Thanks for the advice , have a app the list skateboard tricks for me to learn ,I started to get better at my shove it and I skateboard everyday at three to four
Just think about not being embarrassed at a skatepark because everyone there was also a beginner at one point and also I’m decent at skateboarding but ever single time I see an amtuer I always approach them and try and help them
i broke my jaw, my right arm, and was dizzy for 5 seconds after i fell. i also skinned my chin and have to get it stitched up ALL JUST BECAUSE OF A LITTLE KID STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BOWL
I cruise street everyday and hit different skateparks 2/3 times a week. I only started skating at lockdown (6mths), and after taking repeated slams, never ever thought I would do drop-ins, or even run a line from one side of a park to the other. But I did, with determination, dedication, discipline, and more importantly the love of skating a board. Practice doesn't mean that you will always succeed, but without it you never will. I'm 58 in a few months.
Drew 36 I don’t really bother anyone else and I used to ride bmx there so I know everyone who goes there and the flow of the park. I’ve been skating for 4 months there already
Brandon bartholomew im not brand new but I would still class myself as a beginner. I can ride transition and do lots of stalls. I can do bs and fs 180, Ollie high, bigspin, kick flip.

Art_School_Idiot There’s no probably, skateboarding IS harder. Almost everyone knows how to swim, but very few people know how to skate. It’s a non argument.
Learn something new everyday, even if it’s just rolling off a curb you’ve never done before. Also, skate with people who are better than you and/or will push you. Don’t get comfortable, keep moving forward. Cruise around your city with no limitations on where you’re going...it will force you to adapt to different obstacles and get you more comfortable on your board.
That's good advice for beginners and any skaters to improve their skills! Thank you!! Also learning to riding switch and cruising switch is helpful for later on to do tricks! :)
Never skip skate day. I always feel like something's missing if I don't skate for a day. No matter how tired I am at work, I'll never be tired to go skate after work. I feel so free on my skateboard.
I started skating 3 months ago and I already land: ollies, fs 180, bs 180, pop shove it, nose shove it, kickflip, halfcab, nose stall, rock and fakie and rock and roll. All my progress comes by going to skateparks, meeting new people and having fun !! Just focus on yourselves and do your best to land new tricks. Never forget to keep skating 🤜🏼 !!!
Here is a song for you to remember Just keeping pushing Just keep pushing Pushing pushing... lol No problem with that. You have to start somewhere!! I hope it still fun at least!
I‘ve been skating pretty much daily, but sadly I got back pain from it. I needed to take a break until my back recovered, which took me longer than a week and a half. It was awful. To anyone that has the same problem, I kind of worked against it with keeping the spot warm with patches and stuff and to know when to stop skating for the day. Most of the time I don‘t want to stop, but I rather skate a little less than a whole week with intense pain, eventhough progressing and learning new stuff becomes an addiction lol.
What kind of shoes are you wearing, some thin vulcanized ones. Try out some cupsoles. Also check up on footprint insoles, I swear up and down on footprint insoles. I have never looked back, they are worth so much more than they cost
You don’t need to skate everyday but you need to be able to skate 4 to 6 days a week so you’re able to progress faster. And it’s better to focus on 1 or 2 tricks at a time so you can get the moucle memory as if you try 5 tricks a day your brain will get confused. I really hope this helped
thank you. was wondering this thing. i try every trick i could think of in the session. but if u saying concentrate on 1 or 2 tricks.. maybe this helps
i used to only skate 1-2 a week because I was busy a lot and had a really shitty old board, and I felt like I was frozen in my progression. I started skating every morning before school even if it’s just riding the board for 20 minutes. I’ve found that skating every day even if you’re not trying new tricks allows you to progress MUCH faster than if you do a really hard session once a week. You have to keep the muscle memory fresh in your mind
I skate every day and I have one of the worst skateparks I have ever seen and it rains all of the time but I endured. I watched this video and It really gave me a new perspective on learning. it makes it really fun and you can see the progress so I would try a new flip trick every week it was hard but I learned backside flip, frontside flip, varial flip, hardflip, tre flip, and big flip and now have them on lock. this video is great advice for anyone who wants to progress.
