Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 жов 2024
- His Excellency Akbar Al Baker is stepping down as the CEO of Qatar Airways after assuming the position in 1997. Al Baker has become well known as one of the most vocal and opinionated CEOs in the business, never afraid to say what was on his mind.
The airline chief has had to weather some particularly tricky circumstances while at the helm of Qatar Airlines, from the blockade of Qatar to the COVID-19 pandemic and, most recently, a high court battle with Airbus over the A350. Let’s look at this major news for today’s video!

I think the dispute between Airbus and Qatar was settled and one of the conditions was Al Bakar leaving Qatar. He couldn’t stay after that
I think you might be right about that
Certainly looks that way. I wonder if the truth about the settlement will ever come out.
@@jobbiejewprobably remain undisclosed
And the Australian government refusing more flights into Australia.
That is strange and unbelievable 😮
The airlines won’t miss dealing with this guy!
No one will
Why
Rival airlines?
Duh...!
I agree %100 😁
Yippee ! I can hear the champagne corks popping in Toulouse.
Shush it down
You work there?
Why?
To not jinx it, "@@molol5710"?
I hope now the crew will be treated better - he was horrible to the staff
This is why I don't fly with Qatar Airways anymore even as a platinum member.
Stepped down or was thrown down
thrown out* There! FTFY
The paint still needs to be checked no matter what airline operates the Airbus A350. Prevention is better than cure.
Please elaborate.
I think dispute between Airbus & Qatar Airways put him in this situation.
I remember him talking smack about Delta airlines, pretty direct person who speaks his mind and wont lose any sleep over it
Everyone saying its to do with the Airbus spat it isnt, its been reported that he has health issues and is the reason he is steppjng down.
I met the new CEO many times, he is extremely respectful and down to earth.
Lmao
@@sammybaraka5362 Have you met him? I am interested to know, maybe I missed something about this CEO
That means he’s the opposite 😂
thank god. i hope that is true
don;t know the man but allways felt safer talking to person that spoke his mind - good or bad you know where you stand
Hopefully the new CEO keeps the A380s longer.
*SHEDDING RETROACTIVITY:* You got your wish!
Bruh is literally rubbing his mentor's nose.
Will the 777x still be delivered to qatar airways
yes it will
Best thing that happened to Qatar AirWays since it’s Launch
Why
@@LordBagdanoffthe crew is being tortured to keep standards and this is leading to the airlines decline. On skytrax which is one of the most biased airline rating websites Qatar airways was given 2nd place instead of first after many years so u can tell the airline is declining
If I'm Emirates simp( to say the least), that's exactly how I would put it - though, "@@SFAvgeek".
hopefully this is good news for the overworked cabin crew
Goodbye
It's kinda shocking I hope that new, ceo of Qatar Airways will say that A320 operate three more years.
a320 0r a380?
He did his schooling and College in at the sanctum sanctorum of business Centre within Mumbai India reflects in his business acumen.
Thajk goodness he is gone. He was the worst airline CEO ever.
It’s a shame. He has been the main driver of qatars rise to the top of the luxury air travel. Let’s hope his successor keeps Qatar airways high standards for travel and continues its industry leading ways…
Yeah, I always considered being brutally strip search luxury air travel !
No - it is finished
Yes finally, hopefully now Qatar qA380 and A330’s dont get retired.
Long overdue
I wonder if he's gonna work at Panda Express?
That was the best news I heard when letting him go because when he was the ECO most the ground attended and some cabin crew would be rude to the passenger no matter what! even though I traveled in business class and I believe there's more terrible service in economy, and even though I was a big fan of Qatar Airways and still have a love of Qatar Airways I don't fly with them anymore, also now they started to take 737!!! when I hate that plan and I don't know why!! since they have 777, 787, and 380, but I think the former CEO made a contract with that terrible aircraft, and hopefully they try to change the old business class designs, and now I always fly with Emirates Airlines and Thai Airways.
Why so sudden actually
Good riddance. 👋
Worked for QR, know him all too well.
End of Oppressor 🎉
Technocrat* There! FTFY
Will Josh Cahill get unbanned now
It looks like he was fired, reasons unknown.
Another Vermint put down.
His stubbornness is what kept Qatar on top, and better than emirates. Unsure about this airlines future now. I'll be so screwed if they leave oneoworld now lol, got so many avios saved up.
The Trump of the airlines
Mr Burns of The Simpsons
He looks like Mr Burns
He hate a380 and he hate Dubai.
Am I dreaming?
Big question is why
Strip searching women and highjacking?
I flew Qatar Airways Uk to NZ and would not choose to fly with them again. The level of service was average they were more focus put on image rather than the level of service, very pretentious.
Does that mean the A350s that were grounded are flying again?
They are all already flying only 6 are parked undergoing repaint
So many haters in the comments section. Why hating him?
Big loss for industry. Competitors must be happy..
Not at all.
let's just say this is not theee saddest news i've ever heard 😏
His last day is Guy Fawkes Night!
Hahaha, he could be launching some fireworks on the eve! 🗯️🎇🎆😆
Good bye Felicia 👋
Bout time
Sadly I've not been lucky enough to fly Qatar Airways
One day
Happy retirement :)
for the people who are wondering why he is resigning. Its because in the State Of Qatar the law is that if someone is over the age of 60 he is forced to resign
His has come. Not my favourite airline CEO. On the positive side Qatar does have the best business class in the world.
Not according to the women who were brutality strip searched.
You and I have different expectations clearly.
Yaaaaaaaaayyyyy!!! 🎉
Yes!! The Donald Trump of the aviation industry won't be missed. Goodbye!
One of the most amazing leaderships in the world. QR is going to miss him!
Really he treated the Crew Racially...talk to any south Asian Crew from Pakistan/Bangladesh/ Sri Lanka / India how they were treated
LMAO
no hes not. stop trying to spread missinformation.
@@arpanabinaswar1811 Yes that’s well known about Qatar in general.
@@arpanabinaswar1811 Then QUIT and GO FLY with PRIDE at AIR LANKA 🇱🇰, AIR INDIA 🇮🇳, PIA Pakistan 🇵🇰 International, and BIMAN Bangladesh 🇧🇩 ✈️ !
Legend!
Yep 380 was their 1st and biggest mistake but 350 not far behind in 2nd!
why the a350
yeah maybe the A350 quality dispute. Qatar should have at least gotten some other data on other OneWorld Alliance on quality of the A350 before going forward with their claims for compensation
He’s the Donald Trump of the airlines.
I think 💭 Qatar 🇶🇦 Airlines will miss his bold leadership.
I think he is stepping down because his airline is going down hill
Good riddance
😭😭😭
The best ceo
The hijacking attempt yesterday and now this. Wow.
And the brutal strip searching of the Australian women.
What hijacking’s attempt? Can you clarify?
Person who copied Emirates
Legend.
Sad but he was kinda old anyway
Never heard of him
No one cares
He will be missed for sure
Nope.
Asalamu alikkum baba . baba good peepil. 🫀zain ramadam gift 500 riyal alhamdulillah allah
Good riddance
