My favourite detail in the Alien: Earth teaser is the shot of those covert looking soldiers treading through water. They seem intentionally designed to resemble the xenomorph with the protruding back things and dome headware. Just a neat shot
I love that idea, I like when a studio does not throw out older movies just because it bombed. Not only would it link the movies, it would also explain why the company is looking for the xenomorphs, and how they knew about them in the 1st movie
I really like the idea of filling the gap between Covenant and Alien, but I don't like the idea of xenomorphs being on earth before the Nostromo discovery. I really hope they have a good explanation of events that doesn't undermine the original film.
I'm looking forward to ANY AND ALL new Alien content. I'm not picky, everything is groovy. Comics too, which have had some good ones since Marvel aquired Dark Horse.
I look forward to it, but I hope it doesn't connect to the prequels since they fuck up the timeline. If, as you speculate, the crashed ship is the colony ship, reaffirming that David created the Xeno's, then how does an Engineer's ship full of them wind up on LV-426, for who knows how many years before the Nostromo finds it?
Given the year its taking place, I'd say it's definitely connected to Alien Covenant and closing that gap that was left wide open between that and the original Alien. Too... Ridley Scott is an Executive Producer for the series. I seriously doubt he's gonna do something to connect Covenant with the original Alien.
I love both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, so hearing for the longest time that Alien: Earth was going to take place before Prometheus made me fairly apprehensive. I get that the prequels are a polarizing part of the franchise but they’re still from the man who started it all, they don’t deserve to be pushed aside. Or at least I don’t think so. And for all we know that still might be the case, I know Noah Hawley said that the Xeno being this recent creation doesn’t do him any good. So they could retcon Ridley Scott’s intention to have David be the creator of the Xenomorph to just having David create his own version via Engineer technology. Either way, I just want any sort of continuation from Covenant. Whether David is the creator or not, his story deserves to continue so if Earth has some kind of tie into Covenant I’ll be more than happy.
Gotta say, the Xenos in some form are older than David making them period. The first film shows a ship that is very old full of the eggs. Other loose canon stories operate on this idea. David’s just a mad scientist android who is reinventing something but adding his own twist. Ridley Scott can say what he wants lol. But it contradicts himself
One thing I'm very confident about is the presence of the cosmic horror beyond human comprehension that Noah talked about so much. I feel that possibly this series will try to be its own story, without connecting too much to the prequels as Romulus did, and maybe we'll even see something similar to Alien with the derelict ship, but this time on another moon, with another crew aboard the USCSS Maginot.
Much like you, I’m fully on board to see the return of the Runner Alien design. Out of the many Xenomorph designs, the Runner Alien designs is the one i want to see make a return and not be confined to just solely Alien 3
I really liked the Alien comics of the 80s and 90s. The whole Earth War run - which really emphasized the hyper-capitalism of Weyland-Yutani and all the other corporate entities constantly in battle for money and power, morals and ethics at minima. I liked how the Earth hive was started by a corporation getting a hold of an Egg, and raising the xenomorph in high tech captivity until a group of "pro-alien" cultists free the queen, starting the beginning of the Earth War. Now I'm not saying it should be exactly like that, but I feel like that is the bones of a great tv series. You've got the dark drama of the corporations, the weird misguided ideas of people who view the xenomorph as a savior or a better sentience or whatever, and then ultimately, the beginning of the battle for Earth, the loss of Earth, and then later the retaking (should the series be a success with multiple seasons). I e long said the comics had some decent stories that would be good for tv.
I’ve always wondered why no one bothered to adopt the Dark Horse comics into film or television. The original AVP comics were miles better than the shit films we got. But hey - there’s a cow (sheep?) eye in the trailer. If the aliens are impregnating animals, maybe we’ll see some story elements from the Operation Aliens toy line.
Very exciting turn of events! Especially since the concept art from about two years ago shows some very familiar exhaust ports on the ship that crashes on earth and it's definitely not the Covenant in that artwork.
