As much as I love TCW (and I mean *LOVE*) I wish we got stuff like this that makes Grievous look like a much better general than depicted. I mean by the end of the show, they depicted Admiral Trench as being better by having more knowledge about clones.
Disney *NEEDS* to bring back Grievous' Legends backstory, his "official" past is utter horsehit now, and betrays the awesome and tragic character he used to be.
Alex for whatever reason, they wanted him to be a character that wasn't capable of being sympathized with. They wanted him to just be a murderer which isn't even interesting. They also need to make him a bad ass like he was in the original Clone Wars instead of the pussy he was in The Clone Wars
Gettysburg is way north of Washington; the point of Gettysburg wasn't to take Washington but break the spirit if the north. Washington was a fortress and there wasn't an aim to take it at the time.
The question is however, if a Rebellion like we know even would've formed in such a timeline. If we take the Sith out of the equation, the government the CIS would've installed wouldn't even have been so bad I think.
Smasherfan88 well at least in part it would, but the republic was so far past corrupt it wasn't even funny, wouldn't have been surprised if senators got bribes while in the Senate hearing chamber.
Oscar The Supreme that might be too Karbin though. I'm speaking strictly Grievous. However, a glimpse at some schematics for a second or two in a covert Imperial base of his body would be intriguing. That would also continue to further bridge the mediums of tv and comic.
Let me say how much I appreciate all the info you give out and I love the way your videos are done. One thing I'm confused about and maybe you were touching on this at the end, but since Palpatine/Sidious was controlling both sides of the war isn't true there is no way the separatists could ever win? Sidious was just using the war to get his power increased in the senate, as well as approval of the army he needed for his reign, and promising that there would now be "peace". He was never going to let the Separatists win. They were just a pawn in his bid to rule.
The Separatists were so over-focused on causing terror that they forgot why they were doing it. At any point maybe after the early stages of Dirge's Lance they could have just said to the Republic "This could all be over if you just let us secede." And by then there would probably be a lot of support for it. The Confederate States IRL whom the CIS are designed after had much the same goal in mind the few times they marched into the North-- they just wanted to shock the US into letting them sovereignty. Whereas they both failed because inferior logistical capacity however, the CIS lost because they were just so darn blood thirsty and revenge driven. Seems to me they had it in their hands and just let it slip through.
Both sides were bloodthirsty as hell, seeing as they were led by Sidious. Even if they wanted, they couldn't have just ended the war like that. Neither Dooku nor Sidious would let that happen.
Actually, the CSA lost because they were too timid. The Southern strategy was never to cause chaos nor to shock the US, it was to defend the South long enough to be recognized by a foreign power or exhaust the US. They were well aware that going up North would be a costly decision so that is why they rarely invaded, Gettysburg was actually an accident when the South sought supplies up North and ended up confronting the US. The CSA actually could have won the war early on had they pressed on Washington shortly after Bull Run, at the time it was lightly defended and it was even suggested, but the idea of a defensive war and the belief that other powers might interpret the CSA as a coup or an invader shot down the plan. The CIS here is much different, they are less homogeneous and are an actual confederation with individual members only held by a powerful military, they put quantity and productivity ahead of quality and efficiency, they didn't have much tactics outside of a few leaders and their droids only worked so long as they could produce more. Not to mention they were funded by corrupt politicians and warlords, a corporate confederation might not have been a good idea for a government in a civil war. Of course the droids cause mayhem and nobody is held accountable, but that's based less on morals and more of what kind of war it is. Civil wars are some of the most brutal types of conflicts possible and when both sides needs clones and machines to throw at each other? It's definitely going to be a bloodbath.
Can I just say those Providence-class carriers are sexy as anything? Well, I guess only the Imperial-class Star Destroyers are better-looking. Anyways, how about talking about the Dark Reaper next? It was an ancient Sith superweapon built on the planet Thule (see the reference?) and its core, the Force Harvester, was unearthed by Dooku on Raxus Prime. It caused a few months of serious havoc to the Republic. Please take this suggestion. If not for me... for the Raxus Prime junk droids!
oh... i hated the Protodekas so much, i had to cheat code those levels on my old Gamecube, "1withforce" and "chosenone" unlimited health and missiles, that was the only way i could do it..