I started posting my skateboard progression because I don’t have any friends who skates so I use the internet for advice to get better. But I feel you on the no friends who skate!
Lol right. I go to the skatepark and maaaaayyybeee there are 1 or 2 other skaters. The rest is scooter kids. I been cruzing the streets lately lol and haven't got snaked at all haha
U dont have anyskateparks to go to to maybe make some friends? I've already had a few friends I started skating with but I've also made lots of other friends from skating at the skatepark all the time. Either it was from asking to play a game of skate. Or asking for help or helping that person on a trick.
It’s weird I’m learning how to do other tricks and I still can’t even do a proper Ollie I swear I don’t get it but I’m just rolling with it. Lol get it rolling... ok I’m done.
filming your self and watching the trick in slow mo helps a lot, also ask other skaters what they think ur problem is and also try every possible way to perform the trick u want to learn and mention they way it works better
Due to Covid I am able to skate every day, which I have been doing. I have been skating for 7 weeks now and I am comfortable at doing ollies and even a nollie. I'm working on shuv-its now and have ordered a grind rail. Daily skating has allowed me to progress very quick and I am very grateful for this opportunity. A bonus is living on the Central Coast in California where to weather damn near perfect not to mention to amount of parks and smooth pavements.
Yeah same I just started like 3 weeks ago and I can drop in Ollie almost a foot, almost kick flip, almost heel flip, front side 180, shove it, pop shove, front shove, drop in, air out, grind, board slide and sometimes 50 50s and ppl say I can’t do that because I only have been skating for 3 weeks but I skate for like 6 hours a day btw keep skating
I learnt how to skate on transition, and is still my favourite style.. but when I wanted to learn new flip tricks and stuff I'd just play games of SKATE with whoever was down the park at the time, I'd either learn something new, or teach someone else something they didnt know.. that helped me progress the most, you dont realise how good you can get.. oh and while playing skate, never just take a letter.. get cuts and bruises from falling off trying something new, the body heals
Some Points u missed out Get realy good at the basics as nyjah mentioned in his early time he rides the same line filled with basics 2 hours straight and after he learned new stuff Other big point is dont let your fear overcome you, often you could do tricks but you fked up cause you fear it and as he said commiting is realy important in skating

I just started skating a month ago, and I can say I’m pretty decent. I just have a problem with doing ollies while moving, I can easily do an ollie without moving. Any tips on how to get better? (Edit) I can ollie while moving 👍
My advice would be to get used to falling when I started I didn’t want to fall so it took me awhile to start doing a Ollie rolling. Now I can do ollies rolling and I’m great at falling lol.
Make sure you hang the toes of your front foot off. I didn't figure this out until just recently, but I landed one within probably 30 minutes of trying like that since I had already gotten used to committing with my shoulders.
KRISHNAKANTH INUKONDA same man. I’d say try to land with the foot that flicks over and over again so you can teach yourself how to keep the flicking foot above the board. And if you can get a consistent flick then that’s when you should start trying with both feet. Note: you may get discouraged but think about how much you wanted it and get it
Only started skating at age 47 3 months ago, but I've been skating at least 30 minutes almost every day. I'm still far from very good, but the incremental improvement has been noticeable.
I skate basically everyday and sometimes two sessions in one fay and i go to my local, lot 11, 3 days out of the week helps me progress a ton working on hardflipping and tre flipping the double set and kickflipping the eight stair
As a competitive swimmer, swimming is pretty hard. It’s very draining and it takes lots of dedication to get good, that said skateboarding is probably harder.
Art_School_Idiot I know that swimming is difficult but in skating to do a trick you try many times and well there is a possibility that you hurt yourself
@@itz_alexx2134 yeah that is true. You can hurt yourself and stuff and it is very hard. But to get better only by a second is like 24 hours of work. Tbh as someone who also skates i think they are even in difficulty.
Iv just turned 30 and just started skating again after 10 years broke a bone in my foot 180 down a drop 🥶🤟🏼😆.. found out I haven’t got rubber bones like I used too.. still won’t stop me from getting back on the board !!
