Peter Yorke's own compositions are so much more interesting than his rather bland arrangements of popular standards.I am thinking of selections such as "Spring Cruise," "Blue Mink," "Miss in Mink," "Whipper Snapper," "Brandy Snaps," "Emeralds and Ermine," "Baronial Hall," "Humpty Dumpty," "Ascot Enclosure," "Family Outing," "Holiday Outing." Try them out; you will like them; I guarantee it!

Yes, I remember some of those titles. Unfortunately, I have very little of Peter Yorke's music - but he definitely led one of my favourite orchestras, along with those of some of his contemporaries - such as Paul Fenoulhet. Best wishes - Pete

I was thinking very specifically about his own original compositions, not all of which were recorded by himself, but rather with another orchestra and conductor.Until I got my computer and consequently access to UA-cam, I too was familiar with only a very small portion of his original work. For me nowadays, Peter Yorke along with Felton Rapley were the two most outstanding names regarding light musical selections, at least in the UK. Here in the USA, I harbor other favorites.
