- Idyllic camper life continues, as we watch biplane aerobatics in Cirencester, before taking in a weekend of 2CV action in Worcestershire - full report on that event to follow. These are our adventures in Bob the Conway Cruiser Folding Camper, towed by Bella, our 2002 Citroen Berlingo Hdi. This is camping on a budget!

That folding caravan has brought you two, and all your followers, a rather entertaining new seasonal dimension of country adventures. I really like the simplicity and generally happy exchanges. The ‘rig’ does even run the risk of looking and being very smart - and they certainly look like vehicles to keep. Lastly - memories from my distant early parenthood together with your canvas escapades remind me of the children’s television series of ‘Rosie & Jim’ on their narrow boat. Perhaps you might not want a name change though! As ever - thanks for taking us along.

These camping adventures have added another string to the bow of an already excellent channel keep them coming, Bob seems like an inspired purchase
I disagree. It’s changed the channel from a motoring review channel to a weird hybrid family vlogging channel conducted in a car.

Now you just need a nice spot in the storage garage to house Bob when not in use. Now what two identical cars could you move out to give Bob the space he/it deserves 😄

Nice one Ian and Carly. When Bob first appeared on the channel I looked forward to some new Hubnutters antics. The dynamic between you two (and the dogs of course) is really great and should be a breath of fresh air to some who may have never considered the camping lark. I love it although my experience over the years has been a tent with my transport back in the day a motorcycle. Good times.
Don’t you find Ian often talks over Carly, or she will speak to him [and us] and he will nod and then speak about something completely different to what she has been talking of. It shows some degrees of a controlling personality, also how Ian always decides when the video should end in an often sharp way ‘Right, I think we should wrap up this video now…’ as Carly then stops speaking - she is never given an equal time to convey her thoughts, told what to point the camera at, and so on. I’m sure once the camera is off all is normal, but it is anything but when the camera is rolling.

Great seeing Bella the Berlingo again, not so much Bob, but I'm delighted Bella is doing sterling service.
Bob certainly has plenty of fans, but we are aware not everyone is a Bob fan. Plenty of non-Bob content coming.

Not one to deliberately go against the grain but I for one can’t wait for the end of the trailer tent tripe, I got excited and put my notifications back on when TWC appeared but seems the fleet is just not being featured anymore, shame.
Agreed. The reviews and tinkering video as well as general fleet content is what I subscribe for. The pop up tent content doesn’t do it for me.
Reviews coming very soon. I have a few recorded. We do have tinkering plans too, but August is always going to be travel season for us, just as winter tends to see more tinkering as there are fewer shows and fewer reasons to go for a drive.
As the owner of a Jack Russell I can confirm that Titchs behaviour is perfectly normal for the breed😆
I am in full agreement that these camping videos are fantastic and informative about the sites that you are using. I may even consider a folding caravan in the future now. Keep up the great work that you all do with the channel and I look forward to many more Hubnut videos and adventures.

Caravanning is such a cliche (Carry on Camping etc) that i dont think any of us in our youth could have imagined the appeal but here you are delighting in it and it's enjoyable when you share.
I must admit that I am enjoying your holiday videos with Bella and Bob. It is always great to get away as much as possible when you can do so & enjoy yourselves as well. I look forward to seeing your next adventure whatever it may be.

I actually saw not one, but two 2CVs on the road today - that just never happens anymore, especially here in Sweden. Oh joy!

I drove through Cirencester a few weeks ago on my way to the Roman villa at Chedworth. As you now know, the Cotswolds are a very beautiful part of the country. PS it's not sandstone; it's Oolitic Limestone. (The Geology Bore strikes......)
Yes my late father did his Geology degree in the Cotswolds, this was published long after. He died while Professor of Neo Tectonics at Bristol University.

He was a friend of "The Old Red" Sandstone though.
Everyone from there always told me “it’s not sandstone it’s Cotswold stone!” but couldn’t tell me what that fundamentally was. I’ve not cared enough to look it up for myself. So thank you very much!!

Bella & Bob are a nice couple; we used to have a 'Bella & Bob' ourselves and really liked the concept. We've been all over the UK & Ireland that way. It's very easy to fall in love with that lifestyle, especially with the weather like you two have been blessed with.

Been to Ledbury a few times on holiday, lovely place, we camp near the Malvern hills.
Had great holidays over the years with the children camping home and France.
The carry on Hubnut camping saga is actually a great watch. Carry on Hubnutting should be on a T shirt with a picture of Bob.

Habe heute bei meinem Auto,,ERAD Spacia von 1991,, die Bremse hinten rechts und hinten links entlüftet, morgen geht es vorne weiter.

That was absolutely charming, I especially like the personal touch and the fact that you're often vlogging in the early morning which, as we all know, is the most magical time of the day. Absolutely terrific, I love the English countryside.

Stayed at that campsite the mayfield, had a bit of a slope to it I remember, very good showers with music playing and had some impressive trailers on the walk to the showers as well.

