Always wanted to play this as a kid. My parents weren’t about that subscription. So I settled on MUDs. I think it’s time to check it out. I have my own computer and everything now.

I happened on a video of yours about 8 months ago and started playing here. Best UO ever. These guys (the devs) did what UO actually needed, they added an end game and didnt shy away (too much) from having PKs all over the place. This server is amazing.

Personally, I like to start out as weak and helpless as possible with no skill boosts so it really is a 'rags to riches' adventure -I mean you're going to get to those stats eventually so why not make it a challenge? Find, collect, and sell regents lying around, pick up discarded items and sell them buy a fishing pole, fishing helps you gain strength, then camping and lumberjacking and switch to other skills to build up, just have fun
Tbh this was what hooked me into UO many years ago. I remember it took me about a year to make my blacksmith I mined all my ore and got robbed and killed a bunch of times mining 😑 but I kept playing but eventually I GM'd and I would spend hours repairing and smithing for people,this eventually made me enough money to build my own house and store selling my gear. Unfortunately they dumbed it all down and everyone built their own blacksmith in a week and this was the downhill slide for UO for most. The game wasn't easy and it was a grind but that was the appeal you worked hard for it and you were held at a high regard because players needed you to repair and make their stuff.

got out of newbie island, used random teleport. I roamed a bit, then some group killed me in like a 2 seconds, my horse and stole my bandages and a weapon that i just brought. Then my friend tells me i need to grind 100k for some codexes and aspects then i can finaly play. Aside my vent videos are highly entertaining and captivating. Easy to understand.
When I watch this kind of videos sometimes I wish I could loose all knowledge about ultima and outlands. Start from the beginning considering all excitement I could have.
Dude if you made some guides for a couple builds going through the starter island, and maybe some really thorough guides on mechanics, you’d get lots of views! Personally I need some pure beginner guides and you have a very clean and informative format.

What I mean is, you have a very clean content format and I feel like even though outlands has come a long way from the archaic systems of the original, it’s still very difficult unless you want to put in the work. I think you could make a very clean cut video from start to finish, building the character, selecting your skills and training them. There are other videos similar to what I’m describing but they are extremely obtuse and can stray from the main topic. Your format is perfect and so efficient.
Butt in the original UO, when you hover over a piece of equipment, it tells you the weapon's stats (for example, strength +8, HCI +15%, etc). How can you do it in Outlands?
There isn't a benchmark for player progression. Just like any mmorpg there are systems and processes in place for player power. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Just play the game and learn as you go by asking questions in a community/guild.
For farming or bosses? Really depends on content Xp/Hr = 1.melee tamer 2.dexxer (high links) 3. Mage tamer Bosses = 1. Dexxer w boss chain 2. Melee tamer 3. Mage tamer Is my guess with current systems
worried that i wont be able to make more than one character . because i tried to play a few years back and made an account or two and forgot the names... is there any way to delete them ? thanks for the vid looking to get back into learning the ropes.)
Have they completely updated everything or is the link wrong? I downloaded an UO Outlands Client via the link given in the description but the interface differs in many aspects and the !musthave settings on discord look different from the settings I have/got other settings in general... not sure if its the wrong client I just downloaded

Im running on 48 hours of no sleep and thought trying to learn how to play a game this complex would be smart, lesson learned really, really painfully. Im gonna catch some zzzs and try again when im more sane bc i really do have fond memories of playing UO with my dad in the early 2000s and outlands looks like it fixes some of the issues we had with the original game back then

I am trying so hard to like Outlands but it's so freakin' complicated. 25+ year veteran of UO and I still don't know. I just can't get into it. =(

What builds would recommended for pvp that is not a mage?
Archer/Wrestler with ~60 magery for interrupts, or Archer/Macer. Poison Dexxer works if you have backup, its not the best solo though.
