- Every year, more than 100,000 Mexicans living in the United States are deported to #Mexico. Many of them have grown up and spent decades in the #US, working, paying taxes and starting families. Some of them don't even speak Spanish. In a matter of days, they find themselves taken from their children and loved ones and escorted across the #border, unable to appeal their deportation. How did he get recruited in the military if he hadn't legal papers?
You have no idea how many in the Murican army have no papers. They fight in the hope that they will get the desired documents

The U.S. military cannot fill its ranks without lowering requirements. This has been the case for some time now. But the practice of using military service as a road to citizenship is not new in the U.S. or most other armies, including the French military. Heck, they're famous for their own French Foreign Legion. That service was famous for never checking the background of its recruits. So it became the resort of many international criminals.
Military is a very common path to citizenship
After living in the U.S. for 50 years, I was deported. At times life has been difficult because at my age not much is expected. But the most difficult part of this is that those family members who are American citizens have forgotten me or turned their back on me completely. In their hearts since I am a deportee, I am less than worthy. All too soon their phone calls and text messages stopped. Today I am alone in my thoughts, memories, and prayers.
Though you are not known to me , you have told your mind ,as if to me. This is our world ; ( though there are exceptions ,I must say ). Please try to be your own friend . My heartfelt sympathy is with you.
The only hope u have if they deported To Mexico after living and working in the USA is that they have a right to claim their social security benfits. No matter what? U work in any country in the world that money belongs to u by law. As soon as u are incapaciteded or reached the age. U could claim. Print ur forms. And send them to the Usa. social security not everything its lost. They will send u, ur monthly check.
All deportees, have a right to claim their social security. If the worked at the USA. OR in China. When they become at age.
You had 50 years to become a citizen.

One of them knew he was undocumented, he chose to break the law and got himself into drugs
They didn't have a plan B. The lady says she lost everything she had constructed, well if you construct on somebody elses lot, you lose the house. She also says she had a business which makes you wonder why is she renting in a colonia? A colonia is a squatters neighborhood, an irregular settlement lacking some or all of urban services.
The US has laws too, respect the country you immigrate to or just get out

@@christopherboisvert6902 Be better according to who? Whenever a law is bent, it leads to more lawbreaking and it has, on a huge scale that I have witnessed and experienced personally many times. At the present, the U.S. Southern Border doesn't exist, but this report wants you to think that only the U.S. is "inhumane." Mexican drug cartels have moved into every West Coast city of any size and central and southern California are lawless zones where any and all crimes occur continually. Murder for fun, looting stores, and trains is now common and the police can hardly address just the violent crimes while local DAs let them out on bail and/or a slap on the wrist so they go on to bigger and worse crimes. The reason for this story? France has its own immigration issues that it is failing to manage. Thus, this accusatory story for distracting.

[1] These numbers of deportees are a very tiny percentage of all the people who have emigrated to the U.S.A., legally or illegally. Of course, it is regrettable that persons are being deported after living for DECADES in the U.S.A. and especially after serving in the U.S. armed forces or otherwise contributing to the society and the economy . . . .
Well at least they are not locked up in no mans land.

Some may claim, no matter how valid the points in this doc are, that it was done as a deliberate, intentional act of French anti-Americanism ('Le Resentment'), while creating the impression that France has never had any immigrant issues, particularly with those from its former colonies.
This film is very dark and negative, shows the worse parts of mexico, like a city park full of homeless people in the U.S. Show the other part were depotees are doing well and happy in Mexico, many depotees love Mexico and have good happy lives.
I see many documentaries regarding people being deported after decades of living in the U.S. and being separated from their families. I like to see some documentaries regarding the affects they have on social services traffic housing prices crime and identity thief on the American.
As one who grew up in California from 1952 and lived there until 2002. I can tell you that not only is the premise of this story questionable, the overwhelming majority of Hispanics whether they just arrived in the past 20 years or are third generation and on, most often have Spanish as their second language. Spanish Language television has existed in California since the 70s. The Left in California has run the state into the ground. It began a long time ago when Mexican race-based political organizations like La Raza began o disrupt business at the Capitol in Sacramento, going onto the Assembly floor and disrupting activities, shouting, physically obstructing, etc. The police did not stop them then, and so now the police cannot stop much of anything in the entire state. On top of that, they hardly ever completely join American mainstream culture - assimilation has always been a problem. Only the children of mixed Anglo-Hispanic marriages tend to fall into that category. But on the other hand, much of the American Southwest, especially Southern and Central California look more like Mexico now in many aspects. It looks like a third-world country, worse, in many places. And the crime is completely out of hand. Stores are raided by mobs and even trains are boarded and looted en masse. Murder is common, as well as lesser violent crimes. But France 24 wants you all to know how unfair the U.S. treats the children of border jumpers.

funny she lived in US for 30 years but never even learned the language, she'll feel much more at home in a Spanish speaking country.
I live in South Texas in a small town west of Corpus Christi, and I have a neighbor that was born and raised by Spanish speaking family members and only speaks Spanish. She was born here. And for most of our town's history, Spanish has been extremely prominent here, so knowing English isn't even necessary. She's at least in her 60s now. People often do call our town "a poor town" and we do on average have poorer citizens. And segregation could be to blame. My great uncle often tells me about life during segregation. The town was majority mexican/latino, and the town to our north was mainly white. To the east was a small majority black pocket. In large part you can still see that today. So seeing displays of such blatant anglo nationalism never fails to make me nervous.
If he is a Veteran why send him back? Doesn't make sense.
Old veterans cost money, mostly in health insurance and are useless as they can't fight for the American gov anymore.

@@mzee5533 American exceptionalism plus bad economic opportunities are the only reasons anyones joining anymore imo. I have friends applying to various military branches, the marines included because they don't have other careers obtainable. That, and the benefits are going to be helpful in an evermore unattainable economy for the average person. Personally, I refuse to make myself a puppet of the state and uphold the division of humanity. Although I understand why some do it.

Heres also What I have Observe very much, that if you are Coloured person, you are denied and denied your benefits or they give you many years to fight for it, so that the veteran may just give up. I have noticed this very much.

Too many people are destroying their own minds, bodies and souls: e.g., with poor dietary choices, . . . with television and beer instead of purposeful activities, . . . with overspending on non-essentials, . . . by not furthering their personal growth, education, and careers, . . . and by succumbing to self-pity, regret, and fatalism. The future belongs to those who are PREPARED.

It's not a great production. They all have a place of origin, where they were registered and are citizens of. They also have rights as Mexican citizens. They may define as U. S. Citizens but they are not, reality hit them like a bucket with ice cold water.