How things have changed in the last few months. @MissHubnut an advocate for mobile housing and @HubNutVids a vociferous opponent to said housing. Now we have very entertaining camping videos combined with 'normal' Hubnuttery. ❤️ it.

Oh how lovely and what a great camping experience with all the 2CVs. We’ve just finished our trip to/through Wales (Caernarfon, Newport, Cardiff) and just left Cirencester two days ago. We were at the Cirencester Park Caravan and Motorhome club. We’re in Oxford now and are heading back to the ferry in Harwich tomorrow. It’s back to work next week, unfortunately. We’ll definitely be revisiting Wales in the future!

As far as camping is concerned, lots of hot is better than lots of wet. Add some wind and it does get pretty depressing. My tiny TWC arrived today #251. I'm going to shave a few thou off the card so it tucks neatly under the display case. A nice little model. Thanks.

Great part of the country I have been to most place around that area in my younger years has my mums sister lived in Swindon and we spent are summer holidays there travelling in my dads cars Austin A40 then a 1100 also the car I passed my driving test in his 1300 then after that it was in his wartburg I last visited my cousins in Cirencester in vw polo a few years ago I will have to go and see her with my new car a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 diesel which is good for up 70 mpg on the motorway
I use to have a 12v cool box freezer, two compartments, freezer half only went down to -10, cold enough for Ice cream or short term frozen food storage and ice for drinks. It was American from the 70's, designed for Tailgating and had a capacity of about 40 litre in total but weighed a ton, took two to lift if full.
We've been unable to get away this summer what with one thing and another, so it's been wonderful to have my holidays vicariously though you and Miss Hubnut and the Hubmutts! As a lifelong camping-phobe I'm worried that I might end up thinking it's actually a good idea...

I'm off this BH holiday weekend in my caravan to a RC model aircraft fly in. Can't beat the outdoor camping life , when you are doing your hobbies...
p.s. there is a Toyata Starlet next door to me, a faded red one, but still a daily driver.
What a great setup you have there. The Citroen is all about practicality, space and ride comfort - they are a very underrated vehicle. Yes its a bit plasticky and rattles at times but these things can be sorted. The trailer tent takes me back to the early 70s. They were very popular back then for a while. Overall your set-up is climate friendly and carbon low camping compared to the modern option of buying some monstrous air-conditioned great camper van that cost lots of carbons to manufacture and is too wide for country lanes. I really enjoyed these real-life camping trips with you both. All you need to do now is work on your 60 second erections between now and next years camping capers!
You can't really fault that setup for £2.5k. Just the job!

Glad you've enjoyed the camping adventures...looking forward to the 2CV Weekend! Having a glimpse of the Cotswolds was quite charming as well...Have you read any of the books by J.B. Priestly? I'm currently finishing "English Journey", where he takes a self-guided tour of parts of the country, in Autumn of 1933. Part of his journey was by his private car, a Daimler. His description of the Cotswolds was very charming, including the lovely stone used in the construction of houses and buildings. He also visited a place known as "Snowshill Manor"; I wonder if it's still there? The owner/caretaker of the time was painstakingly constructing a scale model of a seaport, around one of the fish ponds; sounded like quite a lovely way to spend one's time!
Also fun to see a bit of aerobatics, though wing-walking (to watch) always gave me the anxious willies...Enjoy the rest of Summer!

Funnily enough, we were coming home from our holiday in Worcestershire and saw many 2 CVs that day, I did say I wonder whether there will be a Hub Nut video covering them.

Been to Cirencester a few times in the past, when I worked at a Mitsubishi dealership, the Mitsubishi head office including training school was there, not sure if it's still there, because Mitsubishi stopped importing to the UK
Can still get them in the USA but it’s a truly sad assortment….They could put a lot more effort into delivering desirable vehicles.
The camping stuff has been good, The Berlingo is doing a great job now its not sitting like an old Capri.. Best wishes.

Ian when you pass a Specsavers pop in there and ask them to adjust your glasses fit. They used to be good for this type of PR stuff and it'll save you energy from having to keep pushing them back every five seconds.

.we're soon off on our caravan hols only thing is we've adopted a 3 year old female german shepherd who's a bit of handful so hopefully she'll take to it nicely and not eat anyone!

Good evening Ian before you get stopped by the old bill , just check you don’t need caravan mirrors on your van , I thought my Kia Sportage mirrors where ok but buy law they are not and I had to get the strap on extension mirrors

@@HubNut TBH I have been all over the South of England in the last month I'm sure we have almost met in that time
Now we all love a Berlingo (right utilitarian fans?) but no a/c? Windows down never quite cuts it for me. A/c is the only "extra" worth speccing when you purchase a car, especially right now when a drive in an air conditioned car is like a little treat in itself. I'm not sure if a Berlingo of that era and model comes with a/c, if it does but it doesn't work spend the money Ian! I feel like a king driving my '05 Fabia with replacement a/c condenser blowing lovely cold air in my face...looking disparagingly at the peasants with their windows wound down...oh how common!
Thing is that the dark nights and mornings are coming and it will get depressing not being able to go away for the weekend ..I hate the winter
