You are correct about the Athlete. Greg Rutherford - Olympic Gold medallist in the Long Jump in 2012. At the time of filming he was the reigning Olympic champion. There is another story from the same episode where Lee makes a joke about him playing in sand-pits.
Also Champion of World 2015
To add, the American word for sandpit is sandbox.
I never skip your intros, its always wholesome and cozy
❤❤ thank you!!
Lee Mack’s joke at 6:42
The red haired guy is Greg Rutherford, he won an Olympic gold medal for the long jump
I think Henning has lived here for a long time and the German accent helps make him seem naive , he gets our sense of humour and seems to have been a bit adventurous in his youth . Maybe not so many stories as Bob Mortimer but they are all weird and wonderful .I enjoy the intros , after all I've usually seen the clip .
Thanks
Henning is pure gold to listen to
Love the reaction, it’s true to say most of us have mad stories if you think about it but none of us are a guest on WILTY ❤😂
I always watch you from the start to the end I try supporting those I sub'd to I was told watching start all the way until it ends itself helps. Dont put your self down jokes are different when we are around our wives and girlfriends. You keep on making us chuckle 👍😎
I love your intros and the banter between you. All good entertainment !
❤❤
i watch the intros, you guys have great chemistry. you're a charming pair.
Yep I watch and yes I do cringe 😂😂 but that's the beauty of it. Carry on Sir
People have such interesting things that happen in their lives
Henning has fantastic comic timing. He's an extremely close second to Bob. But I love them all
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Btw On 31 December 1992, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the two sovereign states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Love anything Henning says .just pure entertaining.
watch from the start cos something may be missed. great reaction. was hoping true.
I very much enjoy the banter pre-video Nick👌
Thanks.
❤❤
What a great way to start my day , Whether it’s truth or lie, it’s all about enjoying the moment. : "It’s funny how these shows make you question everything!
My morning routine change from the radio to your fun reactions

Ceuta and Melilla are the two Spanish enclaves on the Moroccan mainland. Mention them whenever a Spaniard talks about Gibraltar 😉
Or just dont needlessly antagonise. Either or.
Not really the same when Ceuta and Melilla are right next to Spain and Gibraltar is hundreds of miles away from Britain is it?
@@TheLastCrusader22 Spain's argument has never centred on Proximity, but purely landmass so it's a perfectly valid argument
The athlete is long jumper Greg Rutherford.
Olympic Gold medallist too.
Some viewers are so easily offended😂. Get some fresh air people 😂. Love your channel Nick and Jodi! Especially Nick’s hee hee hees 😅. Happy Sunday!
❤❤
Hey, I watch the whole thing!
(I take off my music headphones and concentrate fully once you start the video, but I *watch* the whole thing! lol)
JK!
I like the whole package from start to finish, you guys are a great couple and hosts!
Folks, Spain has a region in Morocco, called 'Ceuta and Melilla', and there's a lot of goods and people travelling between mainland Spain and Ceuta and Melilla in Morocco/Africa ✌️
You guys should check out the Martin Clunes "you're fired" clip from WILTY, can't remember ever seeing a reaction to that one!
Always watch from the start as you always make me laugh with your messing. joking and teasing 👍
Thanks so much.
What I love about this show is, in this case, despite Henning’s long and winding tale, the only thing he has to defend as what he is saying is the “truth” is what is written on the card. He can create a totally untrue story about "the truth”, but in the end it is whether the line on the card is true or not.
There is another part of this episode where Lee claims he deliberately made his small child cry.
I still remember that intro that made me laugh in the first second of the video: "All right, welcome back to p_rn reviews... what? You know that's what the auto-captions are gonna say anyway..."
Glad you liked that one. It’s crazy how the subtitles think we say that
Greg Rutherford was London 2012 Olympic Long jump champion on what referred to as super Saturday as was part of several gold medalist within few minutes
I once knew a lad who had to call his work to say he couldn’t come in that day because he was in Barcelona and he had no idea how he got there from the UK after going out for a few pints with his mates.
There’s a fun conspiracy that Henning was German Secret Intelligence and if you take clues from all his stories especially his awkwardness in describing locations and reasons for being there or his job description it kinda makes sense😂
We don't cringe, and your hair is lovely :)
❤❤
Have a ping pong bat and turn them to say truth or lie, so you can both say at the same time.
How intelligent am I 😊

Fyi, Scandinavia is not a country, it's a somewhat loosely defined geografical area. It usually refers to Sweden, Norway and Denmark, however it can sometimes refer to the Scandinavian Peninsula which excludes Denmark but includes parts of Finland.
I'm naturalised Danish. I've never heard of Scandinavia not including Denmark. But maybe that's more of a translation thing than a geographic one.
Either way. We're certain that Scandinavia is a region consisting of multiple countries.
@@Fwholeam Swedish myself and when you say Scandinavia it usually includes Denmark, but The Scandinavian peninsula Denmark is not part of that geographically since it is not connected to the other Scandinavian countries by land mass. Geopolitically Denmark is included. It's a bit of a mess tbh.