I'm new to skating, and i found my board on the side of the road next to a piano. I took both home with me. Now i play piano. But besides that, I'm really happy because I've always wanted to skateboard, and i know it's gonna take a really long time, but it's really fun, and maybe i could help other new skaters learn, too. And no one in my neighborhood skateboards and i have no one to practice with :(
I’m new I started skating 2 weeks ago so far only know how to ollie n do a shove it barely but I skate everyday i try something new every day like today I worked on ollie while riding n I did it off a curb
Skate box I am not shy to try new obstacles that I can’t do. The thing for me is that I feel like I’m gonna slam in to the ground really hard not fall in front of people
Im in my first month but I skate every day and do mostly double sessions. Thats why I can do ollies in stance , kickturns, drop ins from the mini ramp, as well as a little bit of manual and nose manual. Im currently learning shuv it and the next coolest thing would be frontside 180.
Used to skate like once a week or sometimes only twice in a month for 2 years and also started pretty late, I am in my twenties. Recently started to skate almost everyday, with few breakes here and there, and the overall feel and progression improved a lot.. but my problem is, being a bit of perfectionist, I am almost never satisfied with my tricks. I land them but I always feel like I need to pop more or catch it better and so on. So instead of learning something new I tend to do same stuff everytime, because I feel like I don't really know how to do those tricks. That being said, I think the key is not to worry about the progression that much, of'course we all want to progress, but there is no reason to be upset, it's all about just having fun. The best thing about skateboarding is just having a reason to be 6 hours a day outside, meeting new people, not caring about negative things happening and just enjoying the moment. Skateboarding is the best thing I ever did.
I skate 5 times a week. I have a local park like 5 mins walking distance, I live in LA so there’s a stop around every corner. It also helps that my dads a carpenter and he builds all kinds of stuff that’s skate able
Played football for 8 years , ran track for 2 years & boxed for 1-2 years. Skateboarding is pretty hard, well trick wise. When I first got it I can easily push, but tricks oh man it’s so difficult. I completely enjoy it tho ! It’s a good feeling when you’re progressing. I only went to my local skatepark once & mans it sucks when you don’t know how to use the obstacles lol. But it’s enjoyable soothing. Overall I plan on to keep skating as a hobby it’s cool
i actually skate every day and i've been skating for a little over a week. I've had to put off learning tricks because I have a dance performance and can't get injured, but after tomorrow I'm going to put my all into learning ollies. I'm currently trying to learn manual and try to do kickturns while moving (bc i was dumb and learned them stationary)
I started skateboarding 1 month and a half ago and have been doing every I can Ollie kick flip heel flip and do every shuvit variation including switch and I’m learning how to land my varial flip because I have the motion down
My friend is scared to commit to his ollies so I put a tennis ball on one of his wheels it doesn’t do anything the board still rolls but it gave him confidence to do it he landed the Ollie first try,
I like manny’s 5050 and kick flips so I’ve been trying to board slide more down rails cause I get scared of board slides and I skate every other day depending on the weather
i swim and skateboard and when it comes to how strong you have to be and how tired you get, swimming wins by a landslide but when it comes to learning how to do new things within the sport its close but skateboarding wins
My biggest tip is to skate everyday and if it’s raining do something that involves skateboarding like skater xl or fingerboarding orrrrr doing maintenance on ur board
Everyday at 7pm i go into downtown Fort Worth and have about a 2hr sesh and then if i take i break for like 2-3 days and when i come back to skate i feel like i got better
1:13 Tryna get more consistent lock-ins with small fs 50-50s, fs 180s, and pop-shuvs. I've all but stopped doing regular shuvs. Ollies are decently muscle-memoried in there by now but I am desperate to get higher ollies. My heelflips are so fucked too, I either can't get a complete rotation (faster flick or higher ollie?) or I overthink it and don't pop it at all. skating almost 2 months around 5/6 days a week, with 2-4 hour sessions.
