Fun fact: I did A/B testing with this thumbnail for the first time. The other two versions didn't have exclusively the pastel colors but this version won 😁 Pastels are very dangerous for me as well, I need them all 👀 thank you 😊
I LOVE how you organized the colors. I always do a somewhat rainbow order and I can see how your way allows for a better flow. :) gonna try it on a few different packs or mediums :)
I was laughing at putting the crayons in the right order! I am right there with you! I've only used oil pastels and I suuuuuuck at using them! Need lessons for sure!
Glad to see you, so happy I watched this I started a picture with these and thought oh my God what have I done. I’m going back to it after I finish another. Hope mine turns out as good as yours. See ya next time love ya 😊👍❤️
@@VisualMind What country are you in ? Just curious I heard of someplace in Europe I think , Finland maybe, that has gotten rid of homeless people. And if it’s where you live, how that is going, it looks like it should work, I hope?Everyone deserves a home. We need an answer for this everywhere now.
Thank you for the video. I used my gelato since years and I love them. I'm trying to complete my collection. 😅 I 've got the neocolor 2 but just the basic box with 10 of them, and I' ve tryed the stabilo Woody in march. I've seen the pastel one with 30% off, so I took them and I used them in my travel journal with the neocolor 2. Such a great time! So for my birthday I bought new stabilo Woody with more vivid colors. Each of those tempted me to try oil pastels, but we'll see... Maybe for Christmas... 😅
Hi! tabilo woody is as well another tools for having fun whit art. My sincerest recommendations because they are water soluble and can have the same feelings as those tempera stick. Thank you so much for your fun video.
I'm curious whether you tried using mineral spirits with these. I feel like by that last one you were really starting to get a good feel for how to work effectively with the medium, and I'd love to see what else you can do with them. They really do layer beautifully and the blends you got once you knew to blend them into each other are lovely. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for some and give them a try!
These look fun! Kwik Stix has a 60 count set for $55 so I might try that instead of buying 3 different sets. I think the price comes out around the same. My favorite art piece was the pastel city, it looks like a cartoon background.
Gelatos are water soluble like caran d'ache neocolors. I haven't tried the gelatos myself because they're pretty expensive in the US. I've been curious about tempura sticks so thanks for this!
I see these as supplies to use for mixed media artwork than for individual use personally. You can use it either way but I feel like its best used when in combination with other supplies.
The Shuttle Art ones weren't "in the wrong order," they were separated by type : classic, metallic, and neon. Each tube (including the pastel ones) is labeled with which type they are.
Have you tried using these over a paper that has first been treated with gesso? Because I have faber castell gelatos and they are fantastic for blending when used over gesso in art journaling, I am thinking that it might help these tempera sticks too.
Could you revisit these lovely pieces you've demonstrated here and update us on how they dried? I did a piece I really liked with gelatos and it looked good for a few weeks but ultimately the colors (particularly the black) turned dull and chalky-looking. Totally ruined the piece. I would like to know if the tempera sticks hold up any better. Thanks!!!
I just checked and they still look the same as when I did them. Keep in mind though that they're in a sketchbook and even the abstract one I did on a sheet of paper I didn't display on a wall. Maybe yours faded because the black is not light fast? That's such a shame though since the gelatos are so expensive. I'd also consider that maybe something is off with the formula of that particular crayon? Sometimes when art supplies are exposed to temperature changes during shipping they do weird things afterwards 😅
@@VisualMind Thanks for checking! You might be right about a problem with the lightfastness of gelatos. I know the company has been called out on that before. From here on in I will confine my gelato work to my sketchbook! Of course the tempera sticks are likely to have the same problem since they are made for kids. But after seeing you use them, I simply can not resist!!! But I will earmark them just for the sketchbook too. Thanks for your video; it was very helpful!
Trop de plastique pour moi. Les Neocolors sont juste emballés d un papier et dans une boite en metal si on achète un set. Merci pour le partage neanmoins😊
Valid point! They do seem to last for quite a while though so I don't think it's that bad. (I'd say it's comparable to markers) But definitely a lot more plastic than neocolors! 😅
I love the layering of the lily pond. ❤❤❤
The colours in this thumbnail alone make me want these 🤣 I'm a sucker for a pastel rainbow. I love the bridge piece too.

these honestly look like so much fun! all your pieces look gorgeous 🥰

I bought something like this last week. Now I'm excited to use them!!!
Hope you like it!
These tempera sticks are my new jam! Love putting down the color and adding ink lines over top. Such fun and reasonably priced (shuttle).
Glad to see you, so happy I watched this I started a picture with these and thought oh my God what have I done. I’m going back to it after I finish another. Hope mine turns out as good as yours. See ya next time love ya 😊👍❤️
I'm glad this motivated you to keep going 😁

Beautiful comparisons!! 👏 I love Neocolor IIs!! ❤️
Thank you 😊
@@VisualMind You're welcome! 😊
I love all of them but the last one the most!
I have not heard of these until I saw you talking about them. I want to try them now. Neocolor ll is one of my favorites so far.
So nice 👌🏻🌷

Thank you! Yeah the Kiwik ones look pretty similar, probably the same or very similar formula :)

Nice art with these. By the way there are gel sticks by Shuttle Art (and other brands) which are dissolvable with water.
Thanks! That sounds so fun! Have you tried them? Do you know how the consistency compares to the tempera sticks?
@@VisualMind yes I tried them. I'd say they're both creamy. I think the gel sticks are thicker.
I see these as supplies to use for mixed media artwork than for individual use personally. You can use it either way but I feel like its best used when in combination with other supplies.
Definitely agree! I'll try them in mix media when I get the chance

Even within those categories they were out of order though if you look at the bottom row
There is also no correct or wrong order. Each company or each user can have different ways or reasons to sort their colors.
Hi, to disolve with water you have to do it quite quickly as they dry and then wont wet very good
