This is so inspiring it really makes me want to find an everyday thing and go ham with inspiration and ideas. I’m sure you’ve seen russian eggs but if not I bet you’d love it.
ironically, i feel like this worldbuilding would also make for an incredible sort of dungeon crawler game where the egg nest's labyrinth changes every time you run through it. just seeing the big doors immediately reminded me of hades (complimentary!! its just so visually interesting!!) and knowing that the layout would be intentionally confusing to deter intruders its an interesting idea that it could also possibly Change in layout as well, hence the dungeon crawler thought anyway, this looks incredibly cool, your brain is Cooking
I think the locks and keys could be eggshells cracked in half, with unique patterns in the crack. If there are minibosses you could assign each one to a different room/area and have them hold one of the halves or maybe make a puzzle or treasure hunt to find an eggshell half
Perhaps the final boss could be like, a bird embryo. He surrounds himself with valuable treasures because he feeds on their energy, like an egg yolk. (Assuming magic is a thing in this world, and magical items are kept here)
Were one of the coins a Crow Time reference? They're all so cute! Also, how about instead of an Octopus you do the African Jacana Bird? Keeps the bird theme and though it isn't real multiple limbs, you can obviously do whatever you want with the visual.
