The speed of the song never changes, it's just that they drop the instruments and sing acapella with a snare drum beat.

George was instrumental in this gay man having the confidence and guts to come out and speak his mind. A true product of this time. Other great songs are Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Time and Victims. ❤️💛💚. The chameleon he’s singing about is someone who can’t be true to themselves. Saddest pop song ever, makes me cry after the millionth time. .

When Boy George first appeared on the scene he was a sensation. Everyone was stunned. Is it a girl, is it a boy?? One of the first instances of a gay man in drag embraced on a world wide scale. Incredible voice with fun music. They ruled the charts from 1982 to 87 and sold 100 million albums. He is still a big celebrity today.

Didn't constantly virtue signal either. Also very religious 👍🏻

@@jamesmorrison4581 And he wasn't sexualized like most drag queens today either which contributed to his appeal.

If you like harmonica, you will love "Missionary Man" and "There Must Be An Angel Playing With My Heart" by the Eurythmics. Also from the 80s. Both were massive hits.

I was about 14 when this song came out and our school was doing a talent contest. I loved singing so I entered the contest to sing this song with only the instruments and dressed like the lead singer Boy George. Everyone thought I would bomb out and not win any prizes. But they were wrong! I came in second and won 2 tickets to any concert playing in Vancouver British Columbia Canada where I lived 1 year from that date. I did go to a concert and see Red Hot Chili Peppers. I even got to see them back stage and say hi to them before they sang. I could not believe it when they said hi to me in the audience and the light focused on me. It was a one of a kind experience.

This is Boy George and Culture Club. Took the world by storm in 1982. Recommend Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Church of The Poisened Mind, and Move Away.

Boy George is the person that is all made up for the songs. You may not recognize him but he is usually a judge on the voice. Short hair and usually a hat.

to me this song is about the pick pocket, he's like a chameleon, that can blend into any setting, he's not what he seems, for him everyday is like survival, in the end karma catches up yo him, he is found out,and made to walk the plank.

Please react to George Michael, another great 80’s icon that went into the 200’s before his death. Freedom 90, outside, father Figure & wake me up, before you GoGo, are all classics.

As a Gay man this was the best time for me. Sure there was naming calling etc. But it was sticks & stones and i gave just as good back. But there was none of this constant virtue signalling & pushing an agenda. Just got on with it. Boy Geroge is also a very religious guy. Saw a documentary on him. Looks good now too.👍🏻
