Guide in Written Form: thewavelights.com/pages/led-s...
Step 1: Pre-Planning
Make sure to measure the length of the area you want to place the lights on
We recommend having the lights go up your wall, but if you prefer to start the line of lights from the top of your wall, you will need LED strip clips to help hold up the power supply against the wall.
Step 2: Preparing the Surface
Use a dry rag or a dry paper towel to clean the area you'll be applying the lights onto. This will ensure the area is clean so the adhesive can hold on strongly.
Step 3: Revealing the Adhesive
Peel back the plastic on the back of the LED strip to reveal the adhesive.
Only peel about 2 feet ahead to make sure the rest of the LED strip doesn't catch debris
Step 4: Installation
Start applying the beginning of the strip against the wall.
We recommend staying as close to the corner where the wall and ceiling meet to make sure the lights stay in a straight line when applying them.
Having someone else hold the other end of the lights and peel the plastic from the adhesive will help make this process easier
Step 5: Make them Stick
Once fully installed, go back and press flat along the LED strip to make sure the adhesive strongly stays onto the wall
Step 6: Powering your Lights
Connect the Controller Receiver (white box) to the LED strip
The LED Strip and Controller Receiver (white box) both have arrows at the connection point. Make sure those arrows are facing each other so the lights receive the correct signals.
If needed. use a screw or LED strip clips to help hold up the power supply. The adhesive can be slightly pulled down if the power supply end is too heavy

Step 7: Powering your Lights (2)
Connect a power supply to the Controller Receiver (white box) and plug it into the closest socket
If you need a power supply, there are a couple options which you can use. Click here to view all the powering options for your lights
Step 8: Check your Controller
Make sure you've purchased a battery at your closest retailer. The Remote uses a CR2025 battery.
Once you've installed the battery, check the remote by pointing it at the Remote Receiver.
If nothing happened, please check that the battery was not inserted upside down. Try flipping it over and check if it works
You can check if the controller is working also by using your phone's camera. If you open your camera app, point the controller at your camera. A working controller will have a light when you watch it through your camera - Наука та технологія
me, who bought 50 ft, thinking 16 ft was too short: 👁👄👁
He used two 32ft strips (so 64 ft total for his room) not just a 16ft strip.
50 is in total, so it can go around your whole room and other places if you want, i got 65.6 feet- 16.4 feet on each like ring of light

Hey, I was wondering if you could make a video or explain to me how to cut a strip of the LED lights and connect that strip so it could still function, I’m kind of confused on the cutting the LED lights, if you could explain that would be real helpful.
Cutting is meant to be used as a way to downsize an LED Strip if you don’t need all 16 feet, it is not meant to create 2 working LED Strips. You may cut an LED Strip at the designated cutting areas marked with a scissor icon.
The Wave Lights Oh, thanks for explaining I understand now, I am getting LED lights and I am going to install them.
The Wave Lights but what are LED strip connectors for?
They reconnect two cut ends of an LED Strip. We will have a video out on this soon
You have to cut the led lights where the 3 copper colored lines are
I'm making a fort, and wanted to install led light strips inside for the bedroom, this was INCREDIBLY helpful, thank you!
Who else watching these waiting waiting for there LED lights, cause when they are here you gon make ure dad put them 👁️👄👁️

OMG THANK YOU FOR THE LOOP TRICK ON THE CORNERR
Glad it helped!
Better trick just buy a 3 pin connector it cost like 99 cents
@@jasg4800 the ones that are on amazon as led lights adapter bcz i wanna get mines down the wall but idk how i am gonna bend it
i just folded at the corners lol
That loop looks horrendous. You're not supposed to have raised parts in the corners. I believe there's a 90 degree folding trick and also led L shape connectors you can buy for a better finish.
Some tips for the next time:
1) Buy some 90-degree connectors, will look more professional than making loops
2) Light diffuser rails would make lights even better, especially when they are in the open like this
The guy is installing led’s to be visible in the ceiling, you think he cares about 90 degree connectors to look professional? 🤣🤣
If you can see your led’s you already failed the installation

this video will come in handy because i just ordered my LED strip lights.

Hi. Do they pull off wallpaper or paint?
@@jastv5777 If u install them then its a one way choice bc if u remove them then they probaly dont stick good
thank you so much! the solution for corners was exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you for this great video. This will definitely come in handy when I am ready to get my led light strips up!
As soon as you brought up corner, I was relieved, cause I had no idea what to do with the rest of the led lights. So thank you so much for that help.
Thanks for this 👊🏿❤️
Thanks great video simple straight to the point now I can knock these corners out easily without having to slice and dice the led strip 😀 awesome.
I couldn't I see cuz his arm was in the way..lol so did he just kind of twist the strand of Lights?? He didn't pull through like a loop like he was tying it like a shoestring right?? Thank you
This video has been very helpful in planning for my dorm room.
Thanks for the great video. The instructions that came with my light
set didn't specify how to handle 90° corners. The tight loop was a good recommendation.
Thanks for the tutorial man. I bought 3 16.4 LED sets and this really helped.
This helped me so much!

