I don't get why people look down on people who study at UNISA. All accredited degrees have to comply with the exact same criteria before they can get accredited. So the LLB at UCT and at UP and at UNISA all teach the exact same things. They are just presented differently. So the argument that UNISA students are inferior to other physical universities doesn't hold any merits. P.s. I wrote my last LLB exam on the 4th of November this year. Waiting for my marks. #LLB #UNISA #CircleofExcellence
Hey, I’m also in unisa doing my 3rd year I’ve been looking for vac work and articles and there’s no luck, I’m not sure if it’s because of the university it’s supper frustrating
Securing articles is not easy & I don’t think it’s solely because of the university, I know students from top institutions in the country who have the same hardships. Your academic record plays a role but beyond that keep knocking on doors, something will give. ❤️
It’s not because of the university. I did my LLB at UNISA. I completed last year and this year I am doing my masters at UP.. I managed to secure articles in one of the big commercial law firms in South Africa.. Trust me, it’s not about the university, I did well in my LLB and made sure that I got as much experience as I could, and that is what set me apart, experience in the law field…. So just continue getting as much experience as possible and you’ll see… Even if it’s volunteering.. Securing articles is hard in general.. Don’t be disheartened, at least you’re applying now in third year. By the time you finish your undergrad, I’m sure you would have secured something. Goodluck
@@nthabim Hi Nthabi, that's incredible...I'm in 3rd year and I'm thinking of doing a masters...how was the transition from LLB to LLM and from distance to contact learning? Have you experienced any indifference at UP or during your articles as a Unisa graduate???
It definitely wasn’t easy. All my life I had been taught by a teacher and all of a sudden I must study 5 modules on my own 🥴 but you can’t deny hard work. Also, academic groups go a long way.

After completing the Diploma in Law, you can apply to study for LLB. If accepted you have to register first, then apply for credits. You may be credited for 15 up to 20 modules (not so sure). Meaning that the LLB may take you 2 years or 2 years & 6 months (one semester)
