this stuff is unbelievable valuable! It's a shame that these videos don´t have more clicks and likes. I really appreciate what you guys doing for the industry and that you share so much great content for free! If you don´t mind, please make more beginner videos, especially about programming, how to setup a proper training routine etc. Thank you very much Dave and EliteFTS!
This is my favorite shit-- I swear I've learned more from watching Dave Tate coach a smalll group of lifters in these Train Your A$$ Off sessions than 10 other places combined
This is one of the most helpful squat training videos. having multiple different lifters with different issues and working on all of them is so helpful.
@28:48 "So, there is only one reason you hit a PR and that's technique." Thank you Dave for your incredible passion, focus, and dedication to the sport of not just Powerlifting, moreover, developmental success within all aspects.
This is truly remarkable, thank you. These instructions helped my squat improve alot. It almost seems this should be paid content, incredibly valuable lessons probably found nowhere else.
Ultima Oculis yep, putting our resources into other areas moving forward. 20 episodes in and not much traction. Certainly not enough to justify the time and expense to produce these. We thought they were great but at the end of the day it’s what the audience wants.
@@eliteftsofficial Bummer. I've been pretty well relying on this education to fuel my next days session. If there's any other way I can support, I will. Would have killed to see that bench video up next.
Robbie Donovan all our content is and has always been supported by product sales of elitefts. While this is great for many reasons it’s also limited based on allocated budgets. Dave will still do these as before so they will go back to being extremely exclusive.
Spotting tip from Dave at the Heavy squats section. Dave spots the bar and not the lifter. Sometimes a 5-15 lb assist is all the lifter needs to get out of a sticking point and the lifters groove is untouched.
I'm 6'7" and would consider myself a recreational powerlifter since I haven't competed yet. Just about to the end of my first year of serious lifting. I would be really interested in what Dave would have to say about my lifts. It's hard finding people online as tall as I am who also powerlifter so a lot of the ques I learned from are for much shorter people. Every session I learn a bit more efficiency for my height.
Are box squats good for learning how to squat bcs i notice that my squat form is bad and i dont hit my legs like how you want them to hit them and feel lower back pain and stuff and just not strong so should i first do boxsquats to learn it?
Guy in red shorts has that mark rippetoe set up. Too much lower back out of the bottom which is why he keeps tilting forward. Possibly suggests a lack of leg strength in quads
Hi elitefts, I'm a new lifter, and have watched some tutorials online; some people suggest to squat with the head down about 5 or 6 ft at front on the ground? is this just a differnt technique or which one should a beginner like me do? Thank you
@@urgamecshk Thanks for your reply; yeah I have watched some tutorials (including ones from Stan Efferding); however, I still feel that looking down or looking straight forward maybe just different references or techniques. Saw some lifters look down and some look straight or even up at their meets. However, thinking about keeping upper back tight and moving with hip is still important then.
Only person who can say " open your taint, show me your balls" and its all good. Lol daves a beast. These guys are lucky to get his career of advice. Id wantca notebook training with him.
It was posted without the description data. This data is needed to help the view count. As you can see from the past episodes the view counts are not strong so we need everyone we can get due to the time and cost of production. We deleted it until this could be done and then reloaded it so it will get searched. Regardless we have decided to cease these moving forward as the time and expense need to be allocated in areas of the business that will have a return. Dave will still offer this service (we will announce on our IG when they are) - we simply will not be filming them anymore. He has been doing versions of this service for over two decades so we don't see that stopping anytime soon.
I dont understand why hes giving the guy so much trouble for not having a wide stance squat? Also, maybe he doesnt do alot of box squatting..which can be a totally different stimulus if your use to the bounce out of the bottom. I've always admired joe Sullivan's squatting and he doesnt squat super wide?
Did you watch the past videos as well? Box squatting didn't cause the issue. The lifter said himself that he has always had this issue while squatting. Dave wanted the lifter to try a wider squat stance to fix the issue of his knees repeatedly caving in. He also didn't tell any of the other lifters to change their squat stance. The lifter's knees were caving in while using his current relatively narrow squat stance, even at very light weights (warmup sets). Dave tried repeatedly to cue him to externally rotate the hip to stop the knee valgus, but the lifter was still unable to fix the issue even at very light weights. Due to his apparent strength level compared to the weights he was lifting, that issue shouldn't have been happening repeatedly at sub-maximal weights when cued. With intermediate or advanced lifters, knee valgus rarely occurs repeatedly at easy, submaximal weights (but may still occur at maximal weights), especially when specifically cued. It should be a relatively easy issue to fix at sub-maximal weights if the person's squat stance allows them to effectively externally rotate the hips. Based on those observations, it's reasonable to conclude that his knees valgus is (at least partially) due to his current relatively narrow stance not putting his hips in an optimal position to allow/encourage external rotation. A wide stance puts the glutes in a more advantageous position to externally rotate, which can possibly stop the knee valgus from happening.
29:50 in his defense, I'd lose all focus if I was approaching max weight and someone shouted "SHOW ME YOUR BALLS" on my descent 😂

Exactly what I was thinking 😂😂😂

Fist bump from Alsruhe? Respect from the man.
I said the same thing... Props 👊
Came for Dave Tate wisdom. Stayed for the Brian Alsruhe fist bump.
I gotta say, this really is an art. Some of these squats I saw nothing wrong with and Dave managed to see something to improve. Dude is an artist

I would be honored and terrified to have Dave Tate and Brian Alsruhe critique my squat. Only guy missing is Ed Coan.

10:14 lmaooooo! I love Dave Tate's sense of humor.
Love the videos. They teach me a lot. 47 years old and I'm still learning. Thanks
I don't squat heavy but I got so much from this video that I watched it twice. Amazing coaching.

Would it be possible to have all the episodes ?also the ones that weren’t loaded on UA-cam?

It’s good to see my boss (red shorts guy) getting yelled at during a max effort squat instead of me for a change
Holy fuck!!! This series is better that all from Netflix! I love the help fromm all team elite fts and, of corse, Dave Tate🔥🔥🔥
Thought the same thing, was saying to my self why can’t this be a show on Netflix!!

What is brian alsruhe doing there? Is he working for/with elitefts?

Thats for regular squats. Box squats like this are a more vertical movement. Watch Stan Efferding teach the regular squat for proper knowledge.

They have been on order for along time now. Supply chains are still a mess.
