Lots of talents graced the opry stage .. I agree they shud have been in the hall of fame , in remembrance .. hard driven old school .. like gold nowadays There are no talents and singers like them in today’s country music
This performance (along with everyone they did) should be a country treasure. There are zero artists who could or can sing county music like these 3 brothers.Their music is fabulous and will live forever!
Sorry i was WRONG!!! After i posted this i researched Jimmy Gateley and saw he had passed in 1985 or there about Need to get facts correct before i post Please truly sorry My Mistake!!! Jim Martin
Nothing is more genuinely representative of balanced three part harmony, especially in a live performance, than singing intimately into a single microphone. Watch how closely they work that mic.
The Glaser Brothers were the best group to ever stand on a stage together. No other group harmonized so well. I have nearly all of their cynics & all of their CDs. I felt so fortunate to have this great collection.
@@barbarawilkes5037 I have always loved them and so, so talented! Their voices were made for harmony! ❤️ My Dad was born in '32 and he's probably been one of Bob Wills' No.1 Fans of a lifetime. I love a great many from the old, old music. My first album that was literally my very own was of Sonny James. In the early '70, believing 1971, the family whose home I was visiting, their phone rung. The husband asked me to answer it. I begged not to and he insisted. Both the man on the line and I, neither of us knew who and why it was the two of speaking. The husband had injured his foot and his wife was fixing supper. I had to rely the Q&A between these two men. As it was a the man gave his commonly used nickname and (later on) the call was in regards as to what time, how early to come over for these two to go off fishing. I knew with his foot that trip wasn't happening. Why I was forced into answering the phone was us two had been playing LPs and talking of artist and groups. We had gained much onfo in this talk. He knew, was expecting this call from his buddy. He and I'd had shared stories and several of our most favorites and such. He had set me up! He had me to keep pressing, badgering this poor man on the phone and was wanting his name said. I felt so bad being a pest to him. He gave his first name and then the demand was, "Who?" and (fill in first name) "who?" This man couldn't believe the third degree he was getting and I couldn't believe it was me dishing it!!! To my, "He's asking me, to ask you, 'Sonny' who?" "He knows who I am." "I'm sorry, I'm supposed to asked again, 'Sonny' who?" "It's me! Sonny! Sonny James! Tell him, I am SONNY JAMES!" I couldn't believe it!!! Now it made a world of sense why he didn't want his wife answering this call. This was a gift to me. In no way ever was Sonny James upset with me. He as I, couldn't understand why not have two speaking together, knowing of each other, like the wife. With explanation of the injury, we continued as such. I've never fainted, but my legs did go a bit weak, no joke! I stayed mute on my loving the bidy if his work and my admiration of it. All of the Sonny James things, of my sharing, telling of singing... Sonny's close friend, within 45 minutes earlier heard from me, I'm certain much was detailed in explanation of the setup pulled off. 😅 I did sing in my early years. Lol, I was in a large group setting of people gathered with guessing 70% being 5th and 6th graders. They adults had for weeks ahead had decided this Friday, overnight, departure Saturday afternoon events out. Some of which the kids knew, most not. None of us knew a talent contest was going to happen. I won it! I sung a Sonny James' song and being a 5th grade girl, I went with, "Blackboard of My Heart." My Top All Time Favorites of C&W were Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, and Pasty Cline. Of course Tompall and the Glaser Brothers and Marty Robbins sung together. My Father and I both loved all the ones I've named sharing here. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and teary now, but all in the very best of ways!
What a fantastic performance. I could hardly believe it when Tompaul said they hadn’t been singing together in 5 years. They sounded like they had never stopped singing together. I always remember them backing up all those great western songs of Marty Robbins.
I just keep coming back to this video performance,it is so awesome, can't get enough of their singing!! "Loving her was easier", can't get anything much better than that!! It's hard to have a favorite one with these men,so many of their songs are great! Bout the funniest thing ever is their song "throw another log on the fire",pour me another cup of tea, then sit & tell me why you're leaving me!! Lol first time I heard that I laughed til I cried!!
