I just rediscovered my favorite video jam ever yesterday. This is not only one of the baddest jams, but this IS the baddest video of a jam ever made. I mean, I can see a Broadway play or movie version.
Anyone who doesn't like this song or the choreography of this video has no swag, class, or soul. And, as good as a saxophone player he is, I'm surprised that Eric Leeds was never a member of Prince's New Power Generation (NPG) Hornz.
Eric played when Prince was in a pinch when he needed someone to fill in for another player. Eric played with the NPG through Lovesexy and Prince turned him loose on these Madhouse albums. Eric also released his own album on Paisley Park Records called Time Squared? There were other things that Eric wanted to do and other people he wanted to work with. Working for Prince could be grueling and not a whole lot of fun. It was Eric's choice.
The choreography, even by 2020 standards were so ill. I wonder if those guys were on a Fraternity Step team. Some parts of their routine reminds me of performances by Omega Psi Phi. This was 87, eventually there would be all kinds of influences from Black Fraternities in many R&B videos where there was much dance.
I do believe that the dancers are the same ones you see in the balcony of the film Purple Rain. They became The Game Boyz of the NPG. TonyM., Damon Dickson, and Kirky J.

I been looking for this song for years and I haven't heard it in years and they have another song called. 13 they played this song and 13 on video soul a lot because this song 10 and 13 we're the hits on the 16 album by madhouse and another thing this CD is $386.00 on eBay thats a shame and I want to buy the madhouse 16 album so bad and the reason why this CD is so high because it's a prince produced album