I always kind of had the impression that Weyland-Yutani already knew about the Xenomorphs before they sent the Nostromo (Hence why Ashe was placed onboard) I think this could verify that little piece of headcannon for me lol
To present a different scenario, one must admit that the amount of time between the prospective series (2120) and the events on the Nostromo (2122) is just not enough time for these events to be related. Even if it was determined that the ship that crash-landed on Earth was from LV426 almost immediately, the Nostromo would already be on its return trip, and its course was completely as the crew expected until the interruption of their hypersleep, so the detection of the distress call/warning message would have been completely coincidental with the events on Earth. I'd have preferred that the creators of the series had taken their inspiration from the comics series that outlined the near complete extermination of mankind once the Xenomorphs became entrenched here. But I'll settle for anything well-conceived and well-written, as I'm sure you'll agree. Thanks for your work on this channel, I enjoy it a great deal. You also tipped me to the Alien Stompers a few years ago, and I was able to get some. I had bought a pair of the original Rebocks when they were first offered, and the fact that there was a way to get a new pair gave me great delight. Keep bringing us the teasers of any work that's coming.
i saw another teaser trailer that mostly took place on a contemporary looking space station, featuring face huggers, something that looked like the neomorph, and the line "whatever happens, we cant let these creatures reach earth".
Unless this event was completely kept secret from the world, how could there be no knowlege of aliens on earth 57 years after this show if this happened around the time of Alien?
Because it’s all a steaming pile of convoluted bs. Funny how a little sci fi film that came out in ‘79 is still being curb stomped into the ground. Talk about creative bankruptcy lmao!
The company has always known about them. They just lie to the workers like Ripley. They have been trying to capture and turn them into bio weapons from the getgo.
Hawley has specifically said that he isnt interested in the prequels' interpretation of the Alien, so I doubt there will be any explicit connections to those movies. Thank the Gods. I am just really eager to see a new Alien scifi story without a dull 'ancient aliens' B-plot.
Can’t wait for this one, and I’m very pleased that the series seems to have accepted and incorporated, rather than rejected, the RS prequel films. I still think David-8 has a date with destiny with Ripley-8, and that such a confrontation on Orgae-6 post-Rez would be the most thematically and philosophically satisfying conclusion to the prequel story, but whatever this series holds, I’m glad it’s trying to expand on what we have rather than revise away particular plot points in the name of fan service.
We've already had Aliens on Earth in AVP and AVPR (and multiple other EU products) long before the events of Prometheus. This is not a novel or problematic idea for this show. Also, Covenant's events take place in 2104, not 2101.
Please Noah Hawley let’s have some character development before they get killed off. And no callbacks! I want vicious and aggressive xenos aka Alien 3 (practical effects). I would love to see the exploration of the alien in the chair and the idea that it was growing out of the chair. Not a suit. Basically more Giger!
I also agree with the David thing. He already forked an entire planet while watching in fascination. So.... Yeah... I can TOTALLY see David going to Earth with his new friends....
While I’d be open to this finally bringing some closure to the prometheus storyline, I recall Noah Hawley saying he wasn’t interested in the story of the prequels, or something along those lines. Plus Ridley Scott has confirmed he’s developing a new Alien movie. I would prefer to see the prequel story get its conclusion on the big screen.
The confirmation of the year this story takes place removes a gigantic weight off my shoulders. It has always been rumored to take place much earlier in the timeline that always pissed me off because nothing made sense then afterwards. How can't anyone in the original films (yes, including Aliens) know of these aliens if an outbreak took place half a century before they were born or so? Now it's just 2 years prior to Alien. So, sure, some absolutely do know & I think we all look forward to just how much Weyland-Yutani indeed knew. But now it makes sense why Ripley herself had no idea of this creature. I don't know when she left Amanda at home to do her job on the Nostromo but it realistically should have been during this very same time as Alien Earth happens. Ripley is simply not home. And if Alien Earth geographically contains the Xeno outbreak so that most of mankind will never learn just how darn lucky they were then Earth finally fits in. Previously, it never did for me. If they had revealed this sooner I think the hype had been greater. Many have had a problem with when in the timeline this was meant to happen.
