I think he was also nervous/uncomfortable to speak English. When you feel like you aren't good at a language it's terrifying to speak especially with a camera and with someone that seems more fluent so I think he was nervous for that too. My school wanted us to be recorded on camera while speaking English once and I thought I was going to hurl or faint or die because of how unconfident I was.

Suhani Ali seriously! I don’t think other cultures are that much more open minded it’s just that we have become more accepting of change. I’ve heard my grandfather tell my cousin that she ruined our bloodline because she married outside our nationality! This was not too long ago! He came to accept it though after a while of my cousin coming to family events alone and leaving her family behind and since then both my sisters have married outside our nationality. So I thinks it acceptance that changes that mindset.
Oceanic_ Love yes so the „korean age“ is a little different because they count the months in the womb as 1 year.. so it means when you are born you are 1 year old (again in „korean age“). And second, you age another year because of the turn of the calendar year. So you are most likely 1 or 2 years older in Korea... Basically if your birthday this year has already passed than it’s +1 and if it hasn’t it’s +2 :) (This is what my korean friends told me) But I still don’t think he looks his age even if his international age is 30/31 lol :) (I hope you mean that with „time mechanism“ lol or else I misunderstood you)
this would’ve been better if he interviewed them in korean and put subtitles. they wouldn’t have to worry so much about using perfect english and we would’ve been able to hear their actual responses
That means he's the same age. In Korean when someone is older than you (even if it's just a year) you have to speak formally to them and use honorifics, but if you're born in the same year then you're "friends" and can speak with them casually.
In Korea you dont say the age you have based on your birthday, you say the age based on the year you were born. So for example in a class of high school just by knowing in what class they are, you asume everyone's age (so if you are in your last year of high school, you would say you're 18 even if your birthday its until months later and you still have 17). So that guy propably said "we are friends" referring that they have the same age.
Am I the only one who doesn’t care where in the world a person is from? I am European and white and I have fallen in love or had crushes on many different men. It’s ONLY if something big between our cultures that crashes and makes it too hard. But the concept of dating interracial is very normal and cool to me

I want my kids to grow up with multiple cultures. I feel that if they do, they would be more accepting to cultural differences. my overall preference is Asian men. I just find their physical traits more physically attractive then others.
I think that a lot of people don’t date outside of their nationality still bc of cultural differences and familial approval. For example, my dad and his family moved to America and was considered a foreigner. He married my mom (who is American) and his parents were so so against it at first because she was not familiar with their culture, language, etc and was not brought up through their church, which was a huge factor too. Once my dad was like nah guys, this is not a short-term thing and they realized he was serious about her they supported them more. I feel like it’s a bit harder to make inter-cultural relationships work when family is such an integral part of someone’s culture. However, in this day and age people are becoming much more open-minded, so I hope that mindset starts to become a rarity soon!!

My husband is Chinese and when he first came to the USA, he was scared around foreign girls. However, later he got more confidant and married me. Chinese men are definitely different from guys in USA, but it is a good difference. Just know ladies, a lot of Chinese men (and other Asians) like foreign girls, they are just nervous of rejection.
That’s like me & my boyfriend! We’re both American born but I’m Russian and he’s Chinese. I think that a lot of people don’t date outside of their nationality still bc of cultural differences and familial approval. For example, my dad and his family moved to America and was considered a foreigner. He married my mom (who is American) and his parents were so so against it at first because she was not familiar with their culture, language, etc and was not brought up through their church, which was a huge factor too. Once my dad was like nah guys, this is not a short-term thing and they realized he was serious about her they supported them more. I feel like it’s a bit harder to make inter-cultural relationships work when family is such an integral part of someone’s culture. However, in this day and age people are becoming much more open-minded, so I hope that mindset starts to become a rarity soon!!