Oh how the Hutts have fallen, just looking at Hutt space compared to the political map at the time of the Empire Star Wars Reading Club, could you do a video on how and why the Hutt Space was decreased to where it is by the original trilogy, and why some planets, such as Tatooine, are (sorta) considered Hutt controlled but are no longer in Hutt space and instead in Imperial Space?
Could you do a video(s) on the final Clone Wars campaigns that were conducted by Darth Vader, what were the remaining separatist forces like, and what became of the various neutral and/or independent systems after the rise of the empire (e.g. Toydaria, Chiss Ascendancy, Hutt Space, Corperate Sector Authority, etc) and why some remained independent, like the Hutts, the CSA, and the Chiss?
I like that they gave a nod to the 2003 micro-series, naming the operation 'Durge's Lance' when he led the Lancer Combat droids on speeder bikes during the battle of Muunilist.
If you mean by countries individual planetary governments? Yes there were ones that were not part of the Republic or Separatist. Some would eventually ally with either side or join them altogether or just stay neutral.
In the 2003 cartoon, the Republic pushing back was part of the plan as per after Grievous dueling practice with Dooku Sidious asked what news was from the front of which the General replied "The stratagem is working perfectly, my lord. The Republic is spread thin across the Outer Rim desperate to contain our new offensive (Operation Durge's Lance)" making him even more of a military genius. Too bad Grievous isn't as much of a genius or threat in the 3D clone wars as he was in the 2D cartoon.
i just wondered something and if someone can answer i know grievous doesnt like to be called a droid but how come says to R2 theres nothing to fear were all droids here
So what was the Seperatist fleet doing above the capital at the start of Episode 3, if they'd been driven back to the Outer Rim? Was it some kind of last-ditch sneak attack?
Lol, that episode with the giant EMP WMD was hilarious. -As if- that was somehow a -bad- weapon to use... it's machines. Droids aren't people... why did they all act so concerned?
He didn't need to, the republic was overwhelmed and was way too spread out under jedi command. Grievous simply sneaked on a decent spot and smashed with force through. It didn't help that at Foerest an entire bulwark fleet broke out and caused at another spot way too close to coruscant forcing the republic too take victory class star destroyer 6 months earlier to service to stop the bleeding there
do a video if dooku went Rouge against palpatine after learning all he thought he knew, put his combine wealth with the seps and won... what would the galaxy look like
im simply fashinated by how two sith lords sidious and tyranus were able to orchestrate entire calactic scale war over 3 years so they can get more influence in galaxy.
The pro for disney taking over starwars is new movies and merchandise but shows like rebels its become childish in a way there is violence but non as much as the clone wars and i loved it from a kid to now. Watching fives getting a blasted to the chest by his brother was so sad but the emotions from that "violent" scene was way too good
Link me a video if you already done this. But do you think palpatine gave anakin his visions of padme dying? Because if he had not seen them, it would be very unlikely that he would've destroyed the jedi order and became a sith as he did.
Something that had always bugged me when watching clone wars. How did the CIS not know of the hyperspace routes into the core worlds? Seriously, went these worlds part of the republic, and playing nice-nice, just until Geonosis? Didn't anyone think of copying a few maps or two, maybe some other important bits of intel? The Banking Clan and Trade Federation HAD to know these routes, as they have members going around the galaxy on business. Didn't one smuggler defect with a star chart? Didn't Hando have a couple? I'd be as if the Jedi forgot what lane to take to go from the temple to the Senate. Call a cab, robe boy.
how come the clone wars only took two years of fighting when it feels like 10years of combat. with both sides advancing with military tech would take time to research and build, troop production, logistics , and the fighting it self it's kinda hard to believe it took two years.
It is a galactic war many battles on multiple fronts and the battle lines were only easy at war end before that sep world's were at the outer rim, mid rim and even the core.
Sort of sounds like the American Civil War, at the start the confederacy had the union on the ropes till they mobilized and brought their industry to bear.
Republic: For the Republic!
Empire: For the Empire!
Rebels: For the Rebellion!
CIS: Roger Roger!
FOR THE SEPARATIST ALLIANCE!
ROGER ROGER
*inhales* FOR THE SEPARATIST ALLIANCEEEEEEEEEE
As much as I love TCW (and I mean *LOVE*) I wish we got stuff like this that makes Grievous look like a much better general than depicted. I mean by the end of the show, they depicted Admiral Trench as being better by having more knowledge about clones.

