    Hi everyone, I just wanted to give a huge thank you for the amazing support and great comments on yesterday's Rogue One review. My brother and I both appreciate it very much. I am still on a pretty big high from the movie, so I think it's fair to say that there will be some Rogue One related videos starting tomorrow. Thank you again and I hope you enjoy the video!

      Star Wars Reading Club I really liked Rogue one, i feel like it made me believe in the new movies after the massive disappointment that The force awakens left within me.

      Jesper Kristensen I liked the force awakened, but I understand why it came out to a lot as a disappointment, and I'm glad rogue one really brought that great atmosphere that hasn't been felt since empire strikes backs

      john Calderon: I think that The force awakens is over all pretty okay, i just don't think that it's a good Star Wars movie.
      I think it's because they try to project that it's a sequel ( which it technically is) but there are just too many simularities to A new hope for me to call it a full on sequel. But Rogue one definately gave me a hope that Episode VIII could be something great if not amazing.

    Does anyone else think it's funny that the Clone Wars devastated the countless worlds, but the GAR was only about 10 million strong and the war only lasted about three years? Just odd to me. Either I can't grasp galactic warfare or Sidious just liked watching it all burn.

      IgnemFeram01 I always took the "200,000 units with a million more on the way" statement by the kaminoans as being 1 unit= 1 battalion (666 clones). That seems a bit more reasonable to wage a galactic war to me.

    • @MrImperatorRoma
      @MrImperatorRoma 7 років тому +5

      I have a harder time grasping that the GAR measured at only 10 million strong. The Empire at it's height supposedly comprised about 60 million inhabited worlds. Separatist resources would also make production of millions of battledroids a very simple task, so one would expect the Republic to ramp up it's own ranks to counter.

    I didn't know about the Battle of Atraken, but wasn't the Battle of Jabiim more devastating? Thousands upon thousands of clone troopers died, dozens of padawans were killed, Obi-Wan was captured, chemical weapons were unleashed, the planet became a desolate mudball, and the native population felt betrayed by the republic and joined the CIS. It was also one of the very first operations by the GAR, and was a massive blow to their manpower and morale.

    Is there a reason why most planets in star wars have such low population numbers?

    • @JeanLucCaptain
      @JeanLucCaptain 7 років тому +8

      its like how most people live in cities instead of villages out in the country.

    • @DEMONX62

      Because the writers are bad at figuring out numbers. 1million for a planet is hilariously low
      Beijing alone has a population of 11.1million people. More planets should = more population, not less.

      Most planets in the outer rim were considered colonies, so a large colony would have over a million people.
      Where as if you looked at a core world like coruscant, or Byss, or any others, they numbered near the trillions upon trillions.
      And then you have the rim worlds like Alderaan where it was more like Earth with about 5 billion.
      It all depends on what part of the galaxy you are in.
      However I will agree that some numbers seem way too low, but in some cases they're about right.
      I mean the empire had 25000 star destroyers, and each had 30000 people on them just as crew. and that's just the star destroyers, the Death Star 1 have like 1-2 million people on it! So we know the empire have close to at least a trillion soldiers, if not about another 6 or 7 trillion.
      In general, numbers are weird in star wars.

    Makes you wonder if Sidious knew how to use Battle Meditation, or if that knowledge was lost in the days the Old Republic. Then again, I guess he really didn't need to know how to use it since he controlled both sides of the war.

    If droids are computers cranked up to the hardest cheat difficulty and bread for war, wouldn't their aim be almost perfect making them the deadliest shots of the any army? Shooting is alot of math in real life, something computers dominate. I would Imagine if Star Wars was semi realistic, you would never be able to go toe to toe with a droid army, rather urban, on open fields in frontal assaults, Their Anti Air defense should have a 95% hit ratio, their fighters should be scary deadly, each droid infantry would have processed aim, target trajectory, factors, and fired a perfect shot in miliseconds. I am confused as to why they act the way they do in the movies, from the child like incompetence, to piss poor aim. It doesnt make sense. Those were the Star Wars movies you got see in theaters when I was growing up.
    Now as an adult, All this lore is fascinating to me, because I never took the movies serious with how huge of a joke it wanted to be. All this added lore almost grounds star wars in a realistic manner, and the clone war movies need to be remade, and their existing ones burned, Then make 3 more movies in the clone wars era..rated R, gritty, gory, dark, I want a saving private ryan combat scene shots movie, but star wars.
    I think the end of Rogue one with Vader, hearing him breathe in the dark, and come out like that...that! THAT! Was what we needed. Just give us one series of movies made for adults. Where I dont have to look at bumbling droids and comic relief because something PG rated bad happened.

    • @WillowProductions
      @WillowProductions 6 років тому

      Droid starfighters were formidable, and capable of speed and manuvers that would kill human pilots.
      As far as their ground troops and the "Deadly aim of a machine", remember, good AI is mad expensive. but when they were made, they were deadly. such as the IG-Magna guards, and Commando droids.
      B1 battledroids are so terrible, because they are also dirt cheap. and are produced in the quadrillions.

    Something tells me that this is just poorly written lore. A good estimate of the Republic's fighting power during the Battle of Atraken is 60,000 (the Star Wars Wookipedia mentions they had only one infantry division and a few spacecraft). After 11 months of fighting, especially one that devastates a planet's population as this did, both sides would be completely eliminated, with most of the Republic space crews and Clone Troopers dying from starvation.