Games of S.K.A.T.E. have helped me a lot. Also I skate 4-7 times a week and sometimes twice a day but if it rains I barely skate because we have only one dry spot and that's flat
can anyone help me with my kickflips im only landing with my front foot but if i jump higher so does the board and i cant get confidence to do a 2 stair at my local park
legend has it if you leave a like on the video you'll learn laser flips first try 👀

yo i literally can’t Ollie help yall im doing all the steps the skateboarding god tells me to do but cant do it
1:13 le kickflip
KRISHNAKANTH INUKONDA same man. I’d say try to land with the foot that flicks over and over again so you can teach yourself how to keep the flicking foot above the board. And if you can get a consistent flick then that’s when you should start trying with both feet. Note: you may get discouraged but think about how much you wanted it and get it
KRISHNAKANTH INUKONDA no not yet, are you getting close?
KRISHNAKANTH INUKONDA good luck man
Only started skating at age 47 3 months ago, but I've been skating at least 30 minutes almost every day.
1:13 im tryin to learn bs 180
How tf swimming is harder than skating 😂😂 that’s dumb 💀
The thing for me is that I feel like I’m gonna slam in to the ground really hard not fall in front of people
i came here to know how to improve my ollie fast... i think born again is a good start
very useful video. thanks for bringing this kind of content on skate scene media. subscribe!!
I skate every day it doesn't rain basically, still very much a beginner though but I'm gonna take your advice and try to skate different obstacles
Im in my first month but I skate every day and do mostly double sessions. Thats why I can do ollies in stance , kickturns, drop ins from the mini ramp, as well as a little bit of manual and nose manual. Im currently learning shuv it and the next coolest thing would be frontside 180.
Ive been getting into skatig again with my scuffed ass board hopefully it makes it to christmas
I usually skate 5 days a week. I live in a village but some days i get to go to skateparks, its such a fun thing
Monologue aside, this was the sickest trick compilation on UA-cam.
Overall I plan on to keep skating as a hobby it’s cool
i’ve been pushing myself a lot lately hopefully i can keep on going (i’m a beginner)
i actually skate every day and i've been skating for a little over a week. I've had to put off learning tricks because I have a dance performance and can't get injured, but after tomorrow I'm going to put my all into learning ollies. I'm currently trying to learn manual and try to do kickturns while moving (bc i was dumb and learned them stationary)
Tbh I shy away from roll ins because the coping at my local is super thick and I always hang up.
I started skateboarding 1 month and a half ago and have been doing every I can Ollie kick flip heel flip and do every shuvit variation including switch and I’m learning how to land my varial flip because I have the motion down
I am new at it but every day but I can only do it for up to an hour, still managed to roll my ankle and now I just sit here
Does anyone know how the trick at 0:40 is called or how I can do it?
This is fire
My friend is scared to commit to his ollies so I put a tennis ball on one of his wheels it doesn’t do anything the board still rolls but it gave him confidence to do it he landed the Ollie first try,
I just started skating and I skate every day and I can see improvement
I forgot my board in Indonesia where my dad lives , and he still needs to know who is going to come give it back to me because I live in France
I like manny’s 5050 and kick flips so I’ve been trying to board slide more down rails cause I get scared of board slides and I skate every other day depending on the weather
Aww the good old days of sequencing. It meant so much back then . Sequencing needs to be done more .
i swim and skateboard and when it comes to how strong you have to be and how tired you get, swimming wins by a landslide but when it comes to learning how to do new things within the sport its close but skateboarding wins
Wow I actually skate everyday just because I want to quarantine is kind of a blessing cause of that
I’m still learning how to Ollie just started today
I learned to Ollie on a gym mat it helps alot
My biggest tip is to skate everyday and if it’s raining do something that involves skateboarding like skater xl or fingerboarding orrrrr doing maintenance on ur board
Everyday at 7pm i go into downtown Fort Worth and have about a 2hr sesh and then if i take i break for like 2-3 days and when i come back to skate i feel like i got better
I'm trying to learn a shove it with a 180 body varial the opposite direction. I'm not sure what it's called though, does anyone else know?
1:53 man straight up dived for his board. respect
I started skating a month ago and ive been skating 5-7 days a week w friends and im already learning board slides. So skate as much as possible
can anyone help me with my kickflips im only landing with my front foot but if i jump higher so does the board and i cant get confidence to do a 2 stair at my local park