Alex this!
Alex Totally agree with you
Alex for whatever reason, they wanted him to be a character that wasn't capable of being sympathized with. They wanted him to just be a murderer which isn't even interesting. They also need to make him a bad ass like he was in the original Clone Wars instead of the pussy he was in The Clone Wars
JITCY9107 I know that's right he was a garbage character in that show
I only know about his legends story, what is his new "official" back story
Basically how Lee almost got to Washington but failed at Gettysburg
+Joey Angotti Yeah, but Lee wasnt a Jedi killing cyborg if I remember that right^^
Bananenmüsli x no?
i think i need to revisit history lessons
Bananenmüsli x and you need to visit sarcasm class
Gettysburg is way north of Washington; the point of Gettysburg wasn't to take Washington but break the spirit if the north. Washington was a fortress and there wasn't an aim to take it at the time.
also, it would have caught European attention (though unless they steam rolled Union forces, I doubt they would have cared that much...)
Imagine an alternate story line where the CIS won the clone wars and then the CIS had to fight The Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Interesting idea that. We know Palpatine never planned for the Seppies to win, but Grevious didn't know that.
The question is however, if a Rebellion like we know even would've formed in such a timeline. If we take the Sith out of the equation, the government the CIS would've installed wouldn't even have been so bad I think.
TheDragonoftheWest it'd be based off of economy and destroying any real politics
Smasherfan88 well at least in part it would, but the republic was so far past corrupt it wasn't even funny, wouldn't have been surprised if senators got bribes while in the Senate hearing chamber.
This is assuming CIS would take over the Republic, instead of forcing a two state system (which was their stated war goal).
I hate how the newer clone wars series made him a wimpy coward. he was so cool in the original series.
A shame this is legends, Grievous is my favorite non-force user character
well maybe he can use the force it is unknown
Same. Love him.
Lucas Ivanov same
I love the "if not for me..." part.
I hope they have a Rebels episode involving Griveous' Legacy somehow.
TytheBandit Thrawn should have his mask in his art gallery, how cool would that be as an Easter egg!
Very good,appreciate it, thank you.:-D
Grevious, the prototype Darth Vader ?
TR-8R or one of the statues of him as a Kaleesh art piece yes!
Oscar The Supreme that might be too Karbin though. I'm speaking strictly Grievous. However, a glimpse at some schematics for a second or two in a covert Imperial base of his body would be intriguing. That would also continue to further bridge the mediums of tv and comic.
operation barbarossa in space
Flathead Gg244 lol
I thought the same thing
Flathead Gg244 lol give him hitler mustache and it’ll look accurate
Lmao!
I still think the General is a beast but The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith made him look weak!
2003 clone wars is best grievous
preciouspack40K yes it was you're right
But ROTS had a good reason and explination as to why He was weaker.
Nearly every character was a complete over the top badass in that show.
Alexpander They had reason to be.
'Operation: Durge's Lance'
Probably the closest Durge will get to being canon again..
Let me say how much I appreciate all the info you give out and I love the way your videos are done. You should do a video on the Jedi exile and wounds in the force
Can I just say those Providence-class carriers are sexy as anything? Well, I guess only the Imperial-class Star Destroyers are better-looking. Anyways, how about talking about the Dark Reaper next? If not for me... for the Raxus Prime junk droids!
Oh man i still own that video game ah good times on the old Gamecube.
I also still have it. I have it for the original Xbox, though. Good times.
no, the raxus prime junk droooooooooids
Just be sure to leave those fuckers called Protodekas out of it.
oh... i hated the Protodekas so much, i had to cheat code those levels on my old Gamecube, "1withforce" and "chosenone" unlimited health and missiles, that was the only way i could do it..
you deserve more subs man ;) :) keep up the good work !
Kennedy Robot for sure, he's one of the best.
General Grievous was an excellent strategist and warrior.
Oh how the Hutts have fallen, just looking at Hutt space compared to the political map at the time of the Empire
Star Wars Reading Club, could you do a video on how and why the Hutt Space was decreased to where it is by the original trilogy, and why some planets, such as Tatooine, are (sorta) considered Hutt controlled but are no longer in Hutt space and instead in Imperial Space?
