AGENT & SPIES Short stories FANTASY Foreword by Martin Edwards.. Logo on bottom FLAME TREE WRAPPED UP IN CHRISTMAS WRAPPING WROTE TO YOU FROM NOT SOME CRAZY PERSON.. I FOUND IT STRANGE & WHY SENT TO ME???? Curious history and knowledge of gov. Years of changes I find it fascinating but why sent to me In USA..
Not that much of a genius as he wanted to sell the whole club for around £18 million. When he couldn't sell he got good advice to float the company then spent years taking in £100 million. Pure luck and being in the right place at the right time
I know he's selling a book but great respect to Martin Edwards for giving these series of interviews, I can now relate to him.

Martin Edwards is a business and economical genius . Salute

@@gm2407 I totally agree. 👍👍

He never asked him about when Ferguson was going to retire in 2002
He wanted Wenger, Kenyon wanted Sven Goren Eriksen and recommended Erikson to the board. Wenger met with Edwards twice. Said he wanted to finish what he started with Arsenal and that he felt loyalty to David Dien.
And don't we miss you, Mr. Edwards

I suppose the obvious thing to say is that was a good interview.

United fans want to own the club, the fans want to support the club and spend however the fans want the club to spend

70's and 80's league failure lies with the Edwards...We were shit
👌
I will probably get slated for this but in a certain way he was as important as Fergie! He did hire him after all!
interviewer keeps smacking his lips nearly every time he asks martin something
Good Lord! Martin Edwards speaks to the Nephilim! 😝😝

Any decent thinking person in business will always take time for advice,no matter what time it takes,he personally was under no financial pressure !
1:08:58 fans are fickle 🤣😂
My advice to you. Stop sucking on your own lips throughout the interview. Otherwise it was very good.