Don't be surprised if events in this series don't line up with Prometheus or Covenant. Noah already said he's not counting them as canon. This is a prequel to Alien and that's it.
I hope you are doing alright, and I also hope this show is a decent kick off to a show that takes elements from Alien Earth War. That could be really good!
Pretty sure the one image is of a cow. Wasn’t it confirmed by Noah a while ago that we would be seeing the xenomorph come from different hosts? And since its set on earth im almost sure well be seeing other animal hybrids too
For those that have been following your channel this is a dream come true I know you're proud thanks for the knowledge too now I know what to expect in the show Romulus was amazing and definitely is up there in my opinion with the best of these movies
I thought it was awful. One of the main characters essentially has a nap for most of the movie. they are technically slaves yet have skill sets that include flying multiple spacecraft and familiarity with their systems and weapons handling ..from a magazine. Apex murder species of the galaxy get's beaten by a bunch of utter nobodies is getting a bit boring. I'd rather they get to Earth and wipe the planet.

Atrocious.
I mean damn.... These things could destroy earth really quickly, as we have seen. How terrifying.... I personally just want more movies. Similar to the Terminator Anime, It might be cool, and good. I rewatched Terminator Genesys Recently. Aside from a bit of a hard to follow story and narrative choices about Time Travel. That movie is freaking Great. I would easily say it's the best Terminator movie after T2. And I really Liked Salvation.... Dark Fate can buzz off.
@@mytzlplk That is what the canceled Alien 5 was suppose to do. One of the Alien video games also did that, well it had it so Hicks was still alive. Alien 3 still happened. The body that was believed to be Hicks was someone else.
I’m calling it now, it’s the Covenant, and David 8 is on board waiting. He destroyed the Engineer Homeworld, now he’s going to try and finish the job. Michael Fassbender will be in this series for sure 👍
Frankly, I have more than a few doubts about this series: let's start from the fact that I fear they could create a season where the xenomorphs appear very little, and we mostly get caught up in the machinations of WY. Which, of course, would be very interesting, but from a series called "Alien: Earth", I hope that xenomorphs exist, and often exist. Secondly, the issue of the pre-Alien date can be resolved with a cover-up: the public will never know about the presence of the xenomorphs. But at that point the question remains about the WY commission of Aliens: they were aware, but did they lie to Ripley? or was it low labor? Any other concerns (like the discovery of the wreck signal, or the fact that the company didn't try to recover the urns from LV-223), I'll keep to the series. I'm curious, of course. But after many recent rip-offs, I'm now very cautious about getting excited about it.
I think this being set after Covenant is super interesting. I really want some kind of conclusion to the prequels and hopefully this show will deliver. Fuck I just hope it doesn't suck:)
Well Prometheus is good timeline wise, and shows the Alien was around before hand. Covenant not only contradicts that, but screws up the timeline with the first Alien film. the short films add to the Bluray not only further screws things up, but contradicts the actual film Covenant. Romulus shows a connection to Prometheus, and Alien with nods to Aliens, Resurrection and even the game Isolation. They smartly ignored Covenant altogether, not saying it was removed from canon just not mentioned. If this Alien Earth takes place before Alien, they could play it smart and take a note from AvP. In that it shows how WY learns of the Alien, and how no one else knew of the events that took place. But if they connect it to Covenant, and throw in mentions of it etc. then they will just further throw into question the timeline and the creation of the Alien that Covenant screws up.
I have high hopes for this one. Romulus wasn't amazing but I liked it a lot. I'm hoping this series while not building on the same story can keep the right momentum going for the franchise.