I take Scandinavia as being Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
@@Jodi_BoringReviews well as I said there are basically 2 ways to look at it. Scandinavia is Denmark Sweden and Norway cause they have historically very similar culture and very similar language, so much so that they are able to have conversations between each other using their native tongues. The Scandinavian peninsula is a geographical area made up of Swe/Nor/Fin cause they make up the peninsula.
In my experience it's mostly people outside our countries that use "Scandinavia". We mostly use "Nordic" since that is a much less limiting term that can and does include Finland, Iceland and the Faroes, and possibly Greenland. I for one almost never use "Scandinavia" or "Scandinavian" in normal everyday/regular speech. There's a reason our national anthem refers to "jag vill leva, jag vill dö i NORDEN" and not "Skandinavien"
All teachers are performers. Some good, some bad.😏
When I lived in Spain it was easy to pop over to Morocco for a quick visit cos it's not so far away.
Henning is brilliant
Love your bonnet pal have you got a Ryu 🧢 too ? ☄️👍🏻
I wish. Actually no I don’t. I’m a Ken fan all the way. I’d always pick Ken and my brother would always pick Ryu and we’d always discuss and argue which was better even though they are so identical in their moves and their stances
Don't worry. I'm here for the intros. Wilty, won't he??

He's not hesitating to throw you off the scent. He's German. English isn't his first language. He's a) taking to think of the correct words to describe the experience and b) taking time to think because it happened back in the 90s, over twenty years ago, He probably has to think hard to remember back that far. I'm in my thirties and even I have trouble remembering stuff that happened then.
True and ,for comedic effect and to attempt to tthrow you off the scent,he is,also, doing that deliberately. Henning is very fluent when he chooses to be:)
Henning is definitely trying to throw the others off the scent. He's very fluent in English. He doesn't have to stop and think of the correct word in other contexts.
churchill - if you are going through hell , keep going
Best thing is, that you don't have (and please don't even think it!) under/over 30sec beginnig vid/music compilation... That's the thing that makes me jump to walls - a full volume flash/bang bomb. I have serious epilepsy and some of those starting "logos" are really disturbin
Chat with each other, take a "rip an appe in half" contest or take a boxing round 🥊
Wilt he, or won't he, not that you'll read this lol.
Totally read it. ❤
I am waiting for the intro where Jodi snaps and knocks Nic out.
You will be waiting forever. Sorry.
There used to be a joke/riddle that cropped up in children's comics when I was young: "Which Scandinavian city is in Czechoslovakia?"
Oslo?

I think you guys missed the reference when Henning said, “You wouldn’t just tell your local bobby”. Bobby is an old British slang word for policeman.
I (we) actually did know that term. Haha
You would like to see my six pack. I keep it in the Fridge. I Recommend Sweetheart Stout. It's less than £5 for four cans at Tesco.
Great reaction! It occurred to me that you are missing out on the slightly longer *WILTY - This is my* versions when all 3 panelists are questioned about their link to "This Is My ...". Here is a funny clip with Henning Wehn This is my... Featuring Nicola, with Henning Wehn, Lee Mack, and Ben Miller- Would I Lie to You? Enjoy! Thanks!
Also you must look into is James Acaster.
Germans tend to be quite adventerous travellers... (any risk will be taken, as long as you have a "Reiserücktrittversicherung"). Check out Vince Ebert, he talks on the subject (in english)
Yeah, I look at those old videos in black and white from around 100-years-ago, of hoards of people leaving the factory and think, wow they are all dead. All of their worries totally irrelevant now, and I think I should worry much less. It doesn’t help of course.
I recommend you watch more of the stories from Claudia Winkleman, Rhod Gilbert, and Greg Davies, they have plenty of good ones you haven't seen yet.
I thought it was a lie because Henning said his parents called the German Embassy in Morocco but he only decided to go to Morocco after he met Mohammed on the train. His parents were only aware he was going to Spain...
Even if they hadn't had any contact since he decided to go to Morocco, the postcard was sent from Morocco, and the poststamp says where it is sent from.
The books bit might be true. Morocco was quite conservative & oppressive at the time. Henning might have taken up with a dissident.
The woman is a TV journalist that presents a True Crime show, so she has intense interest in Interpol etc.
Hello glasses 😎
Just looked at the Interpol misisng person list 😮.
I wonder what was actually in that briefcase
War and Peace and Lord Of The Rings and some white stuff,apparently...
@@Isleofskye oh... probably those silica packs to absorb moisture so the books dont get damaged
Neither Czechoslovakia or Scandinavia or countries
Scandinavia isn't a country. 😄
Come on give them a break, they are Americans.
I was scrolling to see if anyone had said this yet 😂
This story reminds me of ............ well I can't quite think of anything to be honest.
Well if you could think of it it’d be like that
Shrove Tuesday the day before ash Wednesday is pancake day, as you're religious I'm sure you'll know when that is.
I skip forward - but as you can't be bothered to read the comments then you wont know this!
