Fanatec ready2race bundle is 440$ + 30$ for diy/Ali boost kit. 470$ Moza cheapest set is 400$ for a base, 125$ for a wheel and 159$ for load cell pedals which is 684$ 114$ for 1nm and load cell brake. If you plan Ali pedals as well with both options... Then yeah, r9 is really a bit better. You're getting 1nm for same price. Cuz you can just skip buying moza pedals, and with fanatec you're forced to buy them to get discount on bundle. I still went with fanatec. In my country it's like 300$ cheaper than moza for some reason)
I would always be worried about those 15 pins having to line up on that QR every time removing the wheel rim and re-installing on the base. Never liked it. You are one of the best reviewers on UA-cam, Thanks for this and all videos.
@@storypunman it’s grooved a certain way so you can only put it on the correct way, impossible to bend the pins while installing and removing wheel. The only way you can damage them is to physically bend them
Got the McLaren 650S CSL DD bundle used for 400€ a few months ago and it has been a great replacement for my old G27. I will probably upgrade to the CS DD when all that Fanatec/Endor hassle is over but until then I'm quite happy with what I've got.
I still have mine =) I went with drive hub for GT7 and O M G lol This title and this feedback is just addictive. I am Eyeing Moza's R12 for the future upgrades with their active pedal too.
Mine was early release and still going strong. Thousands spent on other gear that I also intend to keep. Like a wife should be, try some things and then settle with a good one, don't chip and change just for divorces sake. Now if we can get effective motion equipment that can be used in an upstairs flat with wooden floors and a landlady living beneath.
You say Moza R9 and you get more for your money, But it's a fair chunk more money, The Fanatec DD 5nm with pedals, McLaren wheel and QR2 can be had delivered and all fees for about £460-£470, 50 quid for a knock off boost kit and your good to go for less than £550, The R9 base is 400 quid, The KS wheel is 270/280, And you still have pedals to get, So looking at about £750 for the R9 setup.
Im waiting for BF deals... Currently im running a G923... I don't racing online, i only drifting and cruising! Im between Fanatec, MOZA & Alpha mini... I don't wanna mess up, any extra tips??? Combined money, quality & harmonizing with games???💪😀✌️
My CSL DD has never giving me a single problem. Still love it. On another note, may I ask where you got that rim? It's hard to find a completely flat round/d shape rim. I like the look of the one you have, hoping you got it from Alli.
With qr 2 it is pretty good still but not really recommended to buy for new users as support is not very good currently. Basically still a good product if you still have a good functional product but if you’re looking to buy one unless really needed for support try a different brand as support would be way more useful and you can get replacements quicker in case something is wrong with it.
Had it for a year, it is good value but the build quality is poor. QR isn’t secure enough and had issues with the shaft coming out of the base and disconnecting the wheel. Now i have a simagic base I would never buy fanatec again.
So bro i have question. Im from germany and i wanna buy at fanatec wheel What do you think? Is it still worth it for 400 bucks? I only play beamng Drive now and maybe Ive got my wheel i wanna try out some different games on it
As I say in the video, it still remains a very capable wheel, but wouldn't my first choice to buy today. But maybe look on eBay, if you find a good price on a second-hand unit, then that could be a way to go.
sry no hate , i like your channel but some kind of the same (sry 4 that) nonsense every simguy says..... there was clipping just buy higher torgue base ...... that is totally wrong just tune ingame settings a few % down till there is no clipping ..... and you still get every effekt and detail . sure you can go higher in torgue and thats ok if you want more , but not wrong gamesetting and clipping shut be the point. i´m still on my 8nm csl since about 2 years and came from ts-pc racer what was about 6nm , and still not have the feel of i need rly more torgue power . the biggest bad point on the csl for me is the bs qr1 ^^ not even the minimal play to the wheel , more the wiggle and play the shaft itself gets from time to time

Loving my CSL DD 8nm since i got it back in November 2021. Sure, new stuff has come out. When it breaks I'll replace with something else.

wow the elastic band mod! I will try it right away on mine!

CSL DD is a really good value!
Hope the storm at Fanatec blows over soon and things get back on track.
Im not gonna lie i think 8nm of torque is plenty, I still find myself turning it down, so if your worried about it being weak, I wouldn't worry.
I bought one used 1 month ago, still looking for a used wheel so haven't tried it yet but I payed 170€ for it 😅 very cheap DD on used market anyway
That's a great price. V1 Clubsport universal hubs are usually quite cheap second-hand, so maybe hunt around for one of those.

It's a Sport Line Competition wheel. Not from Ali.
not just the CSL, but the DD1/DD2 have the same EMI issues also.. i ended up goingg the alpha u and all my EMI problems have been resolved.

how do you find the jump from tspc to the csl? is it worth it? i can now buy a used tspc base in my area for 120eur but im thinking of a dd ..
Eh? What incompatibilities are you talking about? FFB is a Direct input standard. All games will work with all wheelbases.
You saw my stack of wheelbases, right? Let's just say, I know a thing or two about this sort of thing.
No not worth it