I'll watch... but I'm skeptical of the "pre-Nostromo" timeline for the series. The events of the original film need to feel remote, isolated far out into the nigh-unreachable reaches of explored space, to maintain its terrifying tone. If another crew has encountered another Alien first, and brought it to Earth two years prior to the events of the first film, it undermines the tension and terror of those events, makes it seem less special or less urgent, and shrinks down navigable space to a region where these previously remote, bizarre, singular extraterrestrials are a dime a dozen.
thank you for your content! this new "Earth" one looks good!! if it ends up on Hulu (or some other streaming platform), I don't know if I'll see it on that platform (trying to not have too many subscriptions), but if I don't I'll prob get the dvd/season if they make it (if it's a series or a full-length feature film). I saw Romulus in theaters during Summer and am looking forward to my dvd pre-order in December!
I don't hold high hopes for it. Romulus was good, but I wouldn't take that as a sign. It did fix some plot holes for Alien and Aliens, but it was very much a rehash of what we've seen before, just handled better than what other movies have tried. For instance, it was done so much better than Star Wars episode 7, which was just one giant rehash of 4, but with new action figures to collect
this is great news, I've always been a fan of the prequels, fingers crossed also I'm excited to see the future advancements on earth, I know it's highly unlikely but seeing the different synthetic models operating within the society etc.
David needs to be retconned out. An android on overriding orders to recover a specimen I can track. A self aware android out to eradicate humanity because “daddy issues” I can’t.
@@mikewaterfield3599 What you laid out sounds layered and deep. A robot becoming sentient like Bicentenial Man or A.I. And becoming real, is an allegory for us as Created Beings ala Free Will or the age old trope of being Mad at God for this existence.... I am not saying I disagree with you about wanting this or that for the Franchise. But what you wrote got my head thinking. I would categorically support more David in any form. I just want to see what happens... I love Prometheus and Covenant not for them being technically perfect or cohesive. But for exploring some really awesome themes in Humanity. Where did you come from?... Where did you go? Where do we come from, Katman Jo?
As much as I'm looking forward to this, I'm a tad hesitant of it taking place just two years before Alien. Having the Xenomorph on Earth kind of takes away the wonder and mystery of the Xenomorph in the 1979 film. But, we'll see!
It's probably gonna be good since to keep up with the proper timeline no one outside Weyland yutani knows about xenos meaning it has to be a downer ending with everyone and the xeno dying so no one will survive to reveal this discovery.
Given the use of hypersleep and the length of the journey, wouldn't this mean that the crew of the Nostromo had already left when the events of A:E take place?
Did I not read somewhere that the director of this show says the Prequels have nothing to do with this series or has that been changed now? The fact the date now is 2120 means I think they have changed their mind and it might be linked to the prequels
Looking Forward to this Alien Series and have ya Heard Ridley Scott is working on a New Alien Movie and it’s Rumored to Be the Sequel of Prometheus and Convenant the soo much Talked About Alien Awakening.

edit: to all the retards who want to pile on, I am more than happy to debate the movie on a platform that will not censor my words. if you don't want to do that, sod off.

No, you laid that out correctly - pay no attention to the guy above who wants to drop that utterly BS, fawning statement, then try to act like he didn't invite - and earn - all the heaps of deserved criticism that should come his way for such a misguided (and misguiding) statement praising poor filmmaking. Atrocious.

I hated Romulus hopefully this show is better
Love this channel. Tribvtes from Germany... Ps:alien out if shadows audio drama was amazing would love to hear new audio drama same quality like ..
That eye looks like the OG Space Jockey's eye from the 90's comics.
We are getting an animated Predator antholgy TV series via Netflix due out nxt yr 😉😁👽💁♂️
if we never get a sequel to covenant, I hope this will be the closest to it. i liked those movies and their ideas, plus David as a great villain.
Hope they had the balls to just retcon Prometheus and Covenant out of the story and timeline entirely.
💯 And Alien 3! Hicks & Newt should have remained alive.