321gman The Hutts controlled the outer rim's economy so the Empire didnt really control the rim worlds
321gman
The hutts keeo finding themselves caught in wars against the republic or their enemies. A few worlds they economically control.
321gman Toydaria was taken over by the empire and im not sure about the rest of those systems
albeit, when you look at a map, Toydaria is in Hutt space, and was nowhere near Ryloth, unless they have changed the map
321gman The empire mostly had to leave the hutts alone for fear of destroying the economy of the outer rim.
I like that they gave a nod to the 2003 micro-series, naming the operation 'Durge's Lance' when he led the Lancer Combat droids on speeder bikes during the battle of Muunilist.
loved these last few videos man they were awesome ...keep it up man I look forward to your next one
for the cis
FOR THE REPUBLIC
mandalore the preserver for the hutt clan!!
CIS skum!
FOR THE REPLUBIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR THE CIS
Command post is now under Confederacy control
I know that's a weird question but there are countries in the Star wars universe?
K.G.B RazZor No. Just planets and stars systems.
If you mean by countries individual planetary governments? Yes there were ones that were not part of the Republic or Separatist. Some would eventually ally with either side or join them altogether or just stay neutral.
K.G.B RazZor Well it is confirmed that there are continents on planets, so there are most likely also countries too.
Well, the queen of Naboo technically did not rule over the gungans, so you could say that they were different countries/kingdoms.
There are factions, independant systems, Dominions and Corporations.
i love the outros in all of your videos
A comment for you and Durge's Lance. ;)
Love your videos. Makes me love Grievous even more. :D
great video as always keep up the great work anf videos.
Nice video! I had no idea what that thing was until now
great video and interesting topic as always, keep it up!
Yay for grievous
In the 2003 cartoon, the Republic pushing back was part of the plan as per after Grievous dueling practice with Dooku Sidious asked what news was from the front of which the General replied "The stratagem is working perfectly, my lord. Too bad Grievous isn't as much of a genius or threat in the 3D clone wars as he was in the 2D cartoon.
bruh I luv ur line, "in this video exposé"
i just wondered something and if someone can answer
i know grievous doesnt like to be called a droid but how come says to R2 theres nothing to fear were all droids here
It was just his attempt at sarcastic humor to both scare R2 and get a laugh.
oh thank you for answering my question
Alexander Bilstien the creaters of that show probably said fuck grievous
very good😀👍
Thank you Anakin, I greatly appreciate the support and hope you enjoy the upcoming videos as well.
Star Wars Reading Club Do you know why I CAN'T watch ANYBODY'S videos
+Star Destroyer youtube done broke
American Policies Did it happen to you too
S A N D
but I life you're videos. so keep up the good work. I was just my OCD acting up and bothering me about the" expose" thing.
Now I want to see a war between Grievous and Thrawn. Would be fun to watch.
So what was the Seperatist fleet doing above the capital at the start of Episode 3, if they'd been driven back to the Outer Rim? Was it some kind of last-ditch sneak attack?
Durge's Lance from the 2002 clone wars! I was waiting for that reference.
Grievous got cheeky
What are those ships at 3:20? They look like precursors to the Y-Wings.
I'm pretty sure they *are* Y-Wings.
Would you do what if Grievous had six arms?
Hyperlanes were scouted for thousands of years, especially in the core. How is it possible that there were so many of them unknown to the Seperatists?
Why does Obi Wan wear clone trooper armor???
Old glory good question
Clone Wars Jedi wore clone armour as a way to show unity with their troops.
Could you do an episode on what planetary rotations are and how long they last?
The clone wars series did grievous little justice and never showed fully why he was such a dangerous Commander.
Lol, that episode with the giant EMP WMD was hilarious. -As if- that was somehow a -bad- weapon to use... it's machines. Droids aren't people... why did they all act so concerned?
Grievous was my favorite Star Wars villain
I wish Durge would be re-canonized.
Keep Making Good Videos!
Did Palpatien had something to do with the halt of the CIS attack? Just to prolong the war and continue with his plans ?
He didn't need to, the republic was overwhelmed and was way too spread out under jedi command. Grievous simply sneaked on a decent spot and smashed with force through. It didn't help that at Foerest an entire bulwark fleet broke out and caused at another spot way too close to coruscant forcing the republic too take victory class star destroyer 6 months earlier to service to stop the bleeding there
do a video if dooku went Rouge against palpatine after learning all he thought he knew, put his combine wealth with the seps and won... what would the galaxy look like
What happened to the nexus routes? Who did Ashoka/Tarkin give the info to.
im simply fashinated by how two sith lords sidious and tyranus were able to orchestrate entire calactic scale war over 3 years so they can get more influence in galaxy.
