우진 it’s interesting because the one guy said when he was young, he liked skinny girls and when he got older, he like fuller figures. I think that’s biologically more natural desire. Most grown men become attracted to more womanly figures. In Korea women may tend to not have so much difference in bodies of girls to women as Koreans tend to be more slight of figure (slender). Funny how their favorite body type is according to the body type they have.... I don't think I have seen that anywhere else in the world lol. Men don't usually limit themselves to what they would look good next to.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Some guys expect too much from girls, some expect them to look perfect or like models so it's good that they don't set their limits too high.
I think a lot of us actually do it more or less unconsciously (i'm not talking about real dates, just when it comes to ideal type we have in mind). Because i feel like the societal pattern we've heard of since forever of the couple with "the woman that has to be smaller than the man" is usually quite ingrained our mind, sadly...
Actually, I see this all the time, but specifically in reference to the height of a potential partner - i.e. "I won't date a woman taller than me," or "I won't date a man shorter than me." Consideration of overall body type being a good match definitely less the norm though. LOL - as if worrying about brains, personality, and general looks weren't enough, you also have to consider whether your body types are a good match? Geez, that must be exhausting!
If I'm not mistaken, it's scientifically proven that we subconsciously go for people that look like us (physically) when we choose our partners, that's why a lot of couples look so much alike, but that science doesn't work on me lol I always go for people who are really attractive, look nothing like me, wouldn't look my way and I'm ugly as hell😂 unrequited attraction gang😭
lol.. well, I am a woman, curvy, like maybe number 4 on this video (thickness)... and I have to say, I am kind of putt of by skinny boys. Idk, I like a man to have some shape too. I dated a skinny guy before, but honestly, like how I always say it in a joking way 'I feel like I'd crush him in bed, afraid I'd break him' but then again, he had really really skinny legs XD So in guys, i'd rather have a normal body type too, I'm good with muscular, but a little belly is ok with me too. Honestly I'm not that picky, but I am just put off by very skinny body types XD
I really appreciate the guy in the black blazer and white shirt, i keep forgetting his name but when i see him in these videos, it gives me more faith in humanity , and men 😂
Last guy: I choose no. 1 Interviewer: do you by chance have a girlfriend? Last guy: yes Interviewer: Ok, I will go no further Last guy: it's because my girlfriend has a similar body type to no. 1 Interviewer: by chance, would you have an ideal body type that is not no. 1? Last guy: no comment.
The last guy was really smart. He wasn’t going to deviate his ideal body type from the one that matched his girlfriend’s and chose number one and wouldn’t offer any further comment. Smart guy.
@@jasminex6421 having no curves doesn't make you healthier, it's called being underweight which ISNT healthy, or just having a different body type, doesn't make you healthier. Not all Koreans like skinny and no curves, it's kind of a myth that most of them don't like curves.
@@ee8546 I agree. Koreans in general are getting bigger these days. Bigger through gaining weight and muscle from gym training. I have a few Korean buddies in Seoul who are really into fitness and they said these days, everyone wants to be more muscular or Curvy.
I stayed in both korean and Japan for 6 months each and what i noticed is that yes, for Japanese or Korean women they prefer them slim because well...thats usually what you're going to get anyways. Even when they have a bit more weight on them, it tends to not go to the "right places" so to speak. But with foreigners they be going wild with their body type preferences 😂😂😂😂
One of the reasons the guys was not really attracted to No.1 was because that's the typical look of most Asian women, flat chested, no tone to their arms and legs nothing too exciting body wise...alot of Asian men love breasts or breast men (voluptuous bodies and curves) but not interested in overly hippy or big-boned. That's why they was more attracted to No.2 and No.4.
@@missjungjeelee Not really. Korean are petite and stlim. But I think somewhere around their minds the height scares them. If she was shorter they will like ducky.
Good to know, that skinny legs are not so popular 😊🙏 I was expected it's a must in Korea. So i apreciate that also number 4 was choosen, and guy who choose it is very cute also. 😊
I laughed when they show the second model and the first guy instantly goes "AHA!" And you can see his eye twinkled and the way he talks about the lady is awww
I'm getting the feel that it's not that they aren't attracted, but that they're intimidated by how society will view them. Well, that's an interesting take that I don't really think too much on. Hmm. I mean it wouldn't affect me either way because I'm not Korean nor do I interact with Koreans outside of social media networks.
Society always going to play the role. My friend who is black got married to a white she always get pick on by other black people. But my other black friend who got married to a filipina he doesnt get pick ok on. We human are so weird.
And those body shapes that aren't the norm are just intimidating not just because of social pressures but because they don't how to handle all of that extra "treasure" your carrying they have never experienced it and it's alot to take in... Like eating a whole cake with extra frosting 😍🤷🏽♀️
@@foodlover2830 I think its because black people still have a wall when it comes to relationships between white and black people because of slavery. People don't mock the other for a Filipino because 1. They tend to be more tan and exotic, and 2. There's no animosity between blacks and Filipinos. Honestly, though, if they were east Asian, they probably wouldn't be treated the same.

