- Hello, everyone! In this video, I will quickly explain 4 methods of adding detail to smoke simulations in Blender. Here, I will provide short descriptions of how the features utilized function, along with how to use some of them.
The purpose of this video is to present the importance of some of Blender's features when simulating detailed smoke. Please consider, that here I will only display short summaries of the different methods used. Some of those methods, such as textures and particles, are very expandable, however, and can be used in a variety of forms.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video!
Hello, everyone! Some of the information here about Mantaflow is outdated (for instance, it now has the "adaptive domain" feature).
new mantaflow was added to master! 2.82 beta
Hey Iago, I was wondering how would you import something like this into Unity?
Great tutorial man!!!
You seem to be the only person that can get good realistic sims that are production quality.
Amazing info, THANK YOU!!!!
Best fire and smoke tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you!
less than a minute in and you are an absolute gem in terms of teaching!
Finally someone with some original useful tips! Thank you so much :)
One of the best tutorials I've found, you really clearly showed how to do it, jeep up the good work
Good Laga Mota 👍👍👍👍
I love this type of animation.
Voice over is good
Super Nice Tutorial! Wonderful tips Iago, you are making Tutorials with really good quality! Keep creating, please!
1k likes and 0 dislikes.... I've never seen a video like this before and I watch a lot of them. Congrats :D
Looks amazing. I will definitely try some of your tips.
This is clearly the most epic tutorial I've ever seen.
1.4k thumbs up and 0 thumbs down. Goes to show the quality of the tutorial! Great work!
Um... wow? Very high quality tutorial. Thank you for putting this together.
Wow!!! This was great! Can't wait to see your channel blow up!
Great detail on simulation!!! thank you for sharing.
I deeply appreciate the object names at 2:45
"Umm no"
"Why"
"it okei lol"
oof
Great tutorial, congrats.
Great tips, Really refined results.
Man this video is just awesome, you really made my jaw drop to the floor!!!
I just discovered your channel, watched a couple of videos. your content is awesome and high quality. keep making it.
Great tutorial followed by some serious simulations. I love how you pay attention to all the small details like typography or animating the titles and stuff, very professional approach. :)
Thank you!
Thank you, learned new tricks.
This guy is too good. Just too good
Great tutorial!! Thanks for this useful tips :)
Your audio quality is amazing
Super detailed tutorial, tnx
Kudos!
Dude, you did your homework! *salute* And that bass at the beginning just set the mood haha Great tutorial/tips!
This video is amazing, could you do one reviewing mantaflow now that it's out, please?
Well, sort of. I'm planning on doing an explosion tutorial with mantaflow. I'll still need to figure some things out about it. Although I won't make it an introduction to mantaflow, I'll likely explain some of the technical aspects of it.
Also, thank you!
@@IagoMotaVFX looking forward to it!!!
Awesome!!!
1000% like ratio! enormous but you earned it!
there is a true depth in every second !!!!
(Depth Of Field!!)
I found that with High Res option enabled, the strength value works only for wavelet noise. So you can enable just hires divisions, with strength set to 0, this way you will get more resolution, without additional high frequency noise that sometimes looks odd
Very helpful!
Impressive most impressive.
Hi. Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing your project files? I usually fail at getting a realistic simulation because my emitters seem to be odd. You get great shape in your fireballs and flame simulations. Any tips on how to get those? How do you shape your emitters? Do you emit from particles or surface/volume? How do you manage flames and get them in there? Your simulations definitely look production ready.
But your tutorial is awesome. Thanks a lot.
Please do a complete explosion tutorial (preferably in eevee). Great video man!
Eevee cannot accomplish realistic fire and smoke.
HOW do you do the kind of movie compositing you do at 4:18?
Cool!!
great video! really good to know this "tricks", and hey, could you do a video explaining blender's mantaflow build? i haven't been able to understand it and there are not a lot of tutorials...
where can I get that background image used at 4:18 ?
@Iago Mota - Thanks for all the tips! I actually liked the flame effect that was at the end of the clip (4:52). What is that? do you have a link/guide/tutorial for it?