Like the song says (murder on music Row) nashville is all about money I grew up in Ireland 🇮🇪 with country music and listened to it all my life but the rubbish they're putting out now bears no resemblance to real country Hank and the glaser bros must be turning in their graves
Hank Snow actually came over to my parent’s place for dinner after he did a show in Hamilton, Ontario in the early/mid 1950s!! Then after dinner, my Dad, his older brother and Hank sat around playing their guitars and singing!! I was a young child, but I’ve never forgotten it!! ❤️🌹🇨🇦🌹❤️
Their talent just blows my mind and today's talent can't even come close. These fellers were the real deal even if Nashville ignored them. R.l.P. boys!
I miss them so... Keep coming back to listen to the best group ever . Seriously, no one comes close. TomPall said they haven't sang together in 5 yrs. WOW... who else could have done this?
Sadly,we will never see the likes of these brothers again, after all the years apart they get together and give a performance like this is absolutely awesome ,and, Still use the one Mike between them, which is a dying art..Rest in Peace Brothers, never forgotten.
I think Chuck had the best time of all watching the antics of Jim and Tompall - loved to see him laugh. His recovery from his stroke was nothing short of miraculous and showed tremendous willpower and determination. The three of them were the best of the best!!!
I actually agree very much indeed with you dear sir or madam .I never heard of them until earlier tonight as l was browsing through my YOU TUBE .l shall certainly have them on from tonight onwards . Thanks for your feedback .Kindest Regards Elizabeth Scotland xxx
Oh how great they were We had good fortune of attending two of their concerts first at local High School auditorium and second at County Fair coliseum Jim and Jan Martin
It's so sad that all the great talent in real country music is gone. Most of them have passed away and a few have retired. But the really good country music is gone too.
I LOVE the glaser brothers,as a trio or individual!! So sad when they passed!! They were so funny as well as good singers! Very entertaining & talented!!
Nobody sang this song better. I wanted this song on my iTunes playlist but couldn’t find it on ITunes or Amazon. Found a CD from a seller in the UK and had it shipped to me. I treasure it.
The three brothers have all passed on now with Chuck being the last one to go. My memory goes back to 1966 when while serving in the US Army and stationed at nearby Ft Campbell, Ky. I used to visit a friend who lived on Berwick Trail in Madison, Tn and right next door to Chuck. We shared a few beers together while just chatting away the hours.
I worked the opry singing with Charlie Louvin and Jennifer O’Brien and we did the same swapping lines right in the middle of a song like they did I always found it funny than no one but the sound engineer knew who was singing tenor or high baritone or lead . He use to tell me he took bets on it at times . I wod have give anything to have seen Thier live petfirmance but I worked 1980 til March 1990 and transitioned back to school and other venture .. these guys were the best trio with phenomenal vocal ranges
Truly, the best of the best!!! I will always love them and loved every minute of each performance I saw. I have a few of their LP's but not a complete collection. They were wondering human beings, as well as great artists. I sent a birthday card to Jim once 'way back in the early 70's and he sent me a hand written thank you note. Who does that? What a sweet thing to do🤗

Ashley; this was the way the Glasers performed this Medley (and a lot of other performances)...They learned to sing as kids with just one microphone, and it stuck...
Absolutely brilliant. I used to have that segment of the Hank Snow 40th anniversary celebration performance on the Grand Ole Opry on a video tape . Unfortunately it got damaged. I know one of the next guests was the late Mel Tillis ,He sang a song called It Makes no Difference Now . I have enquired on UA-cam if some one could possibly post that particular part of the show. It would make my day. Thank you for posting this part of the show with The Glaser Brothers ( Rip) . Please stay safe in these unusal times. From Patrick Grimes. Clonsilla, Dublin, Ireland.

My God. They were under rated and so incredibly talented.
I was backstage with my dad this night but i was too young and dumb to understand what an amazing performance i was witnessing.
Bailey oh WOW! That's awesome, the thought of it!!
Sad how that comes back around as we stay musically sane

Ashamed they are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame!!! Best harmony ever. To have seen them in person was outstanding.
