hey! does anyone know what type of piano/organ/synth she is playing throughout the whole song? It has such a specific sound to it, I'd love to know what it is.
no offense to the released gods country (especially cause it's my favorite song) but i like this version a lot more except i'd keep the dog teeth line at the end because it's just such a powerful line, but this was sweet in a sense, i'd love to see a merge of them and get the experience of both together
This song gives off 2010 vibes for me, in a very sad and nostalgic way. It's so good, it reminds me of my childhood and I don't even live or grew up in South Alabama or let alone in America.
It was just a thursday, and it wasn’t right for you So we planned a car chase, down the highway Say goodbye when it hit 122 I’d write the note, you’d leave a pack of your favorite smokes, and we’d take the by-ways to South Alabama and run those great big hills to the great big blue You sound like you’re underwater when you talk to me Little preacher’s daughter lying to her father about where she’s going every evening Kissing through the screen door on the back porch causе he screams Lord help mе when he sees you touching me South Alabama is looking better every week You’ve tasted love and it tasted sweet You drank the blood and bit the meat When you hold it, if it cries, you should let it go I'm trying hard so baby please Don’t sink in me with your dog teeth Don’t be naive to the one good thing you know
Call me old school but I like to read the lyrics to fully understand the song. For me following the words on screen is hard the older I get. @@themilkcartonangel
thats so cool! i wanna visit Perry one day. and i use a variety of fonts but the general name of the style is Old English or Blackletter!! hope that helps ♡

i am going to pin this bc i want to know too now lmao
sounds a bit like a rhodes (probably a vst) with a ton of reverb
I've been wondering the same thing...
I was going to say just a normal trad piano with after edits... but it's just too delicious... it's too heavenly and echoey, so I have no clue.
It's likely just a piano vst (any kind) with a high pass filter to cut the lows with heavy reverb for the long tails.
this woman is so insane. i have never heard such a perfect sound and discography. she is amazing

shes so good at atmosphere
This might be the most beautiful thing I have ever heard, especially 2:40-3:15.
i can listen to her singing all day
it's not Ethel Cain's song if it's not 7 minutes.
or 50 seconds 😂
from which 2 minutes are just beautiful instrumental
And it’s still not long enough 😂

words cannot describe how much i adore this song
The way she sings "GOaing" at 02:01, nevermind 'cursive', that's more 'Bolanesque.'
What is Bolanesque?