I just read your comment
I enjoy what you do but I do sometimes skip the back and forth at the start, I like your friendly banter but for fun I have put a few comments on which may have been lost in translation , Brits can seem a bit harsh but it intended to be funny. Don’t let the haters get to you there are always a few miserable people.
I have no issues with YT not reading comments, in fact given how negative they can be it’s probably a good idea. Those demanding you do probably thin you are their friends, all the more reason not to reply.
I appreciate this. It is a tough thing. I like to interact with others around the world here and discuss things we react to, but yes, people can be very angry, disrespectful and needy. If I do respond with a negative comment to defend myself they get offended and hide behind some lame excuse. It is very sticky. But I should interact with those who do take the time the show respect.
You 2, how about checking global map of countries to raise your geographical knowledge?✌️
WILTY/won’t he ….
Definitely not funny but hey, it’s your thing
I pretend to not cringe during the intros
One man's cringe is another man's entertainment. Thanks for watching anyways. We are just always trying to switch it up and keep things fresh and not like something off an assembly line.
@BoringReviews Indeed ! Don't get me wrong i truly appreciate the vids. Laughter is the best medicine 💊 and comedy reactions are one of the best things on the internet as they're a great way to discover new shows/comedians or revisit favorites. 😃💙
(as i was revisiting this i realized that due to w/e delay between recording and posting the relevant "do you cringe ?" and "play along/pretend" banter in the intro may have been forgotten 🖖)
Thanks for the reply. I did remember that we asked this question this time. No offense taken. No one wants to be cringey but we’re parents of teenagers. We can’t help it. But usually I do forget what questions we ask as there is that delay. Thanks
God this bloke is annoying. Loves the sound of his own voice and thinks everything he says is interesting. It really isn't. I wish the lady did these on her own. 🙄
I Disagree 😁
Wow. It’s interesting how some people see things. It’s all good. I definitely don’t love the sound of my voice. But there are a few factors in recording on YT that you may not be aware of. 1. If you get it to at least 10 minutes that’s the sweet spot for traffic and ads. 2. Jodi doesn’t like to speak too much on recording so I talk a lot to help her out. 3. My memory sucks so if I don’t say what’s on my mind when I do then it’s gone. With that one being said I do cringe at myself in editing when I see how much I talk over her.
Thanks
@@BoringReviewsDon’t think too much into the negative comments Nick, reading through the others there are definitely more positive ones, and don’t change your style 🙂
Ooooh no. Just seen that you don't bother reading any comments. ... so why do you ask for viewers to leave a comment????? Slightly rude and disrespectful!!!!!! Am very disappointed. As much as I like your videos, not sure how I feel about supporting you going forward. ... but you won't know this and I guess its not important to you. Shame.
Which comment(s) are you referring to. Don’t be so offended by us not reading and remembering all of the comments. I used to read and respond to all of the comments but unfortunately so much of it was such unnecessary hate that it wasn’t healthy for me to read it all and get frustrated and even respond to some. So I now take a more casual approach. I have been told hundreds of times by audience members that the comment sections is for the audience and I should stay out of it.
You’re taking this too personally 😂
One reason content creators ask for comments is because of the UA-cam algorithm. Videos that have more engagement(likes, comments, replies) get recommended more to others while those without get buried. It can make or break a channel. I think it's important for content creators to engage with their audience in the comments but I fully understand why they may be put off it because of the trolls and generally miserable people that go after them. They have every right and should protect their mental health. Being a public figure is a mixed bag.
If I were a content creator, I'd run the comments through a filter or wait a day until comments have had likes/dislikes and engage those within the upper portion of the comment section and not even read those close to the bottom(that's usually where the troll/hateful comments end up after being disliked enough).
Maybe I misheard, but I thought what was said is that you don't bother reading the comments. I completely get that it would be impossible to read each one, and I do not like it when people make mean comments. The remark simply threw me. However, if I misheard, then of course I sincerely apologise for that.
We didn’t mean every single comment. What I meant is that Nick used to read every single one way back but like what had been said the comment section is so toxic and full of people bashing us for silly reasons that we needed to take a backseat to it. It’s not healthy to read and respond to all of them.
Ok Nick, since you ask on the QI ones, it does annoy me a bit how you refer to QI, pronouncing it as 'key ' lol.
Well, I cringe when you insult Jodi.
Sorry that you do. We’ve been married or 17 years. We don’t insult one another. We have banter. It’s never personal or serious. People who have friends of a few years do the same thing. Again. 17 years! I’m not disrespecting her. It’s just a tongue and cheek thing
@@BoringReviews I was married 14 years, and know the look she gives you. Just,… be careful.
@@BoringReviews “Here she shuts up”
Dude.
Ditto with the cringe!! So infantile.
Talk about over thinking a comedy sketch..
Nah, we are just discussing it. For fun.
Scandinavia is NOT a country :(
Both you guys are lovely, but you don't bother responding to your YT comments. IMO that's just rude and disrespectful. It's a shame.
Which comments are you referring to? We don’t read and respond to all of them that is correct but we do respond to the ones we read.