Thanks
New videos on mantaflow? I love your stuff.. One of the best for simulations.
muito obrigado é muito difícil encontrar tutoriais bem explicados e ilustrativos muito obrigado
principalmente quando você não tem 1 centavo pra comprar cursos, tenho certeza que aqui no brasil seus tutoriais vão ser de muita ajuda
Do you any plans on recreating this video with Blender 3.3? That would be awesome as I'm new to Blender and want to create fire effects for short films.
WOW! Great Video! You are a true artist, Your video is both educational and entertaining! Every tutorial should be like this, it really helps me keep engaged. Do you do professional VFX for films?
Thank you, Joshua! I really wish I did professional VFX, but there's still a lot of work to do!
I have no doubt, you will be successful if you keep at it! =)
Iago, pra fazer uma composição pelo blender vc teria algum tutorial?
You are finally talking in your videos!!!!
But why should you use mantaflow then? Whats so good about it?
what are the recommended computer parts to accomplish this ?
Could please make a tutorial about Cloud? Great video by the way!!!
merci beaucoup
And this Video for the new version of blender. Oh yes....
Dude, any way to create Colorful Powder blast simulation in Blender ?
Wow
Can you do a tutorial? Your pyro shader is really good looking.
Will you please upload attractor tutorial
Does anyone have a idea when manta flow will be officially added in blender. Cuz the graphic all version crashes alot.
Thanks lago Mota :)
Mantaflow? Is that a plugin? If it is, where can you get it?
Would u know why blender shuts down as soon as i add fire to my smoke. I dont think its a gpu/memory issue.
That's strange. I've never encountered this issue. Do you think it might have something to do with what version of Blender you're using?
Hey i was just wondering what specs does your pc have
How would you tacket a rocket engine exhaust?
More fire and smoke 😎😎😎
You have posterization on your gradients in the video, just add a little bit of noize so youtube compression will not posterize gradients.
I'll definitely try that out. Thanks!
Does anyone know how the background music is called?
Lourd.
Please please please do an updated smoke/fire tutorial because no matter what I do, my simulations always end up blocky and gross.
Ok, what is mantaflow?
Great video overall
Thanks! Mantaflow is a simulation framework that can be integrated with Blender. It simulates things like smoke and liquids differently than Blender does by default.
please make tutorials on smole, please.Thank you.
Can you make a tutorial on how to download Mantaflow?
You can download Mantaflow, as in you can get a version of Blender that has it. Here's a link: graphicall.org/1240
To use it, just set-up your scene, as you normally would and, when you go to simulate smoke, you can see that the physics panel is slightly different, and the smoke behaves differently from how it does in other Blender versions.
4:15 tutorial?
Upload a tutorial how a solid attracrd another pls.....
Next epsiode?
dont make it small. i downloaded a city and didnt scale it enough.

Great video but please work on audio of your videos, i cant ear more than 10 seconds, after is getting very disturbing. Buy a anti pop and keep lower your audio recording gain.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Hey hey hey I don't have life , my way home from work tomorrow and I can get a ride home with you today at my house at my desk at my house and I will be there at my house and I will be there at my house and have friends in my desk and
lies, blender never crashes, it just fucks off without telling anyone :')
very often killing it and restarting is the best option when you gave it too much shit yeah,
when you try to enter a 5 with your fat fingers and accidently graze the 4 so its 54 now, and you just pressed enter... and you see your ram use slowly piling up to a point higher than the stack goes
goddammit i'm a ninja at CTRL+S and sometimes i still need the autosaves.
blender is cruel when it comes to "i wonder what happens when i turn this setting up" lol
the answer is very often: a reduction in quality of life
simplify still can't help the insane particle madness you sometimes need for smoke sim, just leave them off in the viewport lol
Mantaflow is such crap compared to other 3d programs and plugins using simulations. especially phoenix fd. That alone puts mantaflow to pure shame. Too bad they dont make it for blender.
This is clearly the most epic tutorial I've ever seen.
Cool!!!