Did the ppl know palpitine was behind the clone wars after it ended? Or was it classified information? This my 501st petition
Berry O
The only people that knew are likely dead. However many in the rebellion grew to think it might have been the case.
RIP
The hombre Durge
What is the best Star Wars novel? I want to read one but I have no idea which one
CIS would've won the war if not for Palpatine plans
The pro for disney taking over starwars is new movies and merchandise but shows like rebels its become childish in a way there is violence but non as much as the clone wars and i loved it from a kid to now. Watching fives getting a blasted to the chest by his brother was so sad but the emotions from that "violent" scene was way too good
what is the name of the galaxy that star wars takes place in?
Tom Hopkins
Bindu way (legends), The Galaxy (canon)
I like to know who General Grievous is before he was a cyborg and how he became a cyborg
the videos aren't actually exposes. an expose infers thst the information being exposed is discreditable or bad in some way
Is this Canon or legends?
That operation's name made me think of something:
What if the Clone Army was made from Durge instead of Jango Fett?
Grievous is Amazing
darth cough cough General Cough cough*
Delay Rowdee everything sounds better with darth
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. And quite possibly nuclear weapons.
I watch this channel more than the other Star Wars lore channels solely for the witty interjections! lol
Its hard to inmagine for not hardcore fans that the CIS wasnt designed to win the war iff palpatine turners around his plans the CIS could eassly won
Link me a video if you already done this. But do you think palpatine gave anakin his visions of padme dying? Because if he had not seen them, it would be very unlikely that he would've destroyed the jedi order and became a sith as he did.
do you record your audio with the camera mic?
Call a cab, robe boy.
is durge the bounty hunter still canon???
I gotta say general grievous' offensive is the star wars version of battle of the buldge
So it's operation Barbarossa but in Space...
this is why grievous was the scourge of the clone wars
Does anyone know what race Grievous was before he was put in a mechanical body ?
Kaleesh
Thanks
Dromund Kaas during the Clone Wars?
Durge is so underrated
This should've been in The Clone Wars series.
I don't think it was the height of the war. It still did lots of damage to the 104 battalion
How many Jedi did Grivevous kill in the clone wars tv series?
Audiences only saw him directly kill one Jedi but he has trophies of an untold number of others that were killed off screen.
KON- EL who did he kill?
The one Jedi that was shown being killed was Nahdar Vebb a mon calmari who had recently become a Jedi Knight and was the former padawan to Kit Fisto.
the numbers differ because it isn't sure which kills are considered canon and which are legends. I think the highest number is 71.
People like you, should get together with the other Star Wars lovers/informators and produce a film together on something like this.
If you replaced Grievous with Lee and the Republic with the union then this video is basically about the civil war
Mlen. I don't have anything else to say so Mlen
I have never heard a star wars fan praise disney... why are they not taking a hint..
Is this legends or cannon?
He almost won because he's General grievous.
i thought dooku's ship was the invisible hand
+ya boi nope it was grievous flagship, but dooku was aboard it
how come the clone wars only took two years of fighting when it feels like 10years of combat. with both sides advancing with military tech would take time to research and build, troop production, logistics , and the fighting it self it's kinda hard to believe it took two years.
It took three years.
It is a galactic war many battles on multiple fronts and the battle lines were only easy at war end before that sep world's were at the outer rim, mid rim and even the core.
"Superior industrial ability?" Republic? Are we talking about the clone wars here?
Why did the separatists want clone DNA when they attacked the kamino?
i was just awed by the clones
Your channel is bae
Lol the first 1:20 seconds was like completely restated points
who would support the CIS in the clone wars
Separatist couldn't won Darth Sidious won't never let them
Sort of sounds like the American Civil War, at the start the confederacy had the union on the ropes till they mobilized and brought their industry to bear.
I'm leaving a like for durges lance.
My boi Durge be trippin
I prefer the Malevolence than the Invisible Hand
Who is the blue guy with red eyes that he is obsessed with showing
that channel Grand Admiral Thrawn
