I am extremly dispointet that Jutland (Jylland) is just not even mentioned as "The Big 3" as there is far more culture related and coastal life than eny where else in Denmark
Part of the smugness of Danes too, half the population lives in the Greater Copenhagen Region and they have little knowledge of where most of their food comes from --> Jylland.

Dane here, well first of its just LEGO not LEGOS, its a brand name and not plural. secondly, Denmark is not the happiest country in the world, it hasnt been for awhile. Finland I believe is. Also Denmark is amongst the highest per capita user of anti depressants, make of that what you will. and Yes healthcare is without an immediate cost to you but this also means that the healthcare is very subpar and doctors havent really kept up to date with latest and greatest as well as you have to wait months for a specialist sometimes even years. Denmark is also extremely biggoted towards anyone other than Danes, even if you are white. Most Danes believe Denmark is the centre of the universe. This video is littered with halfbaked facts and assumptions, and honestly I wonder how much the creator got paid by some agency from Denmark to do this.
Agree, and you forgot to mention that Denmark has the world highest sea population (per capita) and also the world's highest CO2 Polution (per capita) including Maersk. it was great but you got the flag wrong we got it in 1219 in a great battle we were losing but they say dannebrog flew over the sky granting our worriors strength and we won
I'm sorry to spoil the image, but Denmark, like several other European countries, is about to have its welfare system destroyed by immigrants (especially from Muslim countries). Every year, immigration from non-Western countries costs Denmark 33 billion DKK. + all the billions that Denmark provides in developing country aid. all of which a small 3 million wage earners have to work for. (Denmark's population is 6 million) do the math. Unfortunately, in Denmark we have a number of very naive parties who do not want to face the truth, there is only one way for Denmark, and it is the wrong way, in not so many years there will be a UA-cam video with the title " where did the Danish welfare disappear to" this comment will probably make some of the supporters of the aforementioned parties, and other "woke" people shout racism and other things, but this is just the truth, and it is sometimes badly heard.
The so called "Welfare State" were disbanded 10 years ago. Do you ever wonder? Why the GINI index measurements was cancelled after the pandemic? Immigrants are NOT even in the top 3. The flag, Dannebrog, is MUCH older than you narrate in this video. The common belief is that it has been the flag since 1219. Although that might not be a 100% historical fact, the name, DANNEBROG, is found in 1380. You have only focused on 'official' changes to the format, not the origin of the flag.
In the early 13th century, the Danish king Valdemar Sejr (Valdemar the Victorious) led his army on a crusade in present-day Estonia. During a The Battle of Lyndanisse or Lindanise (now Tallinn, Estonia) on June 15, 1219, the Danes were on the defensive when suddenly a red banner with a white cross fell from the sky. As a result, the luck changed, the Danish army won, and Denmark got its flag
The flag found and brought home most likely was a German Crusaders flag, as they fought close by, as also named in Malta, with a very similar Crusaders Flag now being used as theirs! The original flag is kept in a now German Church, south of the Border and it of course looks very much different from the present used flags! But it is a nice and very convincing story!!!!
Too much talk about Copenhagen. Copenhagen is the Capital of Denmark but most people lives on the main Island you call Jutland (in danish Jylland). Fynen (in danish called Fyn) is the second largest island. The main city is Odense, were Hans Christian Andersen is born. If you come to Denmark. Forget about Copenhagen. See the rest of our country.
Bonus fact: Lars Thiesgaard, a well-known danish voice actor and voice director for many Danish dubbed Disney movies, stated that the higher ups at Disney prefered the Danish dubbed versions over the original American dubs back in the 1990's.
Something that bites me abit is that this video is mainly focused in and about copenhagen like when he said "in Copenhagen you can drink water straight from the tab" I know its a minor detail but ofcourse you can drink tapwater everywhere in denmark.
The Worldfamous LEGO brick is NOT a LEGO invention - it was developed by the English Company “Kiddicraft”. LEGO got the permission to also produce them, and started this in 1949 changing thesize of the bricks to fit the metric dyste. In 1981 LEGO bought the rights from Kiddycraft. The LEGO brick is identical to the Kiddycraft Brinck - even the colours, and boxes they were sold in were identical. LEGO never themselves published this truth about the origin of the brick..
Fun fact: Denmark and Equatorial Guinea are the only two countries in the world where the capital is placed on an island even there is a great part of land attached to a continent.
And I am danish and worked in Equatorial Guinea. The Capital used to be on the mainland but due to risk of invation from Nigeria and Cameroon they moved the Capital to Bioko.
Funny observation. But then, the continental part of E.Q., Rio Muni, is, I think, a very backward place, and the oil is around Bioko. Sad that the life-long president is another stereotype of African dictators, pocket most of the national income for his family, incl. his jetset son. Years ago, hosting the OAU meeting he bought a 100 black Mercedes to transport each of the other presidents the short distance from the airport to Malabo. While the ordinary people were scavenging the roadside.