This is very true. Also, people change the way they look after getting into a relationship and their partners stick around. I mean my dad always said if he ages and gets a pot belly so why can't his wife change too. She's not going to look like the young woman he met and he is not going to look the same either. However, how they are as a person is important.

I wasn't sure whether to cringe or laugh. They put a lot of effort into their videos and this one - although similar to previous videos - can easily come off wrong.
Things like this should stop. Just because we close our eyes to robbery or rape does not mean it's not bad or happenimg. The mere existence of such videos is a problem and some people would unknownly be watching channels like this to judge their body type, without having self confidence in themselves. No matter what, body ties should not be rated, it's not a function of a person's choice, it's one's nature and gene. No matter what body type a guy likes, he should keep it to himself and find his ideal type, not add to the already body shaming and insecurities ladies face. It's not a function of what they do, even tho it might have innocent motive, the impact of it can be negative because of the kind of world and society we live in. Ordinary I'm not bothered by these kind of videos, the pictures aren't even representative of the numerous body type of ordinary women on the streets. But most insecure and younger girls would feel threatened hence my concern.
@@lulu7304 This video only displayed a handful of Korean men to begin with so all of us insecure women, including myself, aren't too bothered by this. In fact I think we appreciate the men's honesty, considering as you said, we live in a world and society where we must look a certain way. Also this person's comment probably didn't even have the intention of calling out insecured men and women. Often times in Korean Studio's video, these same handful of men always receive complaints or criticism for voicing their opinions. All of us are entitled to one, and we're certainly allowed to speak about our ideal type; so why can't they? I think you may have misinterpreted this comment and took it out of proportion by mentioning things such as rape and robberies. We weren't talking about insecured people, we were talking about 'keyboard warriors' having a go at these men for respectfully stating their personal taste. And I can assure you the 'insecure teens' you spoke of aren't going to change their body for any of these men. Because we are already at an age where we do love ourselves and we don't need to cater to these men's tastes.

