I am also a victim of perfectionism but I also think I was a major procrastinator which is also something that perfectionism deal with so I don't think finishing an assignment a month prior the due date I think is the opposite of the real experience.
This video isn't very accurate. I was hoping to hear something about the real roots of perfectionism, for example: being bullied in your youth, having parents who made you feel that anything you did wasn't good enough or who penalized you if one of your school results were bad while all others where good. Stuff like that wasn't mentioned and is part of the reasons that people become (unhealthy) perfectionists.

Exactly. There is no way of finishing earlier. Perfectionists never feel like they "finished" something.