I don't know about the rest of Europe, but at least in all Nordic countries you can drink the tap water. I have always done it here in Sweden, for instance. About islands, if you want many of those, Sweden has the most of them in the world, I think there are 267570 of them here. That's a lot of islands to explore for a coffee break. Sorry for bragging about Sweden, and I like Denmark too, although I've only been there a few couple of times.
You also have a lot of crime (as in a LOT) you talk backwards, and you don't own a continent which would make aforementioned islands in question look incredibly small in comparison. Even if you added twice or even three times the amount. I don't like Sweden, but I will hand it to you Johnny, your landscapes are breathtaking.
@@Aberrantly I don't know what I wrote that was related to crime, but look at the numbers. It's a lot if you compare it with maybe Norway or something, but it's almost nothing compared to the US, for instance (even when population is taken into account, which it usually is). The rest of what you wrote I didn't understand at all. I'm not sure why I would own a continent, so maybe I just don't understand the language well enough. I'm not a native English speaker, obviously.
@@johnnyrosenberg9522 You didn't write (type, technically) anything that was related to crime per se, I just used it as an example of something that makes Sweden a little less great than Denmark (even if taking population differences into account) As for owning a continent, that was just my way of bragging of how much bigger the Danish monarchy technically is compared to Sweden and all of its smaller islands.
My paternal Grandmother was swedish, and she lived in Elsinore (Denmark), so every time we spent a holiday with her at least a couple of Weeks twice a year, we often went on day trips to Helsingborg (Sweden) just across the strait (25 minuttes by ferry). I loved going to Sweden as a kid and a teen, and the landscapes in Sweden are more breathtaking than the Danish. We sometimes rented a cottage in Sweden for a week during summer time. I also liked that many decades before EU was even invented, Denmark, Sweden and Norway formed a union and we trusted each other to a degree that you didn't even had to bring your passport to cross the borders between those countries. It was also always possible for citizens from any of the three Scandinavian countries to settle down and live and/or work in one of the neighbouring countries and students of the Nordic univeristies could roam freely between Denmark, Sweden a d Norway having one of the best exchange student programs. I remember at some stage almost 40 percent of medicine students in Danish universitets were from Sweden. I've always felt a strong bond to my fellow Scandinavian brothers and sisters, and love the fact that we for the most part understand each others languages. It has always during World championships like football or handball been a natural thing to cheer for one of the other Scandinavian countries' national teams if, for example, our own dropped out of the quarter or semi-finals.
@@AberrantlyWell, I guess we could argue back and forth like forever about what is best. 🤪 Just to be very clear, the ”bragging” part of what I wrote in my first comment was meant as a friendly joke between neighbours and the purpose wasn't to start a debate or anything like that. 👍

@@IvanKristiansen Yes. According to legend, the first ever copy of the red-white flag fell directly from the sky during a battle in Estonia 15 June 1219 between Christian Danes and pagan Estonians. It was a miracle, a sign from God that the Danes would be victorious.

Well, different. You can't always tell if they like or dislike you, and they're very good at being sarcastic (which obviously doesn't help either) - Most Danes aren't into politics and the whole "social media" world, and will likely think low of you if you happen to be (provided that you tell them about it) - Most Danes aren't very religious despite having churches, they mostly just keep them around to preserve history. - Denmark is home to some of the world's finest restaurants, hereunder Noma, Alchemist, Geranium, Kadeau, and AOC.

Dannebrog(the Danish flag) have been in use for 800 years not just 400, nobody pays 50% tax on their income as in income tax , the average payed income tax is 34%, those who pay the highest rate only pay it on amounts over about 100.000 dollars earned, meaning they pay the lower rate on everything under 100.000 earned, that said with the vat and tax on a lot of things it does end up that high all included , it's just important to separate the two because a lot of people think the income tax is 50% and everything else is on top of that
This is a great video. I'm showing some African migrants that just landed in Italy right now. They should be arriving to Denmark after winter. They want to thank the Danish taxpayers for the opportunity to bring much needed diversity!
A very kind and promotional image of the country. There are a few hiccups in terms of photos for the images shown - as well as some historic inaccuracies. For example when showing landscapes, suddenly there is something from the Faroe Islands, and then some rocky terrain, away from the coverage of Bornholm, the only place where that is found. But it certainly gives a very good impression of the country (where there are of course also a few problems, like almost everywhere). Not least Americans - now appropriately called Trumpists - who are scared sick of anything just tasting of caring for the less fortunate - shouting extreme leftist lunatics and communism - should be forced to sit down and watch it. Never mind Trump himself. He is too stupid to understand it.

Some of these so called facts are indeed wrong. People don't just get a free money if they become unemployed, you need to earn that right by being a member of what's called an A-Kasse. you pay a monthly fee and certain requirements needs to be met before you are able to collect economical aid. If you are not a member of an A-Kasse or you have not met the requirements then you can't get any economical aid from them. You can then go to the local government and apply for economical aid, but you are only able to get that if you meet certain requirements. The amount you can get in aid is a lot less than what you get from an A-Kasse. That's an important thing to know. Especially if you are single with no kids.
That a very romantic story, but it's not as good as it sounds here... Many people are homeless and poor, our water is getting bad much to fast, because we pollutes our groundwater, mostly because agriculture sprays profusely...

@@sandermitt The king got his flag, it took many 100 years before that flag became the national flag.
@@sandermitt That's a myth, not historical fact.

Half your income in taxes?? I pay 80% once you include fees, VAT and the rest.
@@johnnyrosenberg9522 You didn't write (type, technically) anything that was related to crime per se, I just used it as an example of something that makes Sweden a little less great than Denmark (even if taking population differences into account)
As for owning a continent, that was just my way of bragging of how much bigger the Danish monarchy technically is compared to Sweden and all of its smaller islands.

No 1. Isn't correct anymore. We even dropped from no 1 on The best country to live in list. Because of our well rather collapse system.
Definitely needs a update.
Because it's not good.
Funny to see how almost half of the footage is not Danish, for example all the money seen are US$! And all the health personale is not Danish either, doctors and nurses don't wear white smocks in private clinics ... but the ten facts are facts. Enjoyed to see the video anyways.