Will the loop trick work the same way with corners that go into an "A" angle? As in a gable/pitched roof?

How do I connect two separate led strips when they each have only one connector that's connected to the power supply ?
Bought them for my kid a year ago, just now putting them up… parent of the year
Thank you, corners worried me the most as I want to do top and bottom- this si amazing thank u

How would you tape the led lights when it's going up a slope in the ceiling?
They should still stick?
THANK YOU SO MUCH IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE CORNER PROBLEM FOR AGES
i never thought abt the loop thing. glad i came here b4 sticking mine, thank u sm!
1 second in: “never turn on led strips when rolled up”
me sitting here clueless with my 2 led strip rolls while they’re turned on: 👁👄👁
Do not loop the strip for 90 degree corners. This creates a "hot spot" and the extra lights make the corners brighter. There is a sh!t ton of cheap kits on Amazon that give you "L" and "T" connectors as well as "loose wire" connectors allowing you to have your strip continuous without hot spots or bright spots. These simple connectors are really cheap and in my opinion... if you are going to make your space look better with LED light strips... the pennies that you spend on connectors make all the difference when installing 40-100 $ of LED's. My price for 35 feet of RGB LED was $40 CDN I spent an additional 19.99 to get more connectors than I will ever use. So... for under $60 all in, I got 35 feet of RGB LED with every imaginable array of options for installation.
Yes love it mine just came in mail today. Thank you your video helped me so much
definitely deserves a sub because mine were set up wrong and now its good and fixed
For those days where you look at your bedroom and can't decide if you want it to look like a rave or a Thai brothel.

Hello :’( I was wondering if you could explain tying knots when dealing with corners cause I’m still somewhat confused. I have govee brand LED lights
And maybe pressing down the corners- how do you do that?

Thank you so much for that tutorial ❤️
Wait so can I cut the LED strip? What if it’s too long and doesn’t fit

You should use a diffuser and should use corner connectors to avoid hotspots.
What do the hotspots do?
@@kyletrower6842Im assuming like the video stated at the beginning of not leaving the lights on while coiled up. can cause damage and worse, fire.

But how do you connect the cut strip 😭I was struggling and still am 😔
(I bought new ones) 12-20-20
Hey! I’m very confused on the two separate lights. i was going to buy the 32.8ft and the 16.4 so it can go around my whole room but does the 16.4ft have to come with another remote?
If you are purchasing from us, we sell our 32ft LED Strips with a different remote than the 16.4ft. You can always buy the remote separately. The 16.4ft uses a 44-button remote, our 16.4ft WiFi Bundle uses app control, and our 32ft also uses app control. The lights connect to the MagicHome app on your phone.
The Wave Lights I’m buying the 16 foot one. For the 16 foot one does the power blank thing stick to the wall too?
It does not stick to the wall. It’s very light
Beautiful and a awesome song.👍
Is there a way to make it look more "uniform"? You can see all the single dots of light like this when turned on, I was thinking something like covering the led strip with an opaque transparent... Something to make the light diffuse more and less focused around the led dots
Thanks so much, this helped me A LOT when installing. I had no idea what I was doing wrong because the lights didn't turn on.
Edit: I now finished installing it, but the charger is too short. Does anybody have suggestions?
If you still need help
Use an outlet extender
Extension cord
How do you connect another pair of led lights to the one u already have
We wouldn’t advise doing more than 32ft of LED strip on the same power supply. You would have to use a separate LED Strip with its own plug. If you connect too much together, it will just be very dim
If you only have 16.4ft, you can purchase a 32ft power supply and sync cables to connect a second 16.4ft LED strip together. We would just advise buying a 32ft LED Strip instead of different pieces.
The Wave Lights i bought a 32 and 16 if i connect them to two different outlets would i be able to use one remote or would i use both ?
If they have the same remote in the box yes, otherwise no.
The Wave Lights what type of power supply would you recommend to use for people that are going to do this
How did you make it so the last LED strip doesn't lose its color/brightness? I have three LED strips connected together and when you go down the strip the light/color looks different. If I go for a white color then the last strip will have a yellowish color. Any tips on how to fix that?
Great video amigo. Will buy some for my setup.
Does it mess up your walls when u take it off
Depends on how strong the adhesive is
There was a bad connection in the wires of the ones I got so I had to take them down and they ripped the paint off but I just painted the walls again

@the Wave Lights can I get help on how to handle corners? What do I do? Because the instructions “to avoid damage to the led strip do not sharply twist or bend the LED strip light 90 degree.” And so what should I do? Should I cut the led strip when I reach the corners of the walls?
