For anybody who watches/enjoy The Owl House the actress that voices Eda voices Chicha. I always enjoy finding two characters and seeing how many might know and hear the two especially if a vastly different personality from those characters sometimes. This movie is very quotable and has wonderful fun villains with Kronk a standout character that can be a sidekick/friend to both heroes and villains. A asset and a hinderance in one lovable dumb good cooking package.
31:12 it’s definitely universal: most if not all gasp at the audacity of Yzma telling Kronk she doesn’t like his spinach puffs. NEVER INSULT THE SPINACH PUFFS!
Would you agree that Pacha is a downright saint. He had every right to leave him to his fate after what Kuzko did to him. And yet, he still save him at every opportunity and tolerate his behavior toward him. Most people in his position would have snap and ditch Kusco into the wild. I know I would. Pacha is what an actual nice guy is.

Yzma is definitely my favorite, she’s so mood and memeable in practically every part of her screen time. I just discovered your channel and am excited to subscribe and view your other commentaries! 💚
Unpopular Opinion: The Emperor's New Groove works far better than Raya and The Last Dragon. That might sound odd, but when you actually compare the two, you realize that both movies tackle the theme about earning trust. But Raya and the Last Dragon failed, as the character Namaari, not only did her actions hurt so many people, even physically, but the fact that they chose to cut out her apology in the end, feels very contrived, as well as the fact that her seemingly redeeming herself in the end doesn’t work. Whereas Kuzco, while his actions are going to hurt people, the fact that they don’t ever actually happen, kind of works more. Especially when you consider that even if he does make it back to the palace, it wouldn’t matter either way, as Yzma will be waiting there to kill him. So either way, he’s a dead man. It also helps the fact that the character Pacha, unlike Sisu, while he’s shown to be a “nice guy” who’s is overly trustworthy of everyone, is not a pushover. As when he tries to make a deal with Kuzco, he tells him, “Don’t shake, unless you mean it.”. And when Kuzco ends up breaking his promise, Pacha gives him what he deserves, even calling him out for what he is. There's also the scene when Kuzco ends up, running into him when he’s finally all alone, where Pacha talking crap about him to the other llamas. So while Kuzco‘s apology never actually comes out of him, it’s sort of he’s more justified as he’s finally excepted that he is indeed a horrible person, but Pacha’s willing to give him one more chance.
This should NOT be an unpopular opinion. If you watched my raya and the last dragon reaction, you'll see that imo Raya comes no where close to the amazingness that is emperor's new groove!
8:16 Actually you can get the recipe. There's a channel on UA-cam that recreates food from movies called Binging with Babish, and he did an episode recreating Kronk's spinach puffs.
I'd have to say Yzma is my favorite, because she's voiced by the wonderful Eartha Kitt. I'm old enough to remember her as Catwoman is the delightfully campy 1960s 'Batman' series starring Adam West. Also, she recorded the only decent version of the satirical song 'Santa Baby'.
Still hope Disney revives their original concept for this film as an serious, epic Inca musical. It's been so long since we've had a Disney musical with a male protagonist!
@@OpticalSorcerer Snuff out the light is a banger (a rough work is on youtube) but disney has sadly turned away from 2d animation. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that 2d animation has been unionized and 3d hasn’t.
@@exceedcharge1 3D is actually unionized. I saw a post on Reddit about the rumor you mentioned. Essentially 3D was new and thus innovative, so Disney opted for that instead, and since the highest-grossing animated films are 3D, it's unlikely they'll return to it soon unless their films keep flopping and they get "desperate" enough to go back to 2D for nostalgia. And yeah, SNOTL is amazing. Didn't care for the other songs, though. I have a bit of sympathy for Kuzco. First of all, he was raised by Yzma, a woman who literally said "it is no concern of mine if your famhily has food." Second, he's eighteen. Everyone is an idiot at eighteen. Finally, he was never taught to empathize with others. So many people say, 'it's okay to think that being spoiled like this is normal as a kid, but by the time you're an adult, you should know better.' How is he supposed to know better? He lives in a world where literally everyone around him is there to give him what he wants. He lives in a world where the second something doesn't go his way, he can snap his fingers and get a new toy, or have a door placed where he wants, or throw an elderly man out the window. How is he supposed to know that not everything revolves around him when he lives in a world where everything revolves around him? But Kronk is still my favourite. The best of all the himbos.
13:32 Did you know that the black panther is not a real species. Black panthers are just jaguars and leopards that have a condition called melanism which causes them to have darker fur. These so called “black panthers” are not pure black because their spots can still be visible. Only 11% of jaguars and leopards are born melanistic. Also jaguars are mainly solitary, the only times they’re ever seen together are during the mating season or if it’s a mother with her cubs.
I don't think there's anything deeper about the one guard going home because he got turned into a cow. It's basically surreal/absurdist humor, where the joke is just how unexpected it is. You know all the guards just got turned into animals, and of course Yzma doesn't give a damn and keeps ordering them to kill the protagonists... But nobody could predict one of the guards would suddenly acknowledge how crazy it is that he was just transformed into a cow and ask to be excused, and then your expectations are defied again when Yzma responds with an uncharacteristic amount of compassion by actually granting that request. And then your expectations get absolutely smeared a THIRD time in 10 seconds when the other guards, who you would think have every bit as much reason to want to go home as the one who turned into a cow, actually are all good and ready to get right back into things. In other words it's just funny because "by all accounts, it doesn't make any sense"
