      Hi,
      I'm Danish born and bread. 58 years old NOT from Copenhagen though I think most Danes are fluent in English the children as well we learn it from the 1st grade now I learned it from the 5th grade. I think that apart from really old people we all understand English that's why on our public transport in Copenhagen is also in English so that people from other countries also understand the announcements on the speakers.🎉

      The variety is the spice. Most foreigners think Copenhagen is all there is thus the country (because of its size) must be like this everywhere, only that's really just one small part of the culture... For its size, it's still as different within as say Texas is to New York or L.A.

    I have not seen the mermaid in Denmark, but I have seen a copy in a place very far away. There is a resort called Danish Lagoon in Siquijor, Philippines that is designed like a theme park of HC Andersen and on the beach you will find the mermaid. The place is owned by a Danish couple.

      @shaving_ryans_privates_4408 2 роки тому +1

      @@pgpc6448 Yeah, we Danes really appreciate when someone of a higher rank or authority is on the same level as everyone else. If a teacher walks in and expects to be referred to by their last name, the students won't respect them, and will most likely refer to the teacher as their first name regardless of the teacher's authority. The same thing applies to other people of authority like police, your boss etc. I don't know how people would talk to the judge in court tho, as almost all courts are behind closed doors and almost never filmed.

      @@freewithnature When police officers speak to me, after looking at my ID or something, they refer to me by the first name. I haven't spoken to a police officer where I knew their name, but I'd think it's quite natural here in Denmark for citizens to refer to police officers as well by their first name. Wow!! I am an older American and I was in Copenhagen a few years back with one of my kids who was working there for a short time. I learned more about the city and country from your video than I did when I was there. I enjoyed my visit a lot but I was struck by several things which over time I have come to a better perspective about. One, it did seem that most people out and about were young people 25-35 years old or so. It also seemed that everyone had money. I didn't see anyone who looked strapped for cash at least in appearance. It was very neat and clean and I found the people to be friendly and welcoming and I never met anyone who couldn't speak English. It had a bit of the same vibe as you get in a upscale planned community in the US where everyone appears to be similar. That alone can make you feel comfortable if you too fit that demographic which I did. It did feel crowed and the Airbnb we had was very nice but very small especially the bathroom. Last but not least I was blown away by the number of bikes. Bikes were literally everywhere by the hundreds or thousands. Anyway thanks for the tour and facts about your home country. You have a talent for doing this. I wish you well!!

    One thing about income tax, if you're paying 55% income tax, you're not paying 55% on all of your income as its a tiered system. The first tier is tax free!
    As for what the tax pays for? One thing was mentioned here - student grants (or the "wage" as it was called). Others are subsidised childcare, free schooling, free healthcare, subsidised dentists, basic unemployment benefit, no university/ college fees, statutory sick pay etc.

      Kc.1:8 This Message says that... Lutheran churches, orthodox churches, Catholic churches, Anglican churches, Methodist churches, Jehovah’s witnesses, Islam, Buddhists, Judaism, Rosicrucianism, monasteries, convents and all the other religions are purgatories and nets of Satan to send mankind to hell and the spirits that act in those churches are not the Holy Spirit, but demons of seduction.

    One correction to the video: there is no minimum legal drinking age in Denmark, you are allowed to consume alcohol from birth, but you are not allowed to buy it yourself until you are 16 (and 18 for stronger liquors). So if your parents allow you, you can have a party and legally drink at all ages...

    Denmark is a beautiful country, despite the weather. You probably don't notice it, but it's SO clean! For good weather, come visit South Africa. Just be prepared for unnecessary litter, poverty and things that don't work properly.....if I were rich enough, I would live in Denmark or Sweden for half the year and in South Africa for the other half.

    Don't know why? You said you grew up in Denmark.... what if I mention Hans Christian Andersen? The Danish Writer, who wrote the fairytale of "The little Mermaid", who lived in 1805 and died the 1890'es?
    Nyhavn, is inspired, as well as I know, by the architecture in Amsterdam, and Hans Christian Andersen *lived* in a house in Nyhavn, where he was writing a lot of his fairytales

      @@岡洋介-g3g Hans Christian Andersen, *is* famous, around the world yes. For his fairy tales. But reading them thoroughly, you might be able to read the pain he experienced while he lived. The people in Denmark, during the 1800s, was not having easy times. It did become better as we went up through the century, but it was hard times in Denmark, as well as in other countries of the world during those years. Can't say I know Oda Nobunaga, so I won't know what it is with her

    I think that SU is more than just "school paying you for studying." It's supposed to help everyone who wants to learn pay for necessities such as housing, food, transport, clothing etc. so education is affordable to everyone not only to the rich