Sorry to break it to both of you but this is not something to be happy about. It’s because we think most black people are curvy so them saying that means they are surprised you are not
The opinions of these Korean guys almost scare me, not in a bad way tho definitely a good way. I truly appreciate their opinions this video was cool to view. However I love the fact a lot of Korean guys focused more on the women facial beauty of Black women and not make any real critical stereotype of them, nice video.
Wow, these comments. It seems this channel can't win, either people think they're fetishizing black women, or they don't include them enough. So which is it? Should they stay within korean beauty standards? They have a right to branch off for the "Normal" route.
I think it's they fact that they have done this for so many videos in a row and the fact that they used a single race to represent "all" body type vs. multiple races.
@@Krystal109 I'm 85% sure there was a mistranslation in the title, the wording is off. I don't think they were trying to represent "all" body types with just one race. It was just the way they worded it that makes it seem like that.
@@gremal2135 You definitely can't represent all types with 4 anyways, so you're right. I more meant that as sarcasm anyways, which is why I put it in quotes. It still would have been nice to see a bit more diversity in race and types... they were all fairly fit, even the extremely curvy woman.
@@Krystal109 There's no way you can win with people on the internet. Lets say they made it ur way and it was diverse. I’m the first body type and everyone is saying I can be a model cuz I’m so long but nobody wants a scronny girl and I’m always being called flat cuz I have a cups and and average booty tbh my jeans don’t help my case at all tho
Yes because that's literally all that is being presented to them.. Thanks to American culture/propaganda. That last girl with a stallion / fake ass body type will only appeal to a hood rapper or black athlete (and even then those tend to go for tiny latinas and caucasian chicks). Most men wouldn't be attracted to her body, Koreans or not.
I’ve noticed in Korea that the second girl they showed seems to be the ideal body type for a lot of guys now. They still prefer “skinny” girls (skinny by western standards) but just not wafer thin. That’s what they view as healthy and ‘thicc’ lool.
What strikes me watching this is that Koreans have a very odd definition of the word "glamorous"... because they know that it comes from English, they think that it means the same thing in English, but it really doesn't. When a Korean hears the word "glamorous" they think it means "big boobs" or very strong "S-line" body, or curvy or whatever... but that is NOT at all the English meaning of this word. I've seen the same error made in Korean drama subtitles (to the point where a scene in which a woman was being sexually harrassed by her boss was completely missed in the subtitles because they translated a word as "glamorous" instead of saying that the boss was talking about the woman's body). Glamorous, in English, refers to things that are luxurious, or fancy. It has nothing really to do with body shape. You could use the word glamorous to describe a movie, a car, an airplane... hell, you could describe a man as glamorous.
Very refreshing. I appreciate the thoughtful and considerate deliberation each of these men gave to their considerations. This above the final answers speaks very well of the respectful and kind nature of Korean men. God Bless you all! Biology is one thing but culture and kindness wins here! I hate to put people into boxes and have always been a more, how would you say, character driven person. I am also aware that I have a certain "type" initially that I am attracted to. That being said ... I have fallen hard for men who were not my specific type on sight but brought other things to the table that I realized are equally important. I would only say that I would have a hard time with a man who was "strong". Meaning I prefer height and masculinity but have had deep and securing feelings for men of a smaller then standard stature and understand and appreciate many of the comments made by these men in this video via the size comparison. I can see how they would not want to feel weak or diminutive whilst appreciating the stature of these ladies they were shown. I also feel the need as a lady on the mid to larger side to feel diminutive to men I am with. For example, he can be as tall even but just slightly taller then me but I need to feel like he could carry me out of a burning building and I imagine it is the same for men? Can he carry her from a burning building. *fair and logical in the typical male/female relativity. That being said I sure would try to drag my man out of a burning building ... omg ... this has gotten weird and kinda dark so ... please re-read the top paragraph or so ... I am sure my best insight was left there and I got lost ... ;)
Please note my beautiful black queens! You don’t need a mans opinion on your body! It’s your body and you should be your ideal type and not fit a mans type for his “needs” or “preference” love you guys 😍
as a black girl, this made me so happy. Cuz I’m so used to seeing white women this and that so this made me happy to finally see someone with my skin color 😊
They usually use white women in These kinds of videos but the title isn’t Koreans choose ideal Caucasian body types! This title makes it seem more normal and casual instead of emphasizing its black people!
@@ahoneysuckle so I agree to a certain extent. The thing is we do have different body types when it comes to our ethnic backgrounds. Koreans tend to be smaller or slimmer, people of African decent tend to be more curvy, shoot Swedish or Norwegian people tend to be tall. I think talking about our differences should not alienate us, since we should be celebrating those differences. I think of the story of Sara Baartman. While her story is a sad, disgusting reminder of how we as black women have had our bodies exploited for the entertainment of others, if we look at the one of the main reason why it happened, it's because she was different. Because the people in France did not look like the people in the country she came from (I cant quite remember where right now) While they treated that difference one way, we have a chance to celebrate those differences.

Consideration of overall body type being a good match definitely less the norm though.

So societal pressures pressure them into fiding someone who is thin, small and, petite, but honestly i think most Korean men prefer curves overall.
Basically
I think most men in general do
not curves, just more healthy. when they mean curves, it’s different than western standards that ur thinking. they still mean petite, just not big.
Im so surprised that they werent really attracted to the first model because she has the ideal female korean body type.
If you eat Oatmeal every damn day you get fed up eatin that stuff.
We all get fed up with overexposed aspects of our own society

when I heard "bagel" and his explanation i was like "I can't believe I'm a bagel in Korea..." LMAO
Thats exatly right. Even if they are interested or curious, they will still feel the pressure from society and conform.
It's not just Korean, Asian never attractive to a darker skin.

Finally, an intellectual
@@juncity nothing intellectual about it.

I am sure my best insight was left there and I got lost ... ;)

Because the people in France did not look like the people in the country she came from (I cant quite remember where right now)
While they treated that difference one way, we have a chance to celebrate those differences.
Can’t people just ever shut up and take the compliment mg

Yeon Kimin is right. In Korea it's just a way of easily describing a body type. "Healthy" in Korean is like saying "thicc" but in an everyday kind of way (😂 I'm trying to think of a good equivalent and this what's coming to mind)
Nah that's just an nicer way for them to say less skinny
They also say "Chubby" to mean curvacious!
in my country we also use the "healthy" word.it means less skinny/fit body.it is not abt someone's health condition.
