The lore of vampires not being able to see their reflections in mirrors comes from the fact that mirrors used to be made with silver. So technically speaking, vampires in history wouldn't have been able to see their reflections, but vampires in the modern era could since mirrors no longer use silver as a backing
I thought it was because they don't have a soul so that is why they have no reflection even on other things than just mirrors (like water, other objects that would normally reflect you and same with camera pictures etc.).
@@9Misaki3 That's because silver was believed to show the truth of a person. Not to mention, vampire lore is so varied that there are no rules, only whatever traits you want to use youself.
@@9Misaki3 Vampires have souls but silver is their weakness aswel for the werewolfs. Silver is seen as pure thats why they do not have a reflection becouse it cannot reflect anything unholy.
I like the idea of a roommates situation where a non-oocult sim who is an absolute nerd about vampires moved in with a vampire, hoping that they would get to witness the cool, dark, brooding lifestyle of the vampire. And then it turns out that the vampire is a chilled out "vegetarian" vampire who subsists on plasma fruit and likes to knit.
I’d like to think that this house was made for normal parents that have a vampire kid and they keep them up in the attic but they’re also very supportive and tailor their life around them
Vampires on the sims are a healthy mix of more regular vamps from old lore and Twilight vampires 'cause there's a lot of things from each type that are fun to have (the ability to walk in the sun being an learn-able thing) and some that aren't (i.e. the mirror reflexions)
What’s funny is that Stephanie Meyers’s vampires have more in common with how angels are depicted in the Book of Mormon than previous depictions of vampires. Which makes sense bc Meyer is a very devout Mormon.
You actually need a computer for your sims for the occult play to Lv up your vampire (computer and a bookcase) but I guess technically your sim could use the library at night so its not to bad
Have you ever made a like, a modern-modern vampire house? Since they came with Late Night in the Sims 3 I was always (trying) to build them like, these big ultramodern penthouses, etc.
Vampires can sleep in beds. You don’t have to use the coffin if you don’t want to. The last time I played with one, she was able to hold a toddler, transform to bat & bring the toddler downstairs with her. I don’t know if they’ve changed that recently, though. If they haven’t, TPTB need to make that available to spellcasters, too.
I love the vampires pack! I looove playing with vampires and I like Forgotten Hollow. It's very small, but therefore has a bit more of an open world feel. There could be more stuff to interact with, but the atmosphere around the centre place is very lovely. Definitely one of my top 5 packs! 😊
I really wish both the vampires and werewolves worlds just had more lots but vampires especially since there’s less to do in the world. Even if it was 6 instead of 4 I’d be happier. And I say that as someone who almost exclusively plays vampires 😅
@@AverageEggmonEnthusiast i get it, i always play with accults but the spelcaster and vampire world could use an update, just a few more extra things u could do in the world would be awsome
i never use ladders. If I cant have stairs then I cant have the additional floor either. For me its a real life directing my sims gameplay. I know that for SIMS the stairs and the ladder are about the same. But for ME the idea of climbing up and down a ladder to get to your room at bedtime or whenever is a deal breaker. Im just picturing my Nana climbing a ladder or my Aunt Constance lmao
I loooove the vampire items because I build a lot of historic inspired builds so the vampire stuff is good for some of that (especially victorian I feel like)
I love the vampire pack and I stand by that for me it fill my wants and needs ❤😊and when I play it’s vampires I have the most fun and for it’s easier to manage a vampire sim than any other occults beside spell caster and this build is giving inspiration to build a modern or contemporary house for my vampire sim 😊
Just a small tip for anyone who wants to reupholster a similar chair or any in general, when the foam is that yellow, it's perishing. I would suggest buying some new foam before covering. You can buy furniture foam cushioning in lots of different sizes and thickness.
I love the lore of this human sim who moves into Forgotten Hollow, entirely unaware of the whole vampire thing, and also happens to set up their knitting space in the creepy attic of their house, also entirely unaware of the coffin in that room.
This looks amazing, love it! Have you ever considered that you try to make it budget, upload AND THEN follow and change windows, use more expensive furniture without pack limitation and no budget? So you would also be more satisfied - both on completing the little challenge and also making a perfect build :)
Ok at 10:04 thankfully you added the knitting basket because the whole creepy attic with just a coffin and a single rocking chair was screaming Norman Bates.
I've also been having fun with occult sims recently, especially Werewolves and Spellcasters. Mermaids are cute, too but I wish they had a perk system :(
I play with vampires all the time in the sims, and I don't use the coffins. My sim just "sleeps" in a bed. Actually, my sim doesn't sleep at all. 🤷🏻♀️
me: someone actively trying to knit in the dark and failing because I can't see anything simsie: puts knitting in the darkest dark me: ah yes, perfect, works everytime 10/10
In my Legacy, the heir has a younger brother with a different dad who is a vampire. When that kid was still a child, their cousin that lived with them died. From seeing it, the boy decided to join his father and be a vampire so he won't have to die too. Meanwhile my heir, whose father is the grim reaper, sees it as just a part of life and relies on her relationships to feel better
When you started saying that the inside didn't feel as 'classical vampire but it has potential', all I could imagine was Vladdy Daddy renovating this house and renting it out as an AirBNB and just conspicuously living on the top floor, slowly amassing his immense wealth 😂
There's this book series called the Vampire Knitting Club where all the members of this knitting group are vampires. Maybe this house belongs to one of them :)
I wished she did a "Starter Plus" or something, a cheapish house but isn't just 20k. Like, make this house fancy and vampirey in the inside, even tho it's 25k or 30k. I feel like it's either 20k or super expensive mansion, with nothing in between.

I love it! I’m going to download it into my save file I’m making. :D it will have to be empty with just enmities though. :) I want all my empty homes to be like real life, where they only come with the barebones of kitchens, bathrooms and fixtures. :)
I think it'd be fun to make a vampire house that's trying so hard to look human, but is just a little bit wrong. Like a TV in the bathroom or a microwave in the bedroom etc. 😅
If I had the pack I'd use it for a three sim family, in which a gay couple inherits their great-granduncle house just to realize he's still living there lol.
0:11 I think mermaids are the worst occult, they are a lot worse than vampires, they barely have any gameplay, playing with vampires it's kind of fun for the first few times, but with mermaids after 5 minutes you already don't have anything to do.
Yayy!! I've been *really* into vampires because of the new season of Interview With The Vampire. They're just not leaving my mind and honestly it's kind of making me want to pöay with the Sims vampires.
This is the first video ive watched of yours (im a newish simmer) and this made me run to the gallery. This is what i look for in a starter home. It has everything you need and it looks cool, plus its a fixer upper which i love. Easy to like... get a job and add a little love to it. Also, you dont NEED a bed, but beds are nice and roomy for sexy purposes 😂 just an extra place to... hide the bone... if you will... 😂

she has already remade it like 2 times I think 😭
"They're a vampire, they don't really need a bed."
*builds an entire kitchen*
Maybe they’re a foodie vampire? There *are* lots of foods made with blood or raw meat. Besides, who doesn’t love pizza?
😂😂😂😂 how did that go right over my head until I read this comment.
i mean, kitchens are built into the house yknow? beds aren’t
Got to keep up appearances for the guests. Presumably guests would spend more time in the kitchen than the bedroom. Unless...............
Caleb Vatore is a foodie vampire sim. He just likes to eat.
Love the concept of a broke vampire who loves knitting and feels enough obligation to social propriety to decorate a fake bedroom with a fake bed
Old lady vampire named Margaret. Neighbors call her Miss Maggie. She also bakes cookies even though she can't enjoy them herself.
