This is great, since your main character is based off a secretary bird, it would be cool to see what you did with an antagonistic character that had snake characteristics. Especially since reptiles also lay eggs. :D

i want to make my characters dress like a real person would wear but they live in a fantasy world. It's like a mix of fantasy and reality. Even so i think what makes a character interesting is based on their personality and backstory but yeah people will still judge a character by their appearance first 😔
I think a good balance between design and story is making their appearance tell something about them as a character or their backstory, like someone who always has a coffe cup in their hands may be a chronic overworker, if they tend to have neat hair they would be someone who cares a lot about looking presentable, etc.