@@mytzlplk That is what the canceled Alien 5 was suppose to do. One of the Alien video games also did that, well it had it so Hicks was still alive. Alien 3 still happened. The body that was believed to be Hicks was someone else.
They won’t. Ridley Scott casts a long shadow. I hated how the engineers were the cause of life on earth. The universe got very small in those movies.
💯 agree.
If you retcon the prequels Romulus‘ entire second and third act wouldn’t exist. Sorry, it’s lore, you can’t just decide what to keep and not to keep.
Well technically this is more about the Yutani company on earth before they merged/joined forces with Peter Weylands company itself 💁♂️🤓🤔
Alien earth is going to be awesome.
I’m looking forward to it sort of? Maybe?
this is great news, I've always been a fan of the prequels, fingers crossed also I'm excited to see the future advancements on earth, I know it's highly unlikely but seeing the different synthetic models operating within the society etc.
Covenant actually happened in December of 2104.
I hope the weyland corp is a big villain that gets explored more on earth
Hopefully the aliens wont be CGI
Woman and a bunch of soldiers, sounds like a remake of Aliens. I'd love a film like Alien Earth Hive, set after A3 and before A4
the creatures eyes look like a goat
an animal with horns...imagine a xenomorph with horns in live action...
Cannot wait for this, love all the Alien movies (not AvP :D ) and excited for a more long-form story in the universe
Well it's about damn time.
I like daredevil but i am most excited for this
I was hoping this would be about the Earth War. Oh well.
Yes! Very much so looking forward to this series along with ANY new Alien content.
Just as long as it doesn't confirm David created the xenomorph, I'm down for this.
David needs to be retconned out. An android on overriding orders to recover a specimen I can track. A self aware android out to eradicate humanity because “daddy issues” I can’t.
So perhaps we will be getting the events of the earthwar seen in the footage from resurrection
Yeah him creating it was just dumb. It should be a species that has always been . But the again God wouldn't create such a vile creature
Not sure how you think David created the xenomorph. Prometheus literally shows a xenomorph on the mural where the black goo vases are.
Ripley lost her daughter and gave her life to prevent the alien getting to Earth. Oh no, no no no. They were there already.
Honestly, they should’ve just watched your series on the earth wars and filled in some more dialogue.
The voice over in the new teaser is David/Walter.
I do get excited as well about every new detail concerning anything Alien, but then I see the Disney stamp at the end…
Don't change anything but there's a xenomorph behind the man
As much as I'm looking forward to this, I'm a tad hesitant of it taking place just two years before Alien.
@@AxisChurchDevoteeI actaully like this timeline as wraps up the gaps just before the start of the 1st Alien film back in 79
This is just one more screw up of the timeline and franchise!
Salutation’s Belfast Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
Given the use of hypersleep and the length of the journey, wouldn't this mean that the crew of the Nostromo had already left when the events of A:E take place?
wait, the moviefone guy is back?? =b that deep voice trailer man
This is interesting but this could have been explored in Alien 5.
Did I not read somewhere that the director of this show says the Prequels have nothing to do with this series or has that been changed now? The fact the date now is 2120 means I think they have changed their mind and it might be linked to the prequels
I doubt they'll connect it to the prequels...though I seriously wish they did. David's story needs to be concluded.
So this show is what triggers the Cabal within The Company obsessed with this organism to form, leading to Ash being placed on the Nostromo? Awesome.
I'm down Alien fans are eating right now
I thought they already said that this series ignored Prometheus and Covenant?
Looking Forward to this Alien Series and have ya Heard Ridley Scott is working on a New Alien Movie and it’s Rumored to Be the Sequel of Prometheus and Convenant the soo much Talked About Alien Awakening.
Disney - They will milk something until only dust is left.
Nooo! Youre supposed to get excited for new slop, consume it, then get excited for next slop, repeat until youre dead.
I think that Alien Earth will go 1 maybe 3 seasons and then it gets canceled. Tthis always happens to fun action tv shows nowadays people just won't care that much no matter how good it is
